  2. i think jonny said he uses headphones? i dont know about production, but i remember an audiophile once telling me to ensure there is some bleed from them. this will annoy people in the same room as you, but this allows for it to sound as though the sound isnt right up next to your ear, amongst other things. there is a really good website that audiophiles go to for their headphones ill try to find it and re-up
  3. pssst hoddi you forgot the other colon at the end :
  4. yellow
  5. all the peeps hacking on sol for doin a five min mixxx beats half the other sods who arent posting up any mixes. nah mean. when ya first learnig to mix getting down two transitions in a row is the shit. and yes i too am a sod my last mixx was in nov when i did 2 in one month. (but i aint a sod calling a kettle a sod)

    Heyyo

    new record
  8. from wiki note though (and i coulda mixed up numbers but im pretty sure tubby told me once) the MK6 having only been released in japan, does not have the adjustable voltage switch like the other models. meaning you will need not just a convertor but also a transformer. of course thats not really a bigg deal.
  9. hmmm weekend only i think. it wasnt all that anyways. well not my style. go to the splash page and see if its advertised somewhere in the top banner
  10. another setup option is use your tt's with an mpc (someone is selling a 2000XL i thinks in the buy gear. though chev said he will kill you anyone who makes an offer to buy it). especially for sample based producing. then get a daw if you really want one.
  11. gimmick? youve never seen drummers play with dj's? it goes off. not just travis and AM but ive seen a set with live latino drummers playing off the dj.
  12. ^^this. that is assuming you have a stereo/ guitar amp/ reasonably loud computer speaker/ a loud tv in the house that you can use. because to begin with i.e. to learn with you just need sound. then if and when you start playing for mates they will likely have something (a stereo, a guitar amp and so on). and then when ya gets paid you hire for a bit tillyou can buy. also the cdj versus controller thang. if you going mobile dj (i.e. bdays, weddings, bar mitzvahs and the like) a controller works just as well and like you said will be much more portable. if you want to get into the club scene. go turnies or cdjs. if you just want to dj because you like music and want to have a music related hobby then pick whatever you want. as long as you rockin it and enjoying it, who cares. IMO anyways. oh and incorporate your violin into your sets thatll be different!

    Heyyo

this you jumped in before me. i know shoulda quoted
  14. eggssell

    Heyyo

its all different. theres those two japanese kids who got in at five, then there are the over 30's. also depends on areas. where i grew up house parties were massive so becoming a dj was on a radar from about 13 onwards.
  15. but for real. dj is a title of someone who plays pre made music be it your own or others. whether its in yer name or not is irrelevant.
  16. bwahahaha yeh keh sahn is one of my all time hug some random and sing along. but if genres open go for refurgitator circa unit. this album had some nice elctronic pop tracks. and then go circa edurardo... album which goes more into breaks then of course silverchair post frogstomp. while i personally love frogstomp (israels son is the ish) i think people swallowed freakshow, diorama and the latest one much easier. all are quite good. i love daniel johns as much as any hetro should love another mann getting more into the danceosphere. of course empire ofthe sun gets a mention. there first album was gold. then stepping away from major labels (i thinks cuz my exposure is minimum) go for cassian nick thayer slop rock knocked up noise cairo nightblind they all got soundclouds as well as releases so hit it
  17. sweet. yeah man if you stick w native tongues, us old schoolers will be happy. a lot of our stuff just gets slept on. but yeah ylu goin well. i still dont personally own any oz on wax. hoping my cairo (chev) will be the 1st of many
  18. that sucks balls huh. thats why i hate vinyl as much as i love it. had an awesome house party tonight where i jumped from. vinyl to tsp as the requests changed. and yeah even if i bought vinyl exclusive i know i wouldve hit a wall as peeps wouls ask fer other stuff. so i switched to tsp and it all worked out. but yeah rocked native tongues for a good hour or two.

    Heyyo

    yo waddup
  20. what have you been paying for yer 12's mate. and where at? i still got jazzy jeff and fresh prince parents just dont understand. got it for my bday back in the late 80's sometime. would love to cop that first lp, hes the dj im the mc or something like that
  21. can you change the response of cdj platters? i see some scratchers (not battlers) using just the black part of the vinyl just after the label because it has no grooves and is nice and sticky (i use that part for spinning back to cue). and that area is smaller than cdj platters! pretty much using index and middle finger only. but yeah maybe its a different response time. or maybe i have no idea how cdjs work he he
  22. andyman to make yer name more euro change it to andy van smith just rolls off the tongue mate
  23. eggssell

    Oh hi

waddup now at uni so have free time bwahahHa. cool. what genres mayne and from where abouts you hail
  24. what genre djim? and also keep in mind just cuz theyre aussie they may not listen to aussie stuff; especially if they longtime expats and into edm they may not know whats down in this scene. anyways let us know genre and i can come up w a few. i love my aussie artists from all across the board (incl lisa mitchell ftw. yeah thats right do something )
