i agree with using it without the DJ, sounds better. Think i should put DJ in brackets after it? - 'SysTatic (DJ)'
-
Sweeet That just makes it an even better reason to use it. I think im gonna roll with it
-
ah k thats alright then coz i thought of it and liked it fair bit, i could just write it as systatic (DJ) ? Then it would differ from them
-
and lol @lurk6r. It could either work or be epic fail lol
-
sol, there is a band called systatic, from canada, but still a band nonetheless and they are active coz just put an album out according to their site. Out of these names trophic is the only one i can't find anybody else in music under, what do yous think? I like the other names but i want it to be original, as there is other people active under those names at present.

My thoughts: -The levels of the songs vary alot - i.e. the outgoing song dies alot in volume before the incoming track is at full volume, so you get a drop in the sound levels which disrupts the whole feel of a mix a bit -transitions are quite often for a mix this long. Alot of the songs probably just needed the last minute mixed with the intro of the next one for a longer mix, instead of trying to mix out during the song. You wouldn't have needed as many tracks this way as well -Transitions happen very quickly, makes them feel a bit rushed. Transitions can quite easily be spread over 4 or 8 bars, gives them that 'seamless' feel to them. -You had some good tracks in there though and it was an improvement over the last practice i heard you upload. I'm no expert myself im only learning like you, but this is just what i picked up, i'm sure there will be others with more experience than me that will know what im meaning, or give some more tips on the mix for you. As for if it is worthy of a smoke machine thats purely up to cap, as its his money lol.

Internet research find both systatic and scission are both taken by bands in canada and USA respectively, do you think this is an issue? I kinda want it to be original. I found this word - trophic. Meaning Relates to food/nutrition. All my mates bag me about my eating, so kinda suits. what do yous reckon of trophic as a name?
-
sishun im pretty sure.
-
only bad thing is, just found a bad under the same name - http://www.facebook.com/scissionband dang
-
yer fair few people call me duffman but i was thinking of using something different for a dj name. @lurk6r, now you say it, scission does sound better without dj in front of it.

Hey there, Been trying to think of a DJ name for myself, few friends have come up with some suggestions, wanna know if you guys think they are cool or shit ha. DJ Dicrotic - means double beat (of a pulse, specifically) DJ Systatic - means come together DJ Scission - means split/division Mainly picked for cool meanings and haven't found any one else under that name on the net (I want it to be original). If you think these are all shit and have a better suggestion tell us as well. Cheers guys

Anybody know how the file structure works, does it save a separate file for each song? Coz what you could do is keep a folder with all the files on your laptop then sync between that folder and the sd cards, and you'd always have all your cue points handy on both without having to manually copy them every time. A free Program i started using is called synctwofolders (for mac). Not sure if they make windows version for you other folk, but im sure there is an equivalent. Thought this might come in handy for your situation
-
bit of fucking die as they come in would go down real well i reckon

internet got reset so i could download shit again ha. This was a little while ago but Just had a listen. Couple of the transitions i noticed were a bit out but then you fixed em, but otherwise it was good. Track selection was good, I liked how it flowed. Nice one all up man
-
^And what he said too. Especially when you doing your first mix. Trying to mix out during a track is harder than the basic intro-outro mixing. 32 beat intro-outro mixing is all you really needa do for your first time man. Match the phrases and the beats and your half way there. Choose some tracks that flow well and you'll have something decent to put up

^What he said

Cheers for all your comments guys this is exactly the feedback i'm looking for
