It takes a little time to set up your laptop to record with software like audacity separately from the webcam recording but once all those settings are set up it doesnt take long to set up in the future.
This exact thing happened to me on Friday nights bucks party...i can't remember my exact song choice because i was hammered at the time but i do recall playing this particular song sounds like you had a ripper night
ive experienced this static on every djm i've used though, i don't think its a hardware problem. rca's carry static, you can be shocked by rca's, anyway for now all seems fine as my rig is earthed fully
I've never done dj school, but i'm thinking you'll learn a fair bit. They'll teach you how to beat match, key match with the pitch fader, eq mix and how to use effects.
next two weeks as follows tonight bucks party tomorrow 21st thursday platform 1 2hour minxandmeow set from 11-1 saturday(early) 21st saturday(late) 1 hour minxmeow set at after dark social club
if you're not in a rush, i'd wait for a bargain on 850's, you should be able to squeeze them in your budget....it will be a big squeeze but doable nonetheless.
you will most likely start promoting before you get to play in a club. a lot of clubs these days want you to promote for them before they let you dj (if you aren't hooked up). when i started out..on the nights i played i'd bring my crew of around 30 peeps down with me. the club hooks us up with a couple free entries and drink cards to spread around. after you get your rep up clubs will start asking you to play for them. speaking of anna lunoe i supported her and wax motif a couple of weeks ago...absolute babe - the djm fucked up during her set though! but dont compare yourself with anna lunoe, there is a big market out there for girl djs, especially babin ones
No point really discussing what your goals "should be". You are an individual so don't go basing your goals around what other people have achieved. When the time is ready for you to move onto something new you'll know because you'll either a/ get bored with what you're doing or b/ feel like a new challenge. Right now you have a challenge which is to build up your skills and rep - that's all you should worry about. Ministry of Sounds isn't going to care about your mixtapes (unless its ridiculously unimaginably ridiculous), you have to make a name for yourself first... I think you're getting a little ahead of yourself lol - once you're good enough for MoS you'll have a better idea of how to achieve that goal. Also as you start to play clubs you affiliate yourself with all sorts of promoters - you will most likely start selling tickets to events like Stereosonic (the sucking dick phase) and so you can try and network your way into opportunities depending on how juicy your lips are.
