  1. that shouldnt even happen. Why's that? If you have an international or something you wouldnt announce them starting? No. Perhaps it's different here but I wouldn't do it... that just doesn't happen in Europe. Continuous flow of music is the name of the game. This. Even in Melb they don't do mic work when big acts start / finish (depending on where you go). Guess it just depends on the kind of places you go Probably right actually, the only time i can recall it is festivals. So essentially mcs stay out of dance music!

  3. I like a really punchy kick so mine are usually two or three sounds. A basic kick, a snare and a ride or something.
  4. Yep agreed. Introduce a big dj or whatever but thats it. People go to clubs to hear music not egotistical gronks ruining music lol.
  5. MC's in dance music, no, just no.
  6. Going to be honest and say i hate the font lol, but it does look sick now.
  7. I dont think many will be that receptive of actual dj sets man, more so bootlegs, edits and originals etc. Soundcloud groups is a good one to get some more views/
  8. Fuck will.i.am, arrogant and talentless fuck.
  9. Uni nights are honestly my favourite gigs. Uni students are nuts. We play every wednesday uni night at our pub/club, the uni students party at the uni then get dropped off in bus loads into town. We play anything we want and they froth hard, pretty much nothing commercial. That's sick need to hook up some uni gigs by the sound of things.
  10. Pretty surprised a uni party was digging good tunes as well.
  11. Diplo is such a wank lol
  12. Love wayfarer shit was lost when and above and beyond played it.
  13. I feel so inferior with one screen
  14. Rekordbox makes heaps of difference over non analysed files. As i have previously dicussed with mitch, the reading you get on a 2000 is the same one from rekordbox analysis, ie it doesnt read it on the fly like 1000s do. I would actually say 2000s and all new players are slower at reading cds.
  15. If the tracks are put through Rekordbox they will be more accurate than cd's on CDJ1000s. What i noticed is that Rekordbox isn't as good as i thought. If you want to be spot on use BPM analyzer and write the bpm's down.
  16. Still looking to find test results but would be pretty safe to assume sticking with MIK is the best way atm.
  17. Is that not a job for your ears? Of course you will always need some adjustments by ear, but when you need to mix in and out of tracks quickly to keep modern clubbers interested you have to take the basis of the read out and make adjustments.
  18. Don't always trust their bpm and key as gospel though Mattus and myself were discussing the accuracy of Beatport's key info the other day. He actually emailed them to find out, i have a feeling it isn't that good though as i remember a fair bit of discrepancy between MIK and BP. Not all programs are equal, for example Rekordbox's BPM analysis isn't as good as i thought/hoped it was. After trying to figure out why my mixing was tighter on CDs and opposed to USB, i used to get my bpm through BPM analyzer which does a better job than Rekordbox.
  19. Fanx m8!
  20. That said if you want to use cds or timecode i would choose them over any of the newer units.
