Is the new swanky tunes track a ripoff?

I heard this track on the new Dada Life mixtape, and thought it was a remix of an old song by Roman Flugel called Gehts Noch. After looking at the track listing I realised it was a new track called The Edge, by Swanky Tunes and Hard Rock Sofa.

Have a listen to both... not sure if they have just ripped it off and claiming it or what

Nah heaps of dutch leads are really similar, i actually think the drop in that song sounds alot like antidote too.

Nah, thats not just similar.. It has the same lead pattern, sound altered slightly and even has the same bass line.

That's a total rip.

I agree heaps are similar, but the dutch melody is exactly the same. I'm sure there are probably more examples as pretty much nothing is original these days but this definitely stood out.

Either way it's a crap song lol, but yeah with the dutch sound dunno if i would call it a straight rip, thats why the whole dutch thing died they eventually ran out of different ways to arrange bleeps lol

Yeah maybe its something to do with purchasing some sort of copyright to use the hook or melody? I dunno!

Royalty free samples/loops, can legally sample up to certain amounts of other songs etc lots of legitimate reasons.
