Approaching Bootlegs

'bootleg' is used fairly broadly nowadays:

-Some people use it for simple mashups, which is just an acapella overtop of another track.

-Others use the term to describe an unofficial remix (usually created without official stems or endorsement from the label on which the original was released)

What are you looking at doing?

I'm trying to make an unofficial remix. I have the stems.

I'm a beginner is it just a matter of slicing and sampling or is there more?

If you got the stems then it's best to experiment. You can cut the audio files up and rearrange them or mangle them to sound different, the creativity is up to you. There's no rules and this is a great time to learn. You can shoot me a pm any time if you need anything :)
