  1. hey man welcome
  2. never seen him djing. about ten or fifteen years ago he was part of a hip hop group methods of mayhem which was actually aiight. i got the cd somewhere
  3. isnt the last half hour for slow songs so people can get close to the targets they been working. "sexual healing baby....."
  4. then yes it will be onboard if you just plugging it into a laptop. oh and use the line-in not mic in if you insist on using an onboard sound card. someone said that on the other thread.
  5. no i think he means a better soundcard. most onboard sound cards (which are the ones the line input connect to ) suck balls.
  6. thats what happened to me bro. six months i watched and bidded on heaps!!! at the time stantons were retailing for $8 or 9 hundred, so when dj warehouse had them on sale for $650 each i was like fugg it and grabbed a pair. then after the sale the retail price changed to $695 but oh well i was glad to finally get down to it.
  7. oh shit huh, i mustnt of went back after it ended. yeah that must of been a bummer for ya. but that sounds like heaps unless they were immaculate.
  8. the mad technics price increase must be pushing ppl out of the techies market down to stantons cuz yest a pair of 2nd hand st150s went for 910!!
  9. just checked it djm 400 doesnt have a booth out. therefore yeah you will need to require on master out to control clipping out. id say make sure gains are right on each cue amd then check again on master and like abive just ensure you dont red line it
  10. hey man im quite a noob too in all things sound but while you wait for some of the pros to get at ya. what usb sound card you using? i remember reading this is def preferred over using mic jack. Also does your mixer have a record or booth out. use this as opposed to master out. that way it records irrespective of what the master volume is set out. oh yeah And when you say your recording is crap maybe clarify. i.e you getting clipping, pops and clicking, distortion, volume too low, eqs all messed etc etc
  11. hey its not friday
  12. yo man welcome
  13. oh yeah the mix edition i meant
  14. if you aint scratching go the suzukis. smooth as you can let the platter run forever. and in fact they not too bad for the occassional wigga
  15. depends on yer sound card though right as to quality. when yer Traktor scratch you can use that as a sound card to record w audacity
  16. collabo mate. happens in fashion all the time some good some bad. you gotta remember some djs are fashionable and some only have fashion to go by
  17. some knocked up noise remix. rockin!!! was dancing round in the office and thought what is that track. had to start it again
  18. i only genre crate my music right now. before i dj'd and use to browse RCRD LBL and blogs i did it by dates. as i said trainspotter is prob what ill get next then i plan on crating by genre, bpms, and my own class (starters; builders; bangers; chillers; steady)
  19. EDIT: sorry dont know how old you are (post in the age thread), if you a youngin' dont read on... 'nuff said. ha ha. yeah you always need to be protected on the first meeting then only after blood tests can you proceed to go raw...
  20. thats what i mean. for us it use to be the holder of the party would ring up a hire place, get 2 turnies and some lights then anyone brave enuff (usually me and one of my holmies) would show up with a crate or 4 of vinyl and just play whatever. people would usually take turns doing about an hour behind the decks, or occassionally youd get someone get all dedicated and stay behind for a longer time. but once we left school all these kids started buying cd player/ mixer thangs and the whole renting of turnies and community djing went out the window, cuz these peeps obviously wanted to be the only ones to mix all night. on the other hand though, i see how weddings and corporates need the mobile dj.
  21. at a house party (which we use to hold all the time, and i notice kids dont do that anymore...) we played the same technotronic about 10 times. got the floor going each and every time ha ha. i cant even remember which track
  22. adidas branded one in the sale list at store dj but you pay extra $50 or something for the blue
  23. yolanda adams - I believe no hating now.. it has an awesome break which you can play doubles of and extend for people to dance or rap over! old school style. i actually did this to practice extending a break without using loops.
  24. hey jonny did you hit shuffle again or just note the next track (i was gonna go for seconds too but didnt know the protocol... ill hit shuffle again) fukkk off - love my shake -frederic de carvalho remix nice little dirty electro, with lasers and other video games sounds, plus syncopatic vocal cuts
  25. Tzu - Crazy Thinker a mellow chilled track, with lots of reverb in the beats and echos in the voice. nice little hook sounds like sting, with only a small spoken rap
