Yeah that all makes sense +rep But I need suggestions on what soundcard to bridge it all I should get. -
So need to run audio from PC which just has a 3.5"audio out to the 2 monitors with the large standard plugs. I basically need a converter kind of thing without a huge amount of fuck around. Any ideas what small, cheap units do this so I don't have to use a full mixer?
-
Yeah wavelab. It's Cubase LE and I assume LE means fuck you
-
I'll have to check it out on the weekend. The audio recorder I bought comes with Cubase and some other thing. wave something. Will be scoping it all on the weekend
-
Does it hook into abelton or what?
-
I've achaly been chatting about Ableton today, and because I want to do some of this stuff live it's probably the better option. @LabRat I'll get an Absynth demo on the weekend and have a muck around. A lot of what I'll be working with will be live recordings and instruments manipulated later on then arranged
-
I've tinkered in Ableton but that shit is better for live stuff right? tbh I wouldn't mind trying to learn how to make this audio soundscape live too. Why is there such a vibe off Pro Tools? Every top tier cunt that works on sound engineering is on it. I'll be using a massive amount of different tools to fuck with the sound before I arrange it
-
tbh I do it all manually in audacity a lot. Normally I do original production in Reason but I'm gonna start to record real world sounds and instruments and shit now
-
Mainly arrange as I'll have a whole shitload of samples and will adjust them outside with other tools (cause I don't know what I'd be doing to manipulate in Pro Tools). I just want to be able to line up a shitload of tracks and have them come in and out when they should. Really just build the songs from all the parts in something.
-
Anyone used this much? I'm thinking it might be the best way to arrange the compositions I'm going to start working on. http://www.avid.com/pro-tools/features If anyone has input pls input it.

Guide to building a shelf for a production desk to raise screens or make more space to slide equipment under. Shelf 110cm wide: http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/70282181/ $24.99 190cm wide: http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/30282183/ $49.99 Legs: 16cm high: http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/50273031/ $25 (pack of 4) 8cm high: http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/30273032/ $20 (pack of 4) Basically measure it out and just drill the legs into the base wherever you need to, suit to fit. BEFORE (shit shelf) AFTER (IKEA hack shelf, 16cm legs, 190cm wide shelf) - Total cost: $99.99 (doubled up on legs):

I don't game competitively any more anyway, and usually play shit on the PS4. Or else all I play is AOE2 and that's mostly mouse and hotkeys. Anyway the DAS is forever boss, the cordless is just for tidyness sake. Are you saying have 3 levels? keyboard mouse underneath midi keyboard underneath screens? That shit will be way too fucking high to look at. Essentially i could do that with a slide out pc keyboard tray but then it's too low and I like leaning on the massive desk space. The turntables could fit on either side of this but i don't reckon it's necessary any more. I'll never use the turntables and production shit at the same time. Now I can just make a tight little DJ setup and make this full production setup.

Hi mate, this section is just for an intro. Post your music in The Music section if you want people to give feedback and shit like that. In here you won't get anything but a welcome and hello. ps. Welcome and hello
-
That's actually a pretty good fucking setup idea. I think the only problem might be the height of the long desk. With a keyboard draw under it there's not much room to fit the chair in underneath Will def be getting cordless keyboard today though, even though I love my DAS and boss af mouse
