Tchami is blessing us with a double dose of house today! The first of this 2-track EP, “Aurra” rocks an optimistic demeanor. Vibrant stabs and soulful vocals lead the production straight into a joyful house groove. This one is sure to be a crowd pleaser on his current Confession tour. The second, “Shades” featuring Donnie Sloan and Ricky Ducati creates a more chilled out atmosphere, but keeps the uplifting momentum going. While much of Tchami’s label Confession lends to a dark and mysterious sounds, these tracks feel more like warm, welcoming embraces. The producer’s already applaudable collection of work just became even more impressive with this infectious dual release. Last time he put out new music was the collaborative No Redemption EP with his partner in crime, Malaa. Fans catching Tchami tonight at Elektricity in Pontiac, Michigan will get to hear “Aurra” / “Shades” hot off the press. The Confession tour continues on to Denver, Brooklyn, Toronto and more in the coming weeks. Enjoy! Tchami – Aurra / Shades Oh Dag Yo Photography © 2015 This article was first published on Your EDM. WHYLO is one producer that has been climbing the ladder. His first single featuring Swedish Red Elephant has nearly 4 million streams on Spotify alone. This being the 200th release on Tiesto’s Musical Freedom record label breeds a little bit more significance towards the artist. WHYLO is back with the most recent single of his collection titled “Dakota” and it is truly a grower. The single is an impressive collaboration. Right off the bat it begins with a country resembling pop vocal. Giving credit where it’s due, CIRE has been appearing on other big dance songs but he especially nailed his part on this one. The chill production is tropical and conveniently catchy which makes the drops a highlight of the track. Magical sounding, “Dakota” is a radio-worthy song and could transcend to the masses if it has the right reaction. Be sure to follow WHYLO on Spotify for more music! It’s hard to believe that k?d has only just now released his very first EP – then again, we just went through this with Ekali last week, so perhaps it isn’t that surprising after all. Releasing a collection of music is no longer necessary for artists in this streaming climate, but artistically, a full body of work like an EP or album can still hold significance. The new 6-track EP Find Paradise from k?d is a flurrying display of all the styles that he has shown in the past, as well as some that he hasn’t. It’s dubstep, it’s future bass, it’s dizzying drum & bass and so much more. While “Electronic Memories” works as a brilliant intro track to the EP, with dazzling future bass and fitting vocals from Mickey Kojak, the second track “Creator’s Flower” is more like a years-long journey. And where “Creator’s Flower” was quite frenetic, “Polluted Blood” is far more subdued as restrained, at least until about 70% of the way into the track. Though not labeled as an interlude, it more or less serves that purpose as it leads into the more dense “Find Paradise.” Brandishing beautiful Porter-esque vibes, it’s easily one of the best tracks on the EP. “Tokyo” brings back the chaotic sounds of “Creator’s Flower” with a bit more intent, transitioning into a fast-paced electro house, and finishing up with the pounding “Destroy The Universe.” Overall, it seems k?d has found his stride as a producer and artist, and Find Paradise is a fine example of how far he’s come in not even two years. Who says music has to be serious? This new cut from Matroda out today on Dim Mak called “Beef Stick” is destined to become one of those vocal anthems that gets the crowd going simply by virtue of that crazy sample. That isn’t to say the production isn’t fire, either… “Beef Stick” wastes no time in getting to the meat of the track (I’m so sorry) – a brief drum loops, some short vocals, and we’re off the races. The cheeky vocals are only further accentuated by the tight and boisterous production, inspiring feet to move and arms to flail. “What’s that one song that goes ‘she giggle thought of you, said you had a pencil dick’?” your friend will ask. “Why, that’s ‘Beef Stick’ by Matroda,” you’ll answer. Check it out below. This article was first published on Your EDM. Source: Your EDM Premiere: Matroda – Beef Stick [Dim Mak] Source

Leo Lauretti and Paul Arcane are both killing it right now with their music. Each have put out their fair share of hits this year that have radiated with success, earning support from Above & Beyond, Armin Van Buuren, and many more. I’m proud to give you their debut collaboration, “Luna”, that is yet another solid track from these guys, so good it was premiered by none other than Ferry Corsten last week! “Luna” starts off strong with a heavy bass line and thunderous beat that will shake any dance floor. The breakdown is stunning. It offers complete euphoria and tranquility before building into an even bigger, brighter drop that resembles the track’s title in perfect fashion. Listen to “Luna” below! I still remember seeing Whipped Cream for the first time at HARD Summer 2017 at the Green Tent, packed to the brim at 12:30 in the afternoon. At that moment, I knew she’d be something big. Now, having performed over 50+ shows this year thus far, including festival performances at HARD Summer, Shambhala, Audiotistic, Electric Zoo and more, she’s proven beyond a shadow of a doubt why we chose to also include her in our Artists To Watch in 2018 list. It’s been nine months since Whipped Cream’s last original song, but it’s been worth the wait. Before kicking off her Fall/Winter tour with more headline performances throughout the US, a Canada tour, and a special co-headline run with a fellow DJ & Producer TBA, she has released “BLOOD” via Deadbeats. “BLOOD” is everything we’ve come to love about Whipped Cream and more, as she sports a newly polished production style and reinvigorated passion for sound. It’s dark and malevolent, a trend we’ve seen appear heavily in 2018, though she of course imparts her own flavor on it. “This is my first original record in 9 months that I will be sharing. I took the last 9 months, to properly project what goes on inside my mind and put it into my music and I’m really happy I did that as I grew a lot more into my higher self. I have always been inspired by world sound and cinematic sound. Blood is a perfect blend of both yet also maintains an energy the human body will move to. Im really happy to start this next chapter with this song and finish this year off with more of my new music, each of which tells their own story. WHIPPED CREAM SZN is officially here” – C Listen to “BLOOD” below! Catch Whipped Cream on tour on the dates below. This article was first published on Your EDM. JOYRYDE has teamed up with OWSLA and, together, they’re about to hit us with something huge. In the social media post below the producer shares, “i’ve never done this before.. i’m ready now.” By, “i’ve never done this before,” we’re assuming he means put out a full body of work as JOYRYDE. Featuring only the label’s iconic logo, the post doesn’t give away too much — but all signs point to new music. Thus far, the innovative bass house producer has put out individual singles as quickly as he has finished them. While there’s an immediacy to his work, we’re also excited to hear what an EP or even an album from JOYRYDE might sound like. Remember, that Skrillex collab has yet to see an official release, so that’s a possibility, too. His hot streak of fire tracks including “The Box,” “Hot Drum” and “I Ware House” came to an abrupt stop last year. As RYDERS patently await more music, we can rest assured knowing that OWSLA is involved with this forthcoming release. We’re revved up to hear what JOYRYDE has in store! Stay tuned. A brand new EDM festival concept known as FestivalX will not go on as planned. In an official statement, organizers note “changes in artist availability” have forced them to cancel the four-date 2018 event series altogether. FestivalX was set to hit up Auckland on November 29, Brisbane on November 30, Sydney on December 1, and Melbourne on December 2. Now it’s apparent the traveling event won’t see any of those cities — at least not in 2018. “We set out to deliver the very best experience and the compromises to the proposed line-up did not meet the vision that we have for FestivalX,” reads the statement below. Although the news is a huge bummer for music fans, FestivalX promises this won’t be the last we hear of it. “More news will follow on our future plans for FestivalX — stay tuned to the website and Facebook page for more information. Second time is a charm? We’ll have to wait and see. FestivalX Canceled This article was first published on Your EDM. September finished off with quite a bang, including a new album from Getter and new singles from DJ Snake, Zeds Dead with Snails, Marshmello and Boombox Cartel with Flosstradamus. Check it all out on the latest Your EDM Week in Music playlist: Release Spotlight Getter released his new album Visceral, marking a big transition for the producer. Released on deadmau5‘s mau5trap label, Visceral packs in more emotion than you’d expect. We featured “All Is Lost,” “Colorblind (Interlude)” and “Release” from the album. DJ Snake collaborated with Selena Gomez, Ozuna and Cardi B for the mega-hit “Taki Taki.” We’re curious to see if this continues the hot streak Snake, Gomez and Cardi have each been on the past few years. Zeds Dead and Snails teamed up for “Magnets,” featuring live electronic duo Akylla. Akylla brings the track to a more raw direction. Marshmello pulled a surprise and collaborated with Egyptian vocalist Amr Diab. Mello clearly wants to make his brand known around the world, and pairing with iconic, local artists will certainly help. Boombox Cartel worked with Flosstradamus for the cheekily named “ID.” No, that’s the actual title of the song: “ID.” Save the laughs. This article was first published on Your EDM. Kayzo isn’t the only producer announcing his own label this week. In a press release sent out to members of the media, Kygo and long-time manager Myles Shear have announced the creation of a new record label Palm Tree Records in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment. “I’ve always been very fond of working with talented, undiscovered artists in my own releases,” Kygo is quoted in a press release. “It’s been an amazing process to watch these artists grow, and now I’m able to help projects I love by offering a label and management service with an incredible team.” “We are thrilled to be expanding our successful relationship with Kygo and Myles,” Sony Music CEO Rob Stringer is quoted. “Kygo is one of the most forward thinking and exciting artists in music today, and Myles is among the most innovative, creative artist developers around. This feels like a natural extension of our partnership as we develop together the musical output of Palm Tree Records.” “We couldn’t be more excited to be growing our relationship with Rob Stringer and all the great people in the Sony Music family through this new partnership,” Shear is quoted. “As a manager, it’s a thrill to be realizing this vision with the partner who I’ve created everything with up to this point.” No release plans or signees have yet been revealed. In a statement posted to social media today, Chicago’s popular venue The Mid has announced its imminent closure in February 2019. The venue has been home to many if not most of EDM’s touring artists who come through the Windy City, and its closure will more than likely leave a significant hole in the midwest. The Mid says the reason for the closure is due to “recent expansion in the West Loop and Fulton Market District.” “Unfortunately, the time has come where the MID’s doors will be closing on February 5, 2019. These last remaining months will be a celebration of the past and a toast to the future. We want to thank all the fans, artists, employees, agents, managers, and promoters who have supported us throughout this era. As a token of our appreciation, we are putting together some very special events leading up to that “One Last Song.” It’s been an incredible run to say the least but now it’s time to turn the page as we raise our glasses to what will be the end of an era, and the beginning of our next chapter.” — Lucas King and Nick Karounos, owners, co-founders King and Karounous also own Prysm and Concord and have plans to open at least one more venue in the area. Read the full statement from the venue below and prepare for a full list of official closing parties to be revealed very soon. This article was first published on Your EDM. Steve Aoki wants to get in the studio with Elon Musk. Yes, you read that correctly. In an interview for Buzzfeed’s AM to DM video segment, Aoki revealed he likes to be influenced by people outside of music. That’s the stuff that really “pushes the needle,” in his opinion. So, to collaborate with Aoki all that’s required is a creative mind. And, at least a moderate appreciation for electronic music. “I would love to have him in the studio with me and make some music,” he said in reference to Musk. “I just need ideas. I need creative flow. I need energy, and then we kind of vibe off that.” This is the same reason why he did a song with J.J. Abrams, and other non-musical minds. Aoki’s take on collaborating is definitely interesting, but that’s probably partly why he’s so great at what he does. Now that we know nothing is off limits, who would you like to see the producer collaborate with? Watch the clip below and let us know! DMA’s are a fantastic rock band in Australia that have released countless gorgeous singles. Many of these songs have streamed millions of plays as the band continues to flourish and grow. Their track “The End” recently became available to remix via a remix contest and one of the submissions is hot! Usually sticking to his trap roots, Yvng Jalapeño is proud of his ability to hone a grimey deep house style on his version of “The End.” Already garnering support from DJs such as The Ashton Shuffle, the song boasts huge deep house bass lines and electric guitar rifts through the drops that in combination with anthem-like vocals, creates for an essential energy that a huge club track has to have! During a debut performance in Wuhan, China last night, Martin Garrix debuted a new song and it’s already one of our favorite things we’ve heard from him this year. Unfortunately, we’ll probably have to wait a while for this one to come out. According to Martin Garrix Hub, one of the best sources for Martin Garrix news anywhere, the song stems from an earlier demo played and composed by Garrix on Instagram stories just last month. During the demo session, Garrix captioned one story, “Will not finish and release this anytime soon don’t get to [sic] excited, but you might hear it at the shows one day.” Well, seems like that day has come and gone! With a beautiful melody and incredible progressive vibes, this is one Garrix tune we can’t wait to see the light of day. BRAND NEW MUSIC!!! It’s pretty difficult to get a response out of both the real Diplo and the What Would Diplo Do? Twitter account, but it seems producer Dame Dash and Kanye West have gone and done it. In a video posted to Twitter by Kanye last night, Dame Dash can be seen flexing a new beat. “Imma send you this beat […] had me come cook some shit up, get in the lab. Make shit up. Fuck all that other dumb shit n***a, we in the studio making mothafuckin’ records. And I got more so just let me know.” Except… these aren’t Dame Dash’s beats at all. This is the beat to Diplo’s “Sarah” off Florida, released 14 years ago. pic.twitter.com/tL6YOdzO6q — ye (@kanyewest) October 4, 2018 Obviously some people noticed from the tweet and both @diplo and @_diplo_ responded. This is my actual song tho https://t.co/yoQl3Uf9gO — Diplo (@diplo) October 4, 2018 pic.twitter.com/MRJr9HahaW — Diplo (@_diplo_) October 4, 2018 Could it be just for sampling purposes? Sure. But it damn sure seems like Diplo wasn’t aware of it. And then there’s the whole part of Dame Dash claiming he “cooked” some beats up, as if they were his own. There’s no fault to Kanye here, simply being sent beats and getting excited and posting the video. We don’t expect him to know the discography of every artist who’s ever lived. But for Dame Dash to act so excited and claim that these were his beat when he almost definitely knowingly got them, if not directly from a Diplo source, then from somewhere else pre-made, is highly suspect. All things considered, this will likely blow over before the week is done, but the internet never forgets. This article was first published on Your EDM. My love for dubstep is well documented, just look through my post history. But, few know that I also have a deep passion for the ambient and downtempo sounds of Azedia, Maribou State, Ta-Ku, Gold Panda, and others. It’s the reason why when I received “Glisten” by PINES in my inbox, I was immediately enamored with the soft beats and whimsical production. “Glisten” seems to take after its namesake, likely no coincidence. The track begins with a very subtle melody, accompanied by pitched vocal chops, before the main beat comes in. A delicate arpeggio creates suspense for the more complex and full drop that follows, a flurry of synths and chords that are ever so pleasing to the ear. James of PINES says, “This is one that we kept coming back to. I’ve always liked the frantic feel of the track. For me, it has a uniquely emotive feel that takes me on a bit of a journey every time I listen.” Adam adds, “For me the combination of the lush evolving pads transforming into more brash almost future-bass style synths with a driving house beat captures an innocent, raw energy perfect for both headphones and the dance floor. We can’t wait to play this one live.” Play this one on your drive home or when you just need to relax… listen to “Glisten” by PINES below. This article was first published on Your EDM. ESKEI83 is releasing his brand new single ‘Make The Record Skip’ today, and we have the premiere of this wicked sound. The German artist is a DJ battle champion, and is about to blend production and DJing for a series titled #MakeTheRekordSkip. This track pulls together scratching and mixing elements alongside its edgy bass drops and crisp drum programming. ESKEI83 says of this exciting new project: “The new single is a hybrid of heavy bass music that will work for all bass heads all over the world, but also impress #RealDJing fans because it has scratches in it (that will be performed live on my shows) and also features old school record sounds – the prominent noise/sound in the drop is a needle skipping and scratching over a vinyl record. The idea behind this track is to go so hard with the crowd that the needle skips on my turntable.” Take a listen to our premiere here and pick up ‘Make The Record Skip’ here. One of the hallmarks of finally making it as an artist in electronic music seems to be creating your own record label. Different than the world of pop music and major labels, electronic artists are more likely to create their own imprints to push the artists they care about most. Kayzo has just announced the creation of his own label, Welcome Records. “Hey guys, I’m so stoked and proud to announce that @welcomerecs is finally here. I started this record label with the intentions of releasing music from artists that I think are pushing the boundaries and opening new doors musically with electronic and all other styles of music. I’m proud to announce the very first single will be coming in November by some of my closest friends. More info coming soon. For now go follow @welcomerecs for all updates! Thank you all so much. I’m so excited to bring this to life.” You can expect most, if not all, new Kayzo music to be released on Welcome Recs, but not before he shares some music from his “closest friends.” Could it be something from The Binches? We’ll have to wait and see. Photo via Rukes.com This article was first published on Your EDM. Source: Kayzo Reveals New Record Label, “Welcome Records” Source

For an artist who’s been active since 2014, the last year and a half have truly been a breakout time for Trivecta. Hopping on tours with Illenium, Seven Lions, Tritonal, and Kill The Noise, as well as getting support from the likes of Don Diablo, The Chainsmokers, Arty, Gareth Emery, and Tom Swoon, everyone was getting to know his name. Now, Trivecta returns to Monstercat with the massive track “Axis.” Pushing a bright and poppy sort of bass music, á la Chime or Fox Stevenson, the track also exudes a massive dark bass with a beautiful melody, influences no doubt gleaned from his time on tour. There are still more live shows to expect from Trivecta in 2018, and more material which will make 2019 his biggest year yet. Check out “Axis” below. This article was first published on Your EDM. The dust has settled from the Datsik controversy, but still more questions than answers remain. Including, but not limited to, will he make a comeback? And, is there coming back from all that in the first place? Newly surfaced screenshots suggest that, despite everything, Datsik is keeping his chin up and working on new music. While some of his fanbase felt personally attacked and betrayed by the allegations, it seems others have stuck by him through it all. To a loyal fan he writes, “I really am grateful to have people like u to help me keep my head up in the dark times. It’s been tough over the last 6 months, but thru it all I’ve gotten sober and been working on a ton of new music. Thanks for ur continued support, it really means the world to me!” To another he talks of a potential comeback, “No plans yet, but I will!” It’s great news to hear the producer has gotten sober, although the allegations of sexual misconduct still loom overhead like a dark cloud. If there is coming back for Datsik, perhaps a proper apology is in order — his official statement following the accusations failed to mention the words, “I’m sorry.” On the other hand, that may be his attempt to maintain his innocence. Only time will tell what happens next. See the screenshots below. Datsik Talks New Music & Comeback H/T EDM.com | Photo via Piper Ferguson This article was first published on Your EDM. One of our favorite rising house acts, Actntrl is back with another steady burner. “Drip Sweat” marks Actntrl’s debut on L’America, as a tech house rendition of a classic mid-2000’s hit any avid music listener will recognize instantly. This track uses the nostalgia of David Banner’s “Play” to its advantage, but thrives on its own with an all new, original mix that perfectly fits today’s scene. The lyrics lend to the catchy nature of this production, with a four on the floor drive that’s impossible to resist. Dark notes are countered with lush vocals, while a familiar, pounding tech house beat is complimented by Actntrl’s own signature sound. This one has a dangerous way about it. Raised in Hong Kong with Argentinian roots and currently residing in Toronto, Canada, Actntrl brings an international flavor and a unique perspective to the renaissance of tech house.
