Addi Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 I heard this track on the new Dada Life mixtape, and thought it was a remix of an old song by Roman Flugel called Gehts Noch. After looking at the track listing I realised it was a new track called The Edge, by Swanky Tunes and Hard Rock Sofa.Have a listen to both... not sure if they have just ripped it off and claiming it or whatRoman Flugel - Gehts NochSwanky Tunes & Hard Rock Sofa - The Edge Quote
GREMM1S Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Nah heaps of dutch leads are really similar, i actually think the drop in that song sounds alot like antidote too. Quote
russell Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Nah, thats not just similar.. It has the same lead pattern, sound altered slightly and even has the same bass line. That's a total rip. Quote
mattus123 Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 thats a tough call, certinaly sound VERY similarswanky tunes have obviously added extra stuff and revamped it a bit.bit controversial Quote
Addi Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 Nah heaps of dutch leads are really similar, i actually think the drop in that song sounds alot like antidote too.I agree heaps are similar, but the dutch melody is exactly the same. I'm sure there are probably more examples as pretty much nothing is original these days but this definitely stood out. Quote
GREMM1S Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Either way it's a crap song lol, but yeah with the dutch sound dunno if i would call it a straight rip, thats why the whole dutch thing died they eventually ran out of different ways to arrange bleeps lol Quote
mattus123 Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 i made a similar post a while backviewtopic.php?f=43&t=8843maybe the same reason can be applied to this scenario as the example i gave in that thread ^ Quote
Addi Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 Yeah maybe its something to do with purchasing some sort of copyright to use the hook or melody? I dunno! Quote
GREMM1S Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Royalty free samples/loops, can legally sample up to certain amounts of other songs etc lots of legitimate reasons. Quote
