  5. bahaha Gandy isn't having a good day....
  6. haha it's a bit of fun for about 30 seconds, then i get sick of it lol
  7. ooohhh dear, are you even reading it? i said the people in the small clubs being lazy won't make it. Obviously i know everyone has to start somewhere.... if you read it properly without these overly aggressive eyes you obviously have now you would have realised i said that the people who take the lazy way out won't make it.... ffs this is ridiculous..... what started out as a post of "live and let live" has got out of hand =\ i don't need to think about why i do it at all.... i know why, and that's for fun. I don't expext to become a superstar dj....
  8. wait... i'm not talking about going to see tiesto or something, i'm talking about a nobody dj at a local club or someone that does house parties. Obviously a big name dj you expect them to play properly, but i'm saying for someone in their bedroom or at a small local club i really don't care, because they will never get to the famous stage.... so comparing it to metallica or tiesto isn't what i'm talking about i said it's lazy, and lazy people won't make it, but it's their choice, and if they choose lazy then they will be lazy in other areas too, and never make it. i think we are talking about two different things here...
  9. i don't have internet apart from at work atm, so i couldn't check this over night. Gandy, you missed the whole point of my post, which was - it's lazy - i don't care - i'm sick of it being the thing that discussions always turn to - talk about something other than sync vs non sync at the end of the day, when you are talking about a bedroom dj or a venue dj..... no matter what your opinions are of the guy playing, if he is getting the gigs and you're not (which i'm not saying you aren't because i know you play out, it's just an example) then you can't really do much..... Pauly D is a douche and look how many gigs he gets/money he gets.... so really.... why harp on about it in eeevvveeerryyy siiinnnggllleeee threeeaaaddddd?? also, i have played musical instruments, guitar and the banjo p.s. should i buy a mac or pc? nah mean?
  10. From the Merriam-Webster Dictionary Definition of DISC JOCKEY : an announcer of a radio show of popular recorded music; also : one who plays recorded music for dancing at a nightclub or party "one who plays recorded music for dancing at a nightclub or party" Personally, i think it is lazy.... but at the end of the day, people are going to use the technology available to them. No one cranks up there car to start it up anymore.... is a battery lazy? no.... so really, if the definition of a dj is "one who plays recorded music for dancing at a nightclub or party" i don't really give a fuck.... play the music, let me rock out. I'll dj the way i want, and anyone else can dj how they want.... live and let live, discuss more interesting topics than things that have been covered and argued about 10000000 times
  11. ugh so over the autosync debates..... i'm sure back in the day when cdjs came out it was "oh... cdjs are cheating" etc. really don't care + cbf anymore

  13. yup, for producing, monitors are def the way to go. like i said, better sound quality, and also, you don't need it loud for producing and listening back. You can actually hear the different elements of the song better at a normal lower volume than you can when it is louder.
  14. from what i understand, monitors will give you a higher quality sound, but obviously won't go as lound as some big 15''ers or have as much bass. i've done small parties of about 20-25 people, with one of the rooms set up as the party/club room and they go loud enough. haven't even had them up all the way, and you can hear it throughout the house and outside etc.
  15. stop worrying about lights, and worry more about gettin' blowys under the table
  16. what about those behringer monitors jaz has, he always said they are good and not too expensive. i have these and did a review on em as well. http://www.ausdjforums.com/modules.php? ... pic&t=5005 depends if you want them for practicing or playing out. but for small parties, even a good set of monitors can get the party going
  17. i started off with some reloop rmp-1's and a behringer djx-750. i think it was good to start with cd decks and move to midi, but you don't need pioneer, especially if you are planning to move to a midi controller. a lot of people have this "pioneer or nothing" view. However, when you are starting off especially, you don't need to fork out that cash for something you are planning to change/ugrade/might not like in the end. If you are seriously looking at a midi in the future, but want to start on cd decks, go for something like a denon, reloop or cheaper pioneer cdj's like the 200's or something. this way you can get a good idea of what you want/if you like it etc first. remember, just because it isn't pioneer, doesn't mean it's shit. Denon has quality gear, reloop is coming out with some quality affordable gear. You don't need to buy into the pioneer elitism. I understand that pioneer is "industry standard", but moving from a reloop/denon deck and mixer setup to a pioneer set up won't be difficult at all.
  18. just watched number 2, good on ya mate.
  19. just thought i would let any potential girlfirend know what they are in for with him.... larf troll dios
  20. buy my shiz.... it's mad
  21. hey guys, i know not exactly dj gear, but sub and amp nonetheless $200 - PICK UP 12" 1200w earthquake sub 1000w kenwood mono amp All cables used it in my car for a little while, then didn't put it in when i got a new car. works fine and pumps. goes well for rnb and EDM. i'm in Blacktown - Sydney. Only reason i'm selling it so cheap is cos i'm moving and don't wanna take it with me, but at the same time price is pretty firm.
  22. hey mate, welcome what music are you into? what gear are you using at the moment?
  23. hectic
  24. for the win
