  1. Went to a 18s party at a scout hall in East shit creek. The hired Dj did not turn up so a replacement Dj was sent by the same company. He was from an eastern country. Played Abba music all night. Kept asking people to get up and dance but nobody could understand him. The only person dancing was birthday girl and her friend cause daddy paid for the diaster and she had too.
  2. Also heard to place audio cable at 90 degrees across power cables to reduce interference.
  3. Thanks source The last photo of 6 Power points is what I will get made up.looks like 15-20Amp power points others look like 10Amp (earth size) Will use 3 colours also as it looks good and I wont fuck up. Will use with 6 point switched power boards and to be safe, double pole also. Thanks again for your advice.
  4. Thanks Source Have electrician mates who work on big building sites who can knock me up one if I want. Would like to see pictures of DJ boards for them to copy.
  5. Hi everybody Does anyone carry three phase switchboards for use in clubs, pubs? Most stages have three phase outlets for bands to use. Would save chasing circuits to distribute your audio /lighting loads.
  6. The amp sounds good. I overdid it for an amp and cant carry the thing 20kg. I should have bought a 350Wrms per channel amp and hired a bigger unit when required. Stuck with this monster now. its in a plastic roadcase that slides everywhere.

    Small desk

Hi all I built this small box to cover the laptop keyboard on the weekend for my mouse pad so I would have more room on my foldable picnic table for other things, drinks. I discovered my laptop is not square as the box did not fit very well over the keyboard. Painted it black and then gave it 5 coats of white oil shellac for a car duco finish. The optical mouse is now rooted and I had to sand it back to a rough finish to get the cursor to move on the screen. Last DIY for a while.

    Small desk

Thanks Hearts That's cheaper than buying the timber I could modify the unit to suit. Ta.

    Small desk

Hi all I want to have the smallest lightest, cleanest desk available. I would like to have it the size of A4 diary opened, say 2 A4 pages side by side with a 15"screen at the end. That would be the size I need for my mixer and room to move a mouse on a flat surface. I would like my laptop keyboard to disappear as it takes up too much room just a screen visible and all the cords and boxes out of site. I would sit this on a small foldable picnic table with just 1 power lead in and two XLR leads running out. Has anyone seen something like this? I can make something flat but the PC does not fold 360 degrees. and as soon as I pick up a piece of timber, things get out of hand.
  10. Yes now that you mention it, I have two NI cards showing up on my request to disconnect pop up. One has a audio icon and the other I dont recognise. Both wont respond to mouse clicks. Will contact NI for advice thanks.
  11. Swivel headphones are a pain in the arse I'm constantly wrestling with mine to put them back in their original shape. Might superglue the fuckers.
  12. Hi Guys Dont know if any of you have the same problem but when I go to disconnect the USB for DJ2 it wont give me permission to unplug. It just freezes. If I unplug anyway it freezes the PC totally and I have to do a force shutdown. The only way to disconnect is to shut down the PC in the normal manner disconnect the DJ2 usb and re start. I have the current version of Tractor Duo.
  13. In the old television days the cheapest way to deaden a hall was with insulation batts held in place with chicken wire. Did this for a recording studio but was too dead and had to leave some wall exposed till the balance was right.
  14. I got a empty plasterers bucket and lid off a building site and lined it inside with bubble wrap. The 200mm mirror ball fits in it a treat. Must paint it cause I keep forgetting to take it with me.

    Trolleys

I bought a trolley from Reject shop and made road cases that clipped on to other road cases. boxes to house stands and had neally all my stuff supported by these tiny wheels somewhere under the boxes and cases strapped together with ratchet straps. Was very proud of myself.pretended I was bringing it into a building when the wheels hit a brick paver and the whole lot collapsed. I would have made a mess of a passageway so trimmed it down to two loads , not one.
  16. Thanks Buck and Cupe Have pressed the button.
  17. What I sent in on that day, comes back to me at hotmail
  18. Every time I blog on to the forum I get a bucketfull of my emails on my hotmail when I get home at night, Is there a way I can stop this?
  19. Hell my first rig was a couple of walkmans and a balance control. Was hard work reading CD covers and guessing track numbers. Didnt even have time to get drunk and start a fight.
  20. Got Duo upgrade last night. The pops and glintches have stopped. Don't know if it was from me boosting the latency to 7.5 ms or getting the latest upgrade from N.I. Just have to learn how to arrange playlists, and I'm away.
  21. It does sound like a vinyl record. l have an internal wireless card. I made a note on 4-5 Ms and if it continues on Duo will make adjustment. Thanks kindly for your advice and support.
  22. Thanks Tubby Will switch everything off, dont know which version bought it from DJ City 2 weeks ago had to wait 6 weeks for delivery as they had run out. May have been an older version they got from somewhere as it was not the same as their advertised cd cover in newspapers and on the web. Hopefully upgrade will fix the problem as I wont like to play with constants drop outs.
  23. Hi All Just installed N1 2DJ and Tractor basic and hear pops and scratches on audio and waveform delays with scratches (both happen together) Does not happen with Winamp playing the same song. Has this happened to anyone? I am waiting for my free duo download in a couple of days and hopefully problem will go away. I much prefer Virtual DJ but got Tractor for free so I will give it a try.
  24. I had this problem too and cut the earth pin off a double adaptor for pc power. no more hum. Caused a rucus on a US forum with half opposed to the idea and others agreeing it was low risk as we are dealing with 12-15 volts here. Its called negative loop. I have the double adaptor clearly marked to show for PC use ONLY.
  25. Still waiting for my puter to be repaired. The shop's had it for 2 weeks. Second time I have picked up malware virus. Losing confidence with Trend Virus protection. I have to spend one hour on the phone to some droid in god knows where to get it set up again also when it returns.
