iMac

Looking to invest in a desktop. I'll need an iMac and I'd prefer to have it better than my laptop.

Currently running a macbook pro, 2010 (i think) 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4gb RAM 1067 MHz DDR3.

I semi don't wanna break my bank with this purchase but it's inevitable that i'll be forking a bit of coin.

Anyways any suggestions as to where's the best place to look would help

I have an 2.8ghz 8 core Mac Pro with 2tb hdd, 128gb ssd, 10gb ram.

I scored it for under 1k (can't remember exactly). But I spent about 500 upgrading ram and Hdd's to what they are now.

Might be worth looking into doing something similar though

Yep - purchased it used, got it delivered to me then did a heap of upgrades to bring it up to scratch
