I think pre-mixing is stupid because i believe a dj is someone who mixes songs live and that's what people want to see you doing. Fair enough. The most obvious point that i can think of is that the VCI is a Vestax and in my opinion is a much better build then the numark. Is the Numark a standalone piece of equipment or do you need a soundcard/audio interface?

Hey dude welcome to the forums. For what you are doing i'd keep the gear you have at the moment and save until your current controller breaks or you have saved enough for an S4. As i said before if you are going to stick with a laptop and a midi controller you're best bet would be to save up for a Traktor S4, Denon MC6000(i think it's called) or even a Vestax VCI-100 from DJTechTools. For more info PM me i'd be glad to give you advice

I agree but theres always going to be people who like to use TTs and still think of controller's as flimsy or unreliable or just simply not as good. I personally believe what your saying is correct but oh well.. Back on topic. When i play out they ask me if i want to use there gear or my own depends what you have at your disposal

Hey guys as you may all know i have recently bought a traktor s4 and my new laptop the macbook pro. I was just wondering is there any other pieces of hardware that i can use to enhance my sets. Eg. a traktor x1 with cdjs and traktor to control fx and what not.

I just bought my S4/Macbook Pro setup. I got it off my uncle who is a producer/agent he get's equipment at pretty decent prices it cost me all up 2200.

Guys don't get defensive and think that beatport and ableton are trying to "ruin" the concept of deejaying. I think the purpose of this is so show people how the pro's are using the program and to enhance our understanding on using ableton to do a "live" show. ciao ciao for now
