How 'good' are club DJs?

It goes into two ways:

Do you produce?

Yes > Are your productions good? > Yes > Some leniency will be shown but you should still know how to dj very well.

> No > Learn to mix very tightly

No> Learn to mix very tightly

Bottom Line: Learn to mix very well and keep your song selection banging and you won't have a problem. A producer with a couple of decent tracks to back him up will be shown a bit of leniency because of his skills in other departments.

Like phrasing and key matching alongside obviously beatmatching will be very high especially in places like the cross and sydney, but alot to do with who you know etc.

Alot of clubs have back bars and things for upcoming djs to practice.

More talking about getting booked now, where for any big gig its obviously going to be based on your productions.

But where op is concerned, where you are based only on your dj skills, track selection and ability to bring people to the club.

End of the day to get anywhere regardless you will need to be technically sound.
