MelodyIlliterate Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Had a quick look around beatport but had no luck...need to head to work or else I would have spent the whole night looking into it...but has any one had any experience with this?didn't get round to looking into itunes... but if some one is knowledgeable on that too, would be very thankful...cheers gents Quote
Jaz Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Either have to run a record label or have your track signed to 1 pretty sure man Quote
Mitch Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 As jaz said, you can't just publish onto beatport, you need to either start a label and then get approval from beatport to have your label on their site. Same with itunes i think. The only thing you would be able to do without much is put podcasts on itunes, but there is still a little bit involved in getting that up and running. Don't have time to go into detail with it right now though. Quote
yizzle Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 waiting for street or Tomy's post edit; or mitch's.. Quote
Addi Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 As the others said... your original or remix needs to be signed to a label. Quote
russell Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 If you want to register a label for yourself they will send you an interview type questionnaire. Asking what your label is about, who you will be releasing etc etc.. Quote
Tomy Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Either have to run a record label or have your track signed to 1 pretty sure manpretty much it. i think there was some company a while back that was taking tracks and putting up on itunes for anyone. problem with the is if it ends up on a site like beatport you'll be under their "label / distro" name and i could imagine with a whole heaps of gross stuff. **check the "app" section on soundcloud i think it may be in there somewhere? i dont know of any distro companies that will do one off's as it's not going to make them any money either. street Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Once your label is established, you need labelworx approval also. Quote
