ARMED RADIO GUESTMIX COMPETITON. PRIZE!!!!
CBG replied to djarmed's topic in Competitions, Battles & Collabs
damn. i got all nervous cus i thought you were gunna announce the winner! lol -
I dont think I've ever seen a club (these days) without CD players
-
true in some ways... yes they do bring in a lot of money. but they also cost us a lot. look at all the health problrms cigs cause. they are almost always long, painful..expensive deaths. if the govt could raise the money some other way (or save it) and slowly ween us off cigs. it would work. billions on the war, billions on fucking boat ppl?! the money is there, we're just spending it the wrong way
-
commercial can be a real drag tho, when all they want you to play is warp 1.9 and speak no americano
-
Ill try and remember, hopefully I'll hear my mix next week
-
at least you can admit they're stupid. I thought them over hundreds of times and still dont understand them. Sure if you're addicted, you have somewhat of a reason to smoke them... but otherwise. why? The apparant relaxing feeling it gives you... is actually a combination of your surroundings and the deep breaths you take when you inhale. Slows your heartrate, lowers your blood pressure etc. I just wonder what would happen if they slowly lowered the nicotine in smokes, until it was all gone. Me and my gd were talking about the other night, eventually, I believe, ciggarettes will be very uncommon/non-existent. Society, particularly AUS will just make it so unnaceptable, and expensive to do it. that it will eventually be taboo. Ohhh and... motivation is cool!

I dont understand smoking... tbh
-
i get ear fatigue. everything just sounds flat and the melody us just lame. its so annoying. u just wana keep going!
-
Good find. Interesting though... looks dodgy tbh.
-
In fact they are fairly distinct. Trance is only played in a handful of venues in melb, house is played in hundreds.
-
dude, none of us here (maaybe Armed) are succesful trance DJs all the advice you gave was directed for the trance scene. But you made it seem as it was widespread across all genres. House DJs can start in Parties>Pubs>Country Clubs>Clubs etc. Trance... probably cant. We value most of your advice, but you gave it way too forcefully.
-
yeah, I honestly think the 'updated subscribed threads' feature in control panel is a top priority. Its so handy because you never miss a thread, you can always come back to them
-
I'm knocking on the door of trance with my progressive stuff, but still, I DJ a lot of house and commercial. Prog ftw tho
-
imo, the trance seen, in AUS in fact, is a lot different to your house/electro/commercial scene. YOU CAN get work at lot of low patronage venues as a house DJ. You cannot as a trance DJ, its just not big enough. So a lot of his 'advice' did not apply. Hence why i just read it and then forgot it... lol
-
I would lovw a control panel where your subscribed thread are displayed as bold when they have a new post. The problem with the new posts button is that sometimes you'll look at it, then go somewhere else, then go to it again and all the threads with new posts are gone. meaning i have to wait till someone bumps it again to be notified
-
a bit strange that no one has replied to this. I had a quick listen the other day but never got time to write anything. Very profesional sounding, nice vocals, however they do get very repetitve. Sorry I'll have to listen to it again later, I've gone blank
-
I think this is where the VIP section needs to b developed. Have things in there that ppl really wanna get to, but cant until they fulfill a criteria
-
i have a meeting for it in about 2hrs actually. things havent happened as smoothly as id hoped. but i reckon in a month it'll be going
-
sounds like an interesting mix. will give it a listen tommorow night and give my thoughts. Just bump it
-
perc is sick man and that sub bass. I only got through the first half cus im heading a gig in the country. Sounded pretty sweet tho dude
-
how long should/could you leave your mixer on.
CBG replied to Buck_Choi's topic in Mixers & Controllers
heatsink can overheat. Pretty rare on a quality mixer though, especially when its not processing sound. Also.. LEDs can go out lol. Ummm not to mention general power consumption. The answer to your question is that you can leave it on for aaaages (weeks). But my advice is dont, its just pointless and a waste of energy -
Whilst I understand where you are coming from. What I said about pubs was directed at someone who has never (very rarely) DJ'd live... My comment about pub DJing was to Nikko who's never played at a club/pub, therefore any experience in this point of is career, is a good experience. Reading a crowd is impossible to learn in a bedroom and also hard to learn at festivals because the crowds are more tolerant of the music. However, if you play a song that isnt widely liked at a pub/club, you can see groups of people STOP and walk away. I dunno, i'm just trying to say that you have obviously achieved more that Nikko (and I), and my advice was directed towards a total novice in live DJing
