U know u can DJ properly using Software. I run Traktor Pro on my Hercules n am goin fine without "cheating". Theres nothing that says just cause u run from a computer u have to press "sync" or look at the bpm etc. U can easily do it just like on a cdj. although i do agree with you man an i used to say the same thing, it all came down to (for me) that no club is going to let you Play with a laptop and midi....sorry but someone broke it to me that blunt, and i thank them thats why i switched to CDJ's, because im working towards hopefully getting a club gig, but weather you are or not i dont know, still love my hercules as well

even itunes can do this if you want a very very simple way ok say your file is 20 mins long, right click it in itunes, go to "get info", go to options on the top tab, select start time and finish time and thats 1 way of splitting it up if you want.... other then that i have recently downloaded Audacity (its free) and it can do it by placing new track bars...but itunes way would be the easiest that i can think of others members can probly give better insight

yeh thats the way i am doing, cueing then syncing havent yet learn to sync with the pitch and adjusting the platter to line them up yet....

yeh mainly a rough guide, shit with some songs it will change start at 80BPM then 20 seconds in will change to 128BPM

i went the opposite way to you dude i went from software to CDJ's and have found that the CDJ's actually take skill and software seems to be the lazy mans way out, no offence to anyone using it like you can easily press autosync for the programs that have it, but even the ones that dont i found i never really used me ears i just looked at the music bars but software is cheaper then CDJ's, in my opinion thats the only +

it may depend on how thick your smoke is as well, i make my own and when i make it light it wont set them off but once i make it heavy it does different densities in the air i guess...
