you can download demo's as the trial of the software but they are never midi capable so no controllers can connect so your only other option is to download the naughty version if you want to try before you buy.....but yeh thats a touchy subject...
-
ok untill the others jump on this thread ill do my best but they will help more then i can This thread has been covered before but im sure we can do it again now, most will say if you scratch, use serato, if you just general mix with effects n the such, use traktor as for the tempo im guessing the pitch could go as low as the software lets you and not limited by the CDJ's +6 limit etc etc
-
ok cheers man will give it a read
-

Price on the 2x400's and the mixer in the case? remember many people find used DJ gear just by googleing it and getting linked to a thread like this i have at least.....
-
well i know ive got the right music because i basically just get it for these gigs, skills arent up to scratch but im working on that, the music is loud enough, maybe not with 100 people dancing but im no mobile club
-
actually thats another 1 i do but rarely, drop the pitch, but some songs just sound wack anyway thanks guys, just excited to get the Decks and because i cant get them till saturday im kinda post training for them i guess you could say

ok guys that actually help a fair bit cheers but there still the problem with the pop that ever teen drunk at a party wants to here. like i mentioned, lady gaga , jason derulo, usher n the rest that are popular right now if you are force to mix it how do you go about it? i only have 2 techniques under my belt for this style so far, basicly your classic volume and eq fade and bring the next song in, or sometimes i tend to tease a bit by grabbing a popular lyrics or beat section in a loop and bring it in every so often towards the back half of the song so they can kinda guess whats next then just exit the loops and quickly cue it before the other song finishes n thats all ive got so far for pop....

yeh id probly rather spent that 40 on piss rather then cheap plastic
-
yeh its gonna be a challenge for my speakers, but the chick who is holding it was telling me she asked a local DJ vendor and they quoated her $600 for around 6 hours with 2 Speakers and some lighting, which im guessing it two 2way 12's or 15's on stands and some basic lighting, so she was rapped for me to do it for half the price n twice the gear lol im not sure if they were charging extra or something because of the time (11pm to 4or5 am being after graduation) but thats pretty steep LOL or is it not?

oh so think more generally speed in genre's and pitch rather then BPM numbers from what ive learnt so far by ear and numbers and correct me if im wrong house electro trance - usually around 120-130 with 128 being most common drum n bass - bit fast passed around 140ish...(guess) Soulfull house - slower then disco house n trance etc hip hop usually pretty slow around 80-90 pop (like charts shit,Lady gaga n the rest) all over the place really thats what im gonna have most trouble with, because im doing mobile DJing and all the teens want random pop its so hard for me to mix, let alone when im about to be fresh on CDJ's sorry if its sounds like im havin a winge but i am devoted and cant wait to learn, spesh since my Austar gets cut off in a week so ill be off the couch n on the decks for hours or else bored shitless
-
So after starting out on software and always having the BPM displayed in front of me i want to know how you all do it by ear? i mean yeh it will be easy enough to tell 80 BPM from 140, like i would be able to tell the difference but not put a number on it... even though my up n coming CDJ400's will have the BPM displayed id still like the learn the now ancient art please do share
-
Yeh i guessed it was on the smaller side compared to major city's

LOL yeh but i also compared my pair to some of the fakes (photo's) and they are very similar besides 2-3 small points where as those HDJ's are crazy close
-
so after a few recent threads on Headphones i decided to do some research into fakes as a few of us found so many cheap headphones like HDJ1000's for like 40 bucks new this is what ive gathered http://reviews.ebay.ca/Sony-V700-vs-Fak ... 0004764988 http://www.djforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=203974 http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/extra/44-216/ ... nuine.html some good info, from what i can see my V700 are real, but i couldnt give a shit as im gonna get some better muffs sooooooon

mad as remix to a epic song how long did that take you? -
im pretty much still a rookie to DJing, only been doing a bit of bedrooming for 4-5 months and i started out with MP3 Djing n running a midi controller ($500) off my laptop with DJ software as it was way cheaper then buy CDJ's or vinyl and to see if i liked it i did like it so just recently i bought 2 used pioneer CDJ400's and DJM400 mixer for $1700 and its all in a case, they are intermediate CDJ's and the closest your gonna get to pioneers big brother Range (900's,1000's,2000') but yeh i dont know what to recommend as im relatively new to it, but thats just what i got so hopefully that gives u an idea.... but ive also got my laptop, 2 15" speakers, 2 15" dedicated subs, 1 12" speaker, heap of lighting n shit like smoke machine, amp all that shit, other wise i probly would have been able to afford CDJ's a while back
