  1. The reason I like the Concorde's are that they are very slimline and you can see exactly where on the record you are up to. the chunky block style carts can be a pain in that regard. Dont know if im crazy, but ive always found the chunky style carts to produce a bassier sound, probably because there is more weight on the needle.
  2. Thats fine, just let me know as soon as you know
  3. HAHA yeh man of course you can It'll cost ya! Certainly cost me a fortune!
  4. HAHA i thought about it and then laughed it off BTW> lamba.com.au selling normal SL3's $830 BUT they dont have serato warranty, they will only cover it with there own personal warranty. which could be fine (unless they go out of business)
  5. I 'just bought' 4 x Technics 1210M5G 'Grand Master' turntables.
  6. Hey Guys!! I've now had offer of $850 for the two turntables. I would like to sell them this week if at all possible. Anyone willing to go any higher? Thanks guys!

  11. Will do... Lamba, DJwarehouse and Storedj all say they guarentee the cheapest price... it will be interesting!
  12. yeah 1 song per disc is a little overboard, but doubles is a good idea... never know if you will accidentally scratch it or something during the gig.
  13. Hey Buck, Im set on just getting Serato SL3. Also, im not going to import or get from ebay because theres warranty issues. Thats why im looking to get it from a local supplier. Ill keep the thred updated with price updates that I get on the first post

  16. Congrats mate what brand/model with the tables again?
  17. Burn slow.... and use good media and a good burner. Pioneer burners have gernally had the best burn quality over time. They are not always the fastest, but the best quality with the lowest error counts after testing. I cant remember the best media off hand, but ill check through some of the last test results I saw.. I think Verbatim were generally very good. Personally I burn to TDK discs (not because their particularly good, but because i dont particularly care hehe)
  18. Hi guys, Anyone know of any cheap stores selling Serato SL3 ? I have checked... Lightsounds: ?? not advertised online Lamba.com.au: $830 delivered <-- No official serato warranty DMC Melbourne: $869 Delivered DJ Warehouse: $875 delivered DJ City: $885 Spank Records: $949 StoreDJ: $879 delivered Online music store: $899 Thanks for your help guys! and maybe this will help others looking to buy.
  19. The good thing is that the technics all come with dust covers so it wont cost you a cent
  20. I also got my technics serviced, I didnt notice any difference. I have a feeling they look at it and say, its a technics... what more can i do to service this beauty? lol you can tell if your decks are not holding speed etc.. by looking at the bumps on the side of the platter which is a good indication that things are working. like i said, i serviced mine even though there was nothing wrong.. i dont think ill bother doing that again as its just a waste of money. Generally the motors they use are top quality and ive never heard of a fault within the normal lifespan (10-15years), so general common sense maintenace should see you through. Things like... using the dust covers, keeping them clean. not thrashing the pitch slider etc.... love them and they will love you back.
  21. Or... download extended versions of those songs... yes they do exist...
  22. Mixing by ear is the most satisfying thing i think. once you master it, youll think using a bpm meter is cheating Dont worry if certain songs dont mix. You can use transitional tricks like vinyl stop effects etc... or simply let the music die and then press play on a track that youve specially queued up to kick in with some massively popular vocals that will make the crowd screem! I always thought djing had to be smooth mixing EVERY track and all had to flow, like house.. then slowly speed it up to dance... then back down and up... and dramatically changing genres a big nono.. but nothings further from the truth.. if you know your crowd and what they love, you cant go wrong.. dont go to wild lol but dont be afriad to "mix it up"/ I was in a club which played hi-nrg and then the dj pressed stop and played some grunge song (which was the biggest most popular songs at the time) and was requested in the down stairs rooms al the time... so the guy pressed stop in the middle of an NRG set... pressed play and the crowd went so mental.. never seen anything like it.. screw the rules!
  23. ? Sorry dennis, i have no idea what your talking about now? Ive been repairing PCs for 14 years so no, that doesnt "tell me how you know". Read what?
  24. Macs are only more stable because of the degree of lockdown of the OS. Windows has to contents with tens of thousands of hardware and software vendors,.. who knows.. hundreds of thousands perhaps... to make an OS work with all of those vendors is a near impossible task and I think microsoft have done a good job. Yes an experienced IT tech can set these things up correctly and have a stable system. Im one of those people. But im also a person who buys gear wwich has Microsoft Certified Drivers. I dont buy cheap and nasty gear and dodgy motherboards which blow capacitors etc... Macs are an all in one system (im generalising), they have picked the internal components carefully to give the user the best possible proven equipment for stability and reliablitiy. But hey, thats why there so expensive. Spend the same ammount on a PC as you would a MAC amd buy good equipment and dont abuse the thing and you will never have issues. Yes PCs can easily be as stable as macs, but the fact is that macs are more stable due to all reasons above. Dennis.. i wish you wouldnt be so grmpy/harsh, your turning me into a dam mac support! lol i will never buy one lol
  25. Theres a much greater change of a windows box crashing compared to a mac... thats just the sad truth
