Was listening to public fm radio and could not believe my ears. The announcer was recommending Limewire for music downloads to listeners. She had a favourable response after playing a few more songs and then went into detail on how to get on their website. She said it was perfectly legal to download file sharing songs. I always thought it was do not pass go, go strait to gaol if you downloaded from Limewire or Bitorrent. Like to hear what Dennis thinks of this. FabDJ

Good idea I like the wheels it will be easy to tow see if the 18" sub fits in it.

So I dont need a N.I Card. just use the mixer as usual like when using two CD Decks and que with my headphones? I thought it would come out mono, but it may not really matter as its only P.A and you're not there to enjoy the spacial stereo effect sitting dead centre in an arm chair. FabDJ

Thanks everyone. I was going to use Virtual DJ Basic US 99 dollars 118 Aus. and a Native Instruments DJ2 Sound card connected to a Behringer 200 mixer. What do you think of this for a basic setup? Currently I have the mixer and use the headphone out on the laptop to one channel of the mixer and have to fade/cut on my laptop Dj software I would prefer to have two channels working on my mixer. I use the mike a lot as I do comedy and feel more comfortable with a mixer to mask the silence with a quick cut to a music track. FabDJ

Hi all I am trialling Virtual DJ software and can purchase the basic version for 118 dollars. It seems to be what I want as I am a lazy dj and prefer to party myself with the music sometimes on cruise control. Is it worth the money? I have had free downloads from other web pages that do about the same and its free. I was recommeded to use ATOMIX by a popular city club DJ who works hard for his money and plays to a different demographic. Maby I am buying a product with extra functions that I dont need. The only scratching I do is...... well, we wont go into that Fab DJ.

Thanks gentlemen I might try lowering the frequency cut off. I can hear muffled female voices coming through so it might be set too high. Ear plugs are an option too. FabDJ

Love the bass but after after four or five hours I have a very sore head Relocated it on the side of me, front of me facing away, 5 metres away facing in every direction. I have only one sub. Is there a sweet spot where it cancels out or is reduced. Want it hammering on the dancefloor not on the side of my head. Any suggestions please FabDJ

The drinks are reasonably priced perhaps because they don't pay anyone. Never see the same staff either, come to think of it.

I get friends to bring in stuff from OS for one third the price available here but kiss any warranty goodbye if you havent purchased it here. I have a high end audio pre amp sitting in my wardrobe that I cant use cause the source selector dial and internals fell apart after 6 months use. FabDJ

Tried picture is too large to fit cant reduce it as my laptop was infected last night and has to have hard drive reinstalled. Beware if you are asked to subscribe to a virus program as your anti virus protection has expired. It is a fake, only want your payment as they have installed virus also. My computer shop has advised me of this. Lucky all my stuff is on memory stick also FabDJ

Was going to buy speakers from Jaycar for about 100 bucks 120RMS but got some no name speakers from Byron Trader on e bay for 118 bucks 350RMS. Thought of them as disposable for a new years eve party. They were surprising good and at 98db@1m twice as loud as my home speakers, had the mixer volume on 1-2 all night and very good quality for hanging out a caravan door (it was pouring down before the dancing started.) In comparison to JBLs they are crap but in my opinion as I'm just starting out the difference between good sound and ordinary is about 4 beers. FabDJ

Thanks Guys Feel much better already Great support ,I'm almost crying. 200 bucks a year from this PPCA thing seems ok. I spend more than this a year on aftershave. Have been a company director and know all the requirements of setting up a company. So Im looking at owner operator, PPCA Licence PL insurance through my current insurer. Sister does web pages, mates are printers Just need the wife to carry the subs and I'm laughing. Where can I contact the PPCA for a licence? Sounds like the RSPCA. Fab DJ.

No I just play songs and cut to the next on my mixer My friends dont seem to mind as they are usually off their faces and at end the night we sometimes bash each other up. Us old baby boomers know how to have a good time. Fab DJ.

Like the blue led lights Would get some myself but might look goulish like Joe Hall reading the evening news. Up- lighting does nothing but remove wrinkles. Perhaps.... I will look into it. Fab DJ.
