Cupe Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 1. Where did the name come from?Something I used to go by when I would privately make tracks and never release them. It just means horror in french.2. How long have you been playing & how did it all begin; What factors came together for you to take an interest in DJ'ing/Producing?I have been DJing properly for about one and a half years & It all begun when my friend gave me Justice - (Cross) and I just felt inspired with how they incorporated funk, rock and electronic music all together. It inspired me to make my own music as I had previously been in garage bands. From that time I have dabbled in other genres and tried producing everything but I just keep coming back to this sound which I love. It just feels natural and that's what I'm all about.3. What do you spin? How would you describe your sound and what sort of style/DJ's influence you?I spin Electro and Techno, specifically the french sound. My major influences would be Justice, SebastiAn, Brodinski, Kavinsky, Daft Punk, Mr Oizo, Boys Noize, Bloody Beetroots.4. What are your weapons of choice? For djing I suppose just your stock standard CDJ's. My production rig is always changing and adding little bits and pieces but a mainstay is Ableton Live.5. If you could change 1 thing along your way up to where you are now, what would it be and why?I wouldn't change much because my past is what makes me who I am today. In saying that, I would have loved to get into doing music seriously, earlier.6. If you could put yourself as the resident DJ in any scene, where would you choose and why?Paris Social Club, because they have so much class and style.7. What other Australian DJ's/Producers do you rate?My favourites are Tyler Touche, Glass Mirrors, Streetcleaner (Soon to be $ol Dio$?), ZEE and a few more.8. What was the first album you ever bought? The Black Album - Metallica Quote
