if your playing a paarty, get more then just the 1 genre dude, people will want it changed up a bit. Get a large portion of what you plan on playing, then get half an hour of hiphop, half an hour, or old classics, half an hour trance, half an house of dubstep etc etc etc, you never know what the crowd your playing to will want. best be ready

My 2 cents. The whole reason this argument started is what everone class's a 'dj' as. everyone has different opinion on what it means. some people take it in the literal sense as 'disc jokey' i.e. someone needs to have 2 decks infront of them and manualy beat matching, and if they dont have the 2 or more 'disc's' they arn't a dj, which is where jaz stands i think. The second is someone who is somoene who is using a peice of equiptment to play EDM to a crowd. tbh i dont give a shit, all him a dj or entertainer or whatever, in my opinion someone's credibilty should be judged on the skill it takes him to do what he does. @jaz just because someone is sinking dosent mean he is just sitting there clapping doing fuck all. as andyman stated or someone else, the guy mentioned before is syncing up 4 tracks at once, sure he isnt doing the beat matching, but id like to see you do what he does as good as him, he is basically doing live production, which in my eyes, takes a shit load more skill then simply mixing 1 track into another. So inconclusion........ Bacon.

to get all the bitches! and be a rockstar On a serious note my goal as a producer/dj is to get to the point to when i play at a club the people that are there are there because they like my music and are there to hear me play it, at the moment they are just filled with your average club goers. even if i play in a small underground basement to 50 people for the rest of my life, if they are there for my music im happy

"WE’RE BAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!!! That’s right June 9th Distortion returns to Oxford Art Factory to make use of that amazing sound system with one massive local line up, it’s always nice to return to where it all started ) WE are about to prove that Dubstep isn’t full of fan boys who only go to gigs to see internationals and that people who love Dubstep will show up and support a local night and rock the fuck out to some massive sounds by guys who know what we love to hear!! No less than 12 dj’s on the line up and in true Distortion form the alcohol will be in abundance and all this for $10 if you mention Distortion at the door. It’s also one of Distortion Crews Rachel’s farewell so lets give her one royal send off Line up: Guillotine vs Crysist Enochi vs SinghA Rubio vs Tokoloshe The Unthinkables Struz vs Swiss Dub Neon Youth Critter vs Dogg Bless Simply a massive line up and this will be one crazy night so spread the word and come join in the festivities!!" go back to the basics, mix easy songs etc, then slowly bring in the more technical tracks when you are feeling confortable again
-
yeah the white noise is supposed to leak over into the drop, youll notice it happens alot in some productionspeople like modek and that style) i dont know why people started doing it though. feedback all the things man, every bit of feedback is worth something to me
-
mine ive been trying to beef up the drop all day and i cant find a decent way of doing it, the build up was original so much bigger, but i had to tone it down cause there was just so much lost energy when it went to the drop.
