Domain backorders

Hey guys!

I am going to register the domain

www.soldios.com

in august when it expires, but im thinking of putting in a back order to ensure that I get it (I should get it anyway, seeing as the owners aren't using it, but just in case!)

Can someone please help explain this to me, or suggest a better service to do it perhaps?

I take it you pay $20 and you automatically go into the bidding for that domain, then if you win, they give you your first years registration in the $20 fee you paid earlier?

i don't know about backorders, i've only ever bought new domains

if the owner re registers it for another year your backorder gets pushed another year though.

You only go into the bidding if the owner lets it expire.
