tubby Posted August 26, 2010 Share Posted August 26, 2010 I paid about $75 per deck to get serviced, and he also took out the notch at 0 when he had them opened up.when you check them out look at the strobe dots on te side of the deck. there's 4 rows. each should appear to be perfectly still at different pitchs (+6, +3.3, 0 and -3.3). Doesn't matter if the slider isn't perfectly at 3.3 to get it to stay still, the point is that it stays still, and so you know it holds pitch ok.also get a record and gently scratch, making sure the needle stays on ok and so the tonearm is moving freely.
