is it not more the connection inside the mixer that is the problem rather than the actual headphone jack? Played on a few mixers where this has been slightly loose. Never had a problem with my own mixer right enough.

It's def the most popular. Very similar to Flat 55. Flat 55 is a lesser known tune which is probably why I prefer it.

This is probably my favourite oizo tune...

Saw him DJ.. prob about 5 years ago.... awful DJ. Although I'm sure he's said himself he's a crap DJ.
-
I'd rather hear the odd small fuck up and know the DJ isn't just using the 'sync' button.
-
I'd also recommend sending any label a .wav rather than .mp3 file. Any decent label would want a .wav

Couldn't decide which genre would fit best so i'll stick it here if anyone is interested.. http://www.oizo3000.com/

by mixes you mean tracks right? Most labels accept files through their soundcloud dropbox. there are some that do not like this though and would prefer a CD posted to them or whatever. Look at a labels website and see what format they like to receive promo's. What kind of stuff do you produce?
-
Only upload a clip of your track or upload a low quality version (be sure to mention this in the track notes so people know it's not just a low quality production). Are you looking to release your music yourself or looking to have tracks signed to a label?

This is a must for anyone in or around Melbourne. Shit I would travel there to see this guy if I could. I just missed him in Glasgow before I came back to Oz. http://www.residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?357634

If this was a week later i'd have hit that shit up..... Friday 27 April 2012 Ambar Doors open 10pm The Likes of You very proudly brings you one of the kings of Detroit techno and the Belleville Three’s ‘Elevator’, Derrick May. Derrick May May's narrative is wedged into electronic music folklore. The story goes that in the mid '80s, May - also known as Rhythim is Rhythim, joined forces with Kevin Saunderson and Juan Atkins (who became known as the Belleville Three) to fashion a completely new genre of music that, today, we all take for granted. May is credited with shaping and steering house music's future. The Belleville Three tested the limits of electronic music and changed it forever. Call May a visionary - the music now commonly known as 'techno', is May's invention. It all started in 1987 when May released Nude Photo, which helped propel the Detroit techno music scene and gradually infiltrate the European acid house mantra. In 1988, house music nirvana arrived when the Detroit native produced the ultimate record, Strings of Life - so named by house prodigy Frankie Knuckles. May's ability to connect what is in his head with the feelings of what is on the dance floor is known the world over - his dedication to perfection is celebrated. His production and solo recording exploits may have halted over the past decade but his legacy has rolled on throughout the years, thanks to numerous remixes, re-works and collaborations with some of the most experimental musicians going, including Depeche Mode and ABC. What makes a Derrick May DJ set so uniquely exceptional is his ability to intermingle genres, taking records of years past and making them work in today's crowded musical sphere. Take Icon, a May masterpiece, where the strings sound just as powerful and prevalent today as they did years ago. The 'classic' Derrick May noise is a finite balance between percussion-laded cascades of sound complemented with samples and melody. If you want to know what makes Derrick May special, listen to any of his mixes to discover how he inspires people to love techno for what it is - not the sub-culture, the drugs or the mystique, it's all about the music. May has performed around the globe for over two decades and honed his Transmat techno label into one of the most respected outputs in the world. A pioneer of techno, May produces Hi-Tek Soul or "George Clinton meeting Kraftwerk in an elevator." May makes techno poetry - hear him live and expect a night of unrefined emotion delivered with passion. Tickets: $25 from Moshtix (limited $20 early-birds available)

you can have traktor set up an djust run everything through it though even if they are playing B2B and one is using cd's/usb and the other traktor.... Correct me if I'm wrong. i only use traktor with timecode vinyl and you can just switch between that and normal vinyl no hassles. just flick the intput mode on the mixer channel. Surely the same with CD's?
-
Sounds about right but if it boils down to that date then that must be the day he was dreaming about.
-
I'd like/hope to think that goes without saying............. EDIT; also I don't see why there would be any issues from swapping over to a different system during the night?? Even if you were going from a non-traktor setup to a traktor setup all you gotta do is unplug and plug a couple of cables. Not exactly a hassle.
-
Thats some effort they went to to establish what day was a good day....

VST = Virtual Studio Technology Things like synthesisers, drum machines, filters units, delay units, reverb units, effects units... etc etc for using with your choice of software when making music.
-
Except for getting used to the cue button lag cue button lag? first i've heard of it.
-
If your just using traktor with timecode CD's there's nothing to get used to in traktor really. Drag tune from playlist (usb drive) to the free deck in traktor. Play tune as you would normally on CDJ. repeat for duration of set.....

man I fuckin love bein on this guys promo list.....
