  4. The anker does seem good. I was unable to find a place to buy them in Australia as of yet. I'll have another comb around tonight, see what pops up.
  5. thanks eggs, that was a good read! +rep
  6. even though scottie's D-Link DUB-H7 only supports USB 2.0, im feeling like it might be an overall better choice $$ wise and power compatibility.. ?
  7. ok, so is the Anker that duz posted going to cause me AC connection problems since its posted from Lakeside, California, United States?
  8. what about duz's link? worth thew few extra dollars over the dlink?
  9. ok, scottie has a cheaper version of what i was looking at, but.. there there much difference between the two?
  10. So i have run out of USB ports on my comp when it comes to all the music things. I only have 4 usb ports and (when necessary) have 6 things i need to plug in atm. (a few additions are coming soon) In the past i have picked up a few cheap USB Hubs for around the $20 mark, but they have always let me down in a few different ways... If not straight away but in the short term as well. Now im thinking something around the $50-80 mark.. dont want to go real high end, but something reliable is what i want. i am currently looking at the ORICO A3H7 eBay link here is $60-ish too much for reliability or too little? any thoughts, questions & suggestions is appreciated in advance
  11. maybe give us a budget you're working with mate? could make the search easier and more importantly, get results for what you are looking for.
  12. maybe the Behringer PL-1 ? it pretty much the same size and about $80 cheaper than the X1. *edit: you can read a bit about it and see some other similar controllers in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=14250

  16. Seeing a producer take a strong performance-based approach to playing live is always refreshing, and KiNK doesn’t disappoint in this wild live routine recorded at Resident Advisor‘s Sessions studio. He manages to work in a whole array of controllers for layering sounds and new beats over top of his own original productions. RA writes in the video’s description: “KiNK’s performances are a middle finger to live dance music’s naysayers. The Bulgarian house artist shows the broad possibilities of the form by playing his assorted setup with the skill of a seasoned musician. Strahil Velchev’s style blends DJ tricks with keyboard and controller manipulation. He also likes to involve the crowd, encouraging dancers in the front row to smash out patterns on his Novation Launchpad [...] he stopped by RA’s London HQ he combined “Source Of Uncertainty,” a new track from his forthcoming debut album, with a stretch of improvisation.” Source: djtechtools.com

  19. There's a new kid on the block, if you think Martin Garrix is a young producer at 17 years old, think again! Aiden Jude, a Big Room/Progressive House producer born and raised in New York, just released his first single on beatport, at the age of 10. The release is called "Tonight" and is a Big Room banger, similar in some ways to Martin Garrix's music, we could say Big Room is now a kids game. Jude is already performing in LA and New York, as well as opening up for Mobb Deep in Hollywood. He may be young but when it comes to music, he might just be older than you in some ways. Aiden Jude's track 'Tonight' is available for download here Source: electrokill.info
  20. the guy with the coke bottle has found a few he likes it seems
  21. Will Farrell has green lighted an EDM comedy called I’m in Love With The DJ. First, let us say this- if it were anyone else but the magic combo of Will Farrell and Gary Sanchez we would easily write this off as “who cares”. But this is the same team that brought us Anchorman & Step Brothers, so we’re going to play along. The news just broke on Deadline a couple of hours ago, and here’s the short of it: “The new deal is for an R-rated comedy is about a girl whose two best friends tag along on her work trip to Spain that quickly turns into a crazy hunt for a hot DJ through the electronic dance music scene.” The film is written by Lauryn Kahn, who’s been working over at the Funny Or Die Studios for the past few years doing shorts for the sketch comedy website. She recently sold the script He’s Fucking Perfect for about $1 million dollars. That film is currently in production (now under the name The Social Life). This isn’t Hollywood’s first jaunt into EDM culture, as Calvin Harris, Jay Z and Will Smith have teamed up with HBO for an Entourage-like show for the cable network. And if you want to go back to the glory days of house music in nightclubs, you can’t forget Night at the Roxbury. No word yet on a release date for I’m in Love With The DJ. Source: magneticmag.com
