  1. I've used acid at school a couple of times, didn't like it that much (this was years and years ago though). It could have changed a fair bit by now. I'm behind on win software as I don't use win much anymore, but I've heard of mixcraft and reaper.. If you have access to a win computer dl these and try them out? Can't remember which one it was (mixcraft or reaper) but one of them had a similar layout to GarageBand
  2. Lawl At direction this thread has taken. Spread the adjf <3

Something a bit different, its just so catchy and the vid clip is cool
  4. I admit they look better in black but I'm not wasting my money on skins for them, screw that. That money could be Spent on beer or other equip lol
  5. Your not the only one... http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1266029 Some people saying installing the update while its plugged into charger fixes, but not for others
  6. It's quite strange that the same update has claimed to be installed 3 times Normally firmware installs and then you can't revert back, that's it. So it's quite strange to have it show and install again and again. Not sure what would be done as far as rectifying, try search apple forums to try find a similar case to yours. Or lodge a support claim to apple and they may ask to send some logs to them and you may get some help that way.
  7. -Djtutor.com -Search ellaskins on YouTube, he has some good tutorials. -Learn to dj thread pt. 1 vids Apart from that just keep practicing. I spent ages every day practicing until I got beatmatching down.
  8. If there isn't a direct button for it, Just put a hot cue at the start of each track? Could just do it on the fly as needed

    TOTD?

  10. Dunno how white will go with fingerprints and stuff. They would look cool new though. I'm happy with my silver 850s for the time being
  11. Open System Preferences Go to Software Update Click on the 'installed software' tab There is a list of all installed software updates. Sort it by date with most recent at the top (which i'm pretty sure should be the default view) and the firmware version would be the most recently one installed.
  12. Just got a promo email from pioneer, they also bringing out the 350s in metallic silver
  13. Got it confused with prostitution rates
  14. Black CDJs look so much better than Silver CDJs. But meh, i'm happy with them as they are lol

What eggs said ^^ If you wanna learn the proper way, put the laptop to the side, load your tracks, then even put a cloth, tshirt or something over the screen so you can't see the waveforms or BPM readers, then its exactly like normal tt's
  18. I had a massive thing written up then i closed the whale of a tab. Here is what i roughly follow when i'm building a comp. HDD - Western Digital, never had a problem with, so stick with em. Green series is the quietest, Blue is a compromise between sound and performance, black is the highest performance but the loudest. Ususally just get green, coz people like a quiet computer. For a higher end computer, can put a smaller SSD to install the OS on, then store docs, music, vids etc. on another internal HDD. MB - Asus or Gigabyte, doesn't matter too much these days, probably all made at the same place. Just look at the prices on the day, see what has best bang for buck and features you want in the price range your looking at. RAM - Kingston or Corsair, doesn't matter. Just get whats cheaper in the speed and type you want. Usually pay the extra couple of bucks to get one with a name, they have lifetime warranty most of the time now CPU - AMD tend to have better value at the budget end, can't go past intel i series for the mid to high end stuff Graphics - ATI or Nvidia, doesn't matter too much. I've fallen behind with graphics cards, but if i was getting one i'd pick a few in the price range i'm looking at and compare them on a benchmarking site and see what comes out on top, there is a few around. gigabyte and asus rebrand alot of the cards now also, along with tweaking them a bit sometimes, both do the job good from what i've heard. Case + PSU - Usually buy them combined, its easier and works out cheaper alot of the time. Thermaltake and Coolermaster for a decent quality case, generic one for budget PC. Think Antec make some decent stuff too, but never used them yet. Optical Drive - LG or Samsung tend to have the drives that burn the most (if not all) the different DVD and CD types, and decent quality so the lasers last for a fair bit. Just get whatever drive comes bundled with Nero so it comes with some half decent software.
  19. You won't find out how to get free versions on here. Assuming your running windows, main options are: FL Studio Ableton Cuebass For Mac: Logic Ableton Pretty sure most people here use those (off the top of my head)
  20. Cheapest is eBay from the us, but you run a bit of a risk doing that, and may not get warranty honored in aus If something happens. If you want to buy from an online shop check djwarehouse and storedj. They are likely the same price on both though
  21. I buy all my computer stuff off centrecom and mwave. They have a bunch of stores all around aus and ship also. What's your budget? I could try find your best options for that price
  22. Firmware updates are dependent on the model of MacBook you have. As your running a new model, you will have different firmware updates compared to other models. As for How to check what firmware updates your on, I'll do that when I get home (on iPhone)
