pretty sure when its NEW its in better condition than AS NEW. As eggsell said mate you'd have to revise your price, things do lose value over time buddy. It doesn't matter how much it cost when you bought it.

just do what you think is best. what you're comfortable with. As for keys, what genre are you mixing? Trance sounds much much better if mixed in key, in fact most genres do. But its just more noticeable in trance.

well can't speak for cbg but i have one track per cd, and no its not to look cool ejecting cd's all the time.....its because anymore than that and it becomes a risk. say you have 5 songs on a cd, imagine that cd fucks up at a gig, well thats 5 songs gone that you could have used where as if its 1 song well its no big deal. If you have the money and time i suggest one song per cd and label them with a cd labeler and put what you want on the label eg. bpm, key etc... obviously you want the track name and artist hehe. But with all the new gear coming out now i tend to use usb sticks more and more on the cdj's. And i will always have 2 with me so if one fucks up (extremely rare) you have another. so 2 usb sticks instead of a few hundred cd's, kinder on the pocket too haha.

just buy a portable HDD. Much cheaper than software

Firstly gandy good luck with it all. i use to help judge a few dj competitions a few years ago so my advice would be to keep it simple as you're far less likely to fuck anything up. You get these people that come in trying to do something crazy and generally fuck up. Secondly how long is your set?? 15 min? 30 min? if its 30 min or longer throw something in their that people will not expect, you'd be suprised how you can get some very postive reactions from a track that people haven't heard and breaks away from your genre for a short period of time, this actually stops your set from becoming boring. The three main things i looked for when judging was your track selection, crowd reaction and how confident you'd appear behind the decks and obviously your transitions. Never do that spin back change song bullshit to me that appeared as though you couldn't mix. One thing to remember is that the judges wont be pissed (most of the time) so your screw ups wont slip by them as it would for most of the people on the dance floor. Most importantly have fun!! but dont forget to keep it simple. Oh and dont throw effects on every 32 bars of every song.......TRUST ME

hey everyone just thought i would put up a track i made years ago (2006) with ableton 6......i think or it was ableton 7. First time i remixed something, everything is me besides vocals obviously. Its a track which came out in 2006 from gabriel and dresden called tracking treasure down. Most people should remember it regardless of what genre you prefer as it was a pretty big hit. Hi everyone i just though i'd pitch my mates new site that his made. Its basically a website where you can custom build a computer to your needs or you can purchase computers to a set spec or their is some build wizard on it that if you answer a few questions it recommends a computer for you. This is just a side business of his and i know for a FACT he doesn't make a shit load of profit from it, he just enjoys building computers. i have a folder for each year and within that i have the month of the year and within that folder i have genres.

i think it depends on the genre honestly. In trance its pretty important but other generes like electro and house i really dont think it makes a difference because the transitions are usually shorter than in trance....hence less time for people to really notice, if they actually care that is.

what kit you got gandy?? if its software is their any chance a delay could be occuring??

this contest is also based on a voting system. fair bit of spamming goes on too. Its basically a popularity contest, not too fond of these type of competitions. You could have a horrible horrible set but if you have 1000 friends that will vote for you, you could win. Doesn't seem fair to thye sets that are descent but dont get a chance
