dig deep on beatport. there's a lot more on there than just the top 100. broaden your horizons and look through the genre section of whatever your after. Could spend weeks doing that alone. thne there's other websites like stompy, whatpeopleplay, traxsource, juno etc... you should stick a post in the introduction section with a link to any of your producitons. Let us hear them.

I was running my own night called BeDeep in Glasgow. Also played at various other nights every now and again. Over in Australia now though so thats the night finished anyway. Who knows, may start one up here when i'm settled.

I'm not talking about stealing music. I'm talking about unreleased original material. I've had a few tracks off of people, some from sound cloud too actually, that Traktor just doesn't recognise properly. I've had tracks load with no waveform.. difference to this case is they still played, they didn't unload. Thats's why I asked, might be the same problem but on a worse scale if he plays unreleased stuff, i.e. not bought from beatport, whatpeopleplay or any other reputable digital outlet.

I used to have a residency in a bar back home that had a 3am closing time. Some nights it would be busy but you always got the odd night that just emptied at around 12am. Lots of things can have a factor on how busy a pub is. Certainly in Glasgow anyway. Time of the month has a bearing with regards to when people get payed. Weekend before pay week is usually quiet. If there's a big night or 2 on in town pubs empty around 12 and people hit the club. I've played to the bar staff a couple of times. It's better than having a mix in the house anyway... free booze and wages.

Where are you getting your music from? Is it bought and paid for or do you get some of it from blogs etc? If the latter then maybe the files aren't coded properly so traktor doesnt recognise them the way it should. If you are buying all your tracks then I have no idea why it's doing this. Especially after re-installing and trying the other suggestions.

hmm.. in that case it might be worth trying to ground the Audio 8 to the mixer. Can't say i'm 100% sure if it'll make any difference to your feedback but it may be worth a shot.

Ah right, with you now. I don't use the software pass through. What mixer are you using? My Set-up is 1210's with a DJM 600. If i'm using timecode vinyl my channels are set to line in. If i want to play a real record I just switch it to phono. Tables are ground to the mixer anyway, so doesn't make any difference switching between phono and line. I can't remember off hand what the various settings are on the Audio 8 so can't say how i set that up at the moment i'm afraid.

Yeah i've ripped some stuff. Always just used my Audio 8 soundcard. Although I have tried recording into Ableton but when I done this traktor would never analyze the track properly. I find just recording through traktor works just fine. Although I'd look into wy your having to boost the sound so muchfor pass through. It's always pretty close when I switch. Obviously some records are quieter than other so the usual gain adjustments should apply. nothing out of th eoridnary though.

I would love to have everything in lossless, but can't afford to with the amount of music i have yeah it's a total rip off buying .wav files. I stopped using beatport for that reason. They charge way too much for .wav files. Ideally I would rather buy on vinyl but the cost of that is ridiculous too. If i like a records i'll check if it's available digitally before I buy it. Unless its one of those ones that just needs to be in the record collection.
