I would like to call on the TT owning members to share with us your thoughts, stories, photos and info, basically anything to do with the most beautiful TT ever made I grew up in a very musical family, but unfortunately it was the early eighties and my parents did not see the link between disc jockeys and turntablism. My father hand built me a scaled down fully functional stratocaster at the age of 6, I had drum kits, violins any instrument i could desire, but not the one thing i wanted most, Technics SL1200's and a mixer! Not to rag on my parents that much, we weren't well off by any means (being muso's) and i guess they couldn't justify the money for what they believed to be a fad. So in 1995 when my friend got his first set, i was like a fly on shit! My passion for these TT's has never dwindled, but when I could finally afford a set of my own, there was no stock available in Perth at the time (coz perth is wack!) I reluctantly bought some Vestax PDX2000's and to be fair they have served me very well, now my dilema is that of course they are no longer being produced! and as my vestax are fine its hard to justify to my missus why i will have to take a big loss to sell them and track down a set of 1210 mk5's so thats my love affair with the mighty 1200 series TT, I hope i'm not the only one with this wierd fetish for an electrical item. now some porn And finally, me using the mk5's i was babysitting for a friend while she was overseas, I was roughly 22 and still had hair! lol

cant believe i missed this thread lol! I am exactly the same right hand is dominant on the fader and i usually use the left deck for scratching, but i have much better record control with my right hand aswell, am currently forcing myself to fade with the left, i figure its like footy, you have your dominant foot but can still kick with the other. As for battle formation 1. It makes juggling sooooo much easier! back when hip hop started, all they had was the breaks, juggling was essential to keep the break going. 2. It looks f@%$ing dope! 3. Tone arm is out of the way (especially with straight ones) 4. refer to number 2!

Would I be laughed off the forum if i was to start a "technics 1200 porn thread" After over's thread today, i went googling the mighty 1210 and had to rub one out! There are so many artistic/designer type shots of this glorious instrument, i would like to share some with you all eg thoughts peeps?

I can vouch for vestax pdx2000's! i've had mine since 01 and still going strong, ok aesthetically there not that pleasing to the eye but damn strong. It takes me a while to get used to 1210's when i get to use them, as they are much weaker imho. But i still sport wood for the 1210! happy to swap with anyone who's keen!
-
Again i will highly recommend the Yamaha hs80m's, i was looking at cheaper units, but in the end i waited a bit longer, kosmic here in perth did em for 699 the pair. So happy i didnt compromise.
-
Wow! Um please tell me the 1's and 2's are just out of shot! Lol
-
nice chair! i am mad envious of your large space to work with.
-
Yummy! what decks are they? look like stantons i think?

and spend alittle time testing various combinations of volumes on your mixtrack adn the amp so you get the loudest possible without distortion. Then turn down a bit so you have room to turn up later on when the volume is really needed. top tip Over's, I learned this the hard way at a mates wedding, all was good till everybody had heaps of liquid loud, then the house amp at the function centre had no more to give LOL!

I'm more into writing my own that way I can do what I want creativeness wise, also more flexibility I think he means actual samples of each drum ie snare, kick etc this is what i do too Have never tried a drum vst, although my NI Maschine does come with quite a few

Save Your Hearing While DJing in 3 Easy Steps

Ha when i was a regular drummer, i'd always practise with earplugs, have you ever taken them out in the club? I remember taking them out during practise and my mate gave my snare a whack......fuck it hurt so bad! -
emailed you those drums and then remembered this site http://www.musicradar.com/news/tech/free-music-samples-download-loops-hits-and-multis-217833/65 Heaps of free shit, drums, loops, etc
-
my bad! thought 5 was being used in the first pic, I stand corrected
-
I'd say audio out 1 and 2 are assignable to the hdmi or component, you are left with audio 5 (which is being used already) but most home amps will have another rca (red blk and yellow) input on the front for gaming consoles, you could use that no probs.
-
Personally i like to layer the shit out of my drums, up to 5-6 kicks on each pad, same with snares. I usually troll old break records or listen for some phat drums that are solo in a track then just steal em! lol I a can email you a nice set of drums a mate of mine put together tho, pm me an adress
