  1. 2x CDJ 350, 1x Reloop RMX-40 Mixer 2x shittiest speakers EVER. One day I'll get good ones.
  2. Might even get a snap of my setup tonight/tomorrow.. Very basic lel.
  3. Andyman: have you got any suggestions man? I thought of it, as I was listening to a mixtape by a well-known DJ from a few years back, and enjoyed the way it was dropped, and figured, if *I* enjoy it, others might.. But definately open to suggestions/feedback.
  4. Shit, didn't even notice this thread was replied to. Thanks guys. I've also been directed to deejay portal as well, which helps.. much love.
  5. Howdy.. So.. I have an idea of making a mixtape of a number of "Melbourne" tracks, but throwing acapellas over the top of the drops (I have created one with the Daft Punk - Technologic aca', which has been well received). I am desperately trying to find the Acapella of Bam's Workout (thats right, booty work, move your ass, go bezerk), but cannot find it ANYWHERE, I even tried to find Youtube of it, despite the quality. can anyone help, I'll be forever in debt <3. Biggest apologies if this is in the wrong section. It seemed relevant
  6. One thing I've noticed a lot - I've not really performed at any functions at this stage, but I can assure from watchign live gigs, mixing in your bedroom is totally differnet to mixing live. I personally will beat myself up a bit if I record something, and the mix isn't great, then I'll re-attempt and re-attempt. Great for doing promotional mixes etc.. However, while live, you can't crack it, you need to keep composure. So long as its not a massive slip, chances are the audience (the untrained ear) won't notice, or they'll just be too pissed to recognise. Keep confident and push through, and just make sure you bring in the next track well
  7. I think you need to actually register as a artist/dj/club/event etc etc etc.
  8. It's obviously the craze all over social media atm, every producer/dj is spamming the hell out of everyone for their vote. I personally believe Sparks and Fletcher will be up in the top 5. However, What's thoughts on top 5 placings?
  9. Smartassery taken out of the following sentance: but I wikipedia'd it already.. What it SOUNDS like to me, is when you burn a file from (for example) Nero burning ROM, and add the Artist - Title information to the CDA, so if you put it into a CD player, its going to read "DJ - Track"? Orrrrrr, am I way off?
  10. Great read - however, I've done a bit of looking into this, and can someone explain to me (in lamens terms) ID3 tags? Fanks in advance
  11. Ha! I thought the name was farmiliar. Quench nightclub in Frankston (Davies) had a DJ Competition only just recently, Roger That were the winners. https://www.facebook.com/RogerThatDJs are the DJ's who won. (not trying to advertise their stuff for what its worth, thought you were them )
  12. Hey guys.. Sorta had this idea floating for a few days, put it out on the decks and the response has been amazing so far. Even had some great feedback from the Bomb Squad boys themselves.. Have a listen, throw some feedback. There are a few less than average mixes, but overall, im stoked: https://soundcloud.com/trennaa/bomb-squad-meets-melbourne-bounce
  13. Hey guys.. Rather than creating a new thread, I thought I would just re-bump this one. Apart from Audacity, what other applications are recommended for recording live from a mixer? Any other suggestions? Thanks
  14. Thanks pal! I really appreciate it. At the moment, I'm seriously working on my phases, I am still starting out I guess, I know I missed a few phases/got them incorrect. I know I had a few flaws in this particular mix. I guess when I advance myself a little more, I'll do quicker mixes from song to song.. I really appreciate it though. Without trying to toot my own horn, however I'm yet to hear a negative review haha! I'd love to hear more criticism though.
  15. Hey guys.. I've worked pretty hard on things in my 'background' and finally released a 30 minute mixtape. There's still a LOT of improvement to be made, to be where I want to be, but im absolutely STOKED that since Saturday night I've had over 60 plays. The reviews i've had are amazing.. https://soundcloud.com/trennaa/trenna-tape Have a listen, and throw ANY kind of feedback you'd like. It's 30 minutes of commercial, bounce and bangers. I have got plans for my next mixtape which I'm going to start planning, and recording soon. Cheers
  16. Hi guys. I am attempting to place a number of playlists on two USB's. (two usb sticks with identicle songs/playlists for each CDJ). I already HAD tracks on USB's however for whatever reason going through my head, I formatted the two sticks to start a-fresh. I have built up playlists, and want to now export to the key, however when I do, I get this error message.. It seems though some of the songs are transferring, but when I plug the USB into CDJ, there's no informaiton. im sure you guys/gals will know whats going on.. im coming down with a cold, so my brains a bit fried at the moment, apologies in advcance.
  17. hey, i have a phone and it has a graph. does this count?
  18. Just thinking about this, this morning. I'm getting the vibe a lot of people are now turning to USB media for playlists/storage as opposed to the CD wallet?
  19. haha this will all be done WELL before anything like that. You raise a bloody good point about mixtapes. Thanks again.
  20. Actually had a play around.. It's TOTALLY different on USB now, navigating it I guess. Thanks for the pros/cons. I can imagine thousands of tracks (including a number of hour long mixtapes i've downloaded from artists) would take overnight/two nights process
  21. Ive installed Rekordbox, im dumping about 300ish tracks on there now, and exporting onto two USB's as we speak. will be interesting to see how it goes:) God damn it takes ages with rekordbox to analyse and export haha
  22. Oh wow. Never touched Rekordbox. I think I have the software on my laptop. Question in that case - I use AutoCue atm on the decks, if I use Rekordbox, is that going to affect Autocue?
  23. I've noticed it can be frustrating navigating on 350's if you have hundreds of files in one 'folder'/'directory' on USB, however, having it all alphabetically is a benefit. I guess the plus side of CD wallet navigation is having the songs listed in front/on a CD so you know what you're playing. I've also noticed a lag when you're selecting MP3 files from a USB, the navigation is quick enough, but selecting/loading/cueing the track can take a while. This is more for pros and cons of the three mediums, what peoples preferences are and why etc. So, I can use Rekordbox on 350's?
  24. Hi guys Wanted to get some feedback on this. I own 2x CDJ350's, so I have the ability to utilise USB/CD/MP3 cd.. Wanted to get some opinions on what people use, and why, and in what applications (live gigging - clubs, own equipment taking to private functions etc). Also pros and cons on using each media. Im learning, so im learning to use CDA media, however I have seen a lot of ease in USB, also had some erroneous files on USB which causes the USB to stop working (format and re-copy mp3 fixes this, but i can understand frustration if this was a live experience). Thanks
  25. Without trying to sound like a total twat, isn't it usual to have the gain sort of sitting roughly in the middle? (5)
