  1. Chemical energy do it
  2. lol mine dont have sync
  3. No headphone mixes woo
  4. Was considering this the other day myself. Might actually add up all dem things.
  5. Was a welcome surprise. The guy running it awesome and good to see he is running it properly and not just how many people you can bring etc.
  6. Lol who was that poor form
  7. But he's saying things that have been said a million times before. Everybody knows how commercial edm and the bigger artists have become, i still feel these type of articles are hey look at me im dissing the big boys.
  8. I don't think that is really a genuine concern, same as big festivals/clubs, the lasers don't stay in the one position long enough to cause bad damage from memory. I would be more worried about the laser getting damaged by the crowd lol, gotta be really gentle with them.
  9. Dj Sneak syndrome anyone? Clawing back into relevancy through bitching.
  10. Nope this comp is very much play to your slot. From experience at Candys and What Club i would be playing bouncy/commercial/hip hop flavoured stuff. You really, really need to bring a solid crew down for this first slot as not many other people will be there. In that sense you are let off the hook somewhat musically in a dj comp, don't play too heavy, but make sure you play what your mates like. https://soundcloud.com/djkalus/sam-and-the-womp-bom-bom-kalus etc etc )))
  11. lol they have two models newer than the ones he is selling. CDJ800 MK2 which are pretty similar bar a few extra features. CDJ850 as mitch said is primarily the same bar USB support and a few other things. I think you really need to figure out what you want in the players, because last time you were talking about traktor/serato and timecode, and now you want USB support. My personal opinion would be to go USB players and that way minimise the stuffing around with extra components and of course a laptop. The benefits of DVS systems don't really outweigh the cons when you compare them to the new pioneers and USB now.
  12. Haha what night are you on might come out, mattus, lgeunner and myself all dj for music people. Yeah if you play bangers you won't get through in this comp. It has been quiet in the early sets as well so make sure you bring your own friends. I prefer the comp on fridays too actually.
  13. I think you would still get cheaper in a pack though, is Sol still selling his decks?
  14. Hence why i said 800s in my post lol
  15. I wouldnt be playing overly heavy bangers though, some comps will still want you to play to your slot. Can i ask which comp it is?
  16. Those are shithouse lol, played on them at lightsounds. The only bonus of those type models is that like the one pictured you will get more features like a nice screen and usb support. If you have your heart on traktor scratch or serato, 100% go some cdj800s or even cdj1000s can be had for reasonable prices. You can pick up a pair of decent 800's for like $600 if youre lucky.
  17. The masters at building up hype, which i have real worries may actually shoot themselves in the foot if the album doesn't musically deliver. Always going to be hard whether people froth over the album because it's Daft Punk or because the tracks are actually good. I'm not a fan of get lucky at all tbh, by no means a terrible track but really feels have done to me, was hoping for a bit more from DP.
  18. Thought this was an original track the way you had it named.
  19. Will completely depend on the club, i'm going to assume it's a top 40 remixes house and electro club. Some older more commercial stuff like Calvin harris' feel so close will go down well alongside really cheesy new stuff to get the girls on the floor. I also find hip hop flavored booltegs and remixes work a treat. Being a comp i doubt they will look at the music programming as much as technical ability and of course how many people you bring. If you want to do well bring a massive crowd then you can play more what you want so long as you aren't dropping filth.
  20. Yeah don't use virtual dj man, there are plenty of better alternatives for any platform.
  21. A few on here use Dennon's and Reloops. This subject will create alot of subjectivity, but i would still go older second hand pioneer models than any other brand personally. Bear in mind any cdj can be connected via timecode, the likes of some pioneer cdj 800 mk2s with serato would still be sick.
  22. Not the best idea if you want your speakers to survive.
  23. Mackie > Daylight > Behringer. Mackie are great speakers dude.
  24. Jb hifi is also an exclusive seller of Audioline which gives them control over pricing compared to if it were a more common brand. There are a few on here with experience with these brands i'm sure, i know Sol Dios has found the behringers decent. Might be a good idea to double think whether you feel the investment on speakers is necessary. I still hire and really think it's the better option unless you are making full time money out of mobile gigs.
