  1. yeah not a fan. think last mos cd i rcoked was kenobis sessions and the last one before that was roger sanchez ten years ago. anywho was just thinking cuz i know there was a thread before. these are mixed so even as a mobile dj what do you do play a few bars in or something?
  2. macbook pros would run dvs no probs. i just didnt agree with the statement they arent overpriced when they cost heaps! again i think theyre cool and if cash wasnt an issue then even id have macbook air just on a sling to carry w me all day!!
  3. isnt there a way in audacity. i think merge the stereo sound to mono. then make a copy as another track. reverse one of them. and then merge both tacks as one. its usually hit and miss. more hit than miss but better than just using mids in eq google it. i did it for a few rap tracks and it was okay. a little echo-y and for some reason worked better on verses than choruses. i think it has something to do with multiple voices in choruses.
  4. macbook prices are way overpriced for the specs you get. dont get me wrong if stability is a high priority and price is a lesser priority then yes macbook pros are a nice little machine. but the truth is they benchmark a lot lower for machines of the same price. so im not saying compare spec to spwc you cant. im saying benchmarks like running a formula, playing or rendering a video. i remember comparing the scores of the latest macbook pros at the time when my laptop was 2.5 yrs old and it had only just caught up for video rendering. so i have to disagree. macbooks are on the higher end of the scale if you talking price
  5. who said hip hop is dead. ha ha. they so so gangsta
  6. hey jonny thanks for the advice man. yeah as i said aboce i really need to work on my out transitions. any hints or suggestions on what i couldve done appreciated. or am i overthi king. should i just let it play 8, 16 or 32 beats than fade it out.
  7. did you mean 9 50? the bitch you look fierce vocal worked well over the previous track but yeah outgoing track always feels like i just dump out of it. (if you meant 8 50 that wasnt me that was the remix) anywho thanks for the review man glad you liked the tracks and the mix. it ai t perfect but im glad im gettig better. been a year now since i grabbed the decks. had a bigg dead spot in the middle of this year where i didnt get on. but trying to hit it at least once a week.
  8. listened to it in my car which was the first time hearing with proper speakers (my subie has a subbie). heaps better than iphone speakers.
  9. its all about beatgridding (ha ha not that i know entirely what the means). anywho i think you can set a load marker which is the white stripe on the first beat. essentially what cdj users do when setting a cue point. then there is a setting to say load track at load marker. ive never used markers so only going from what ive read.im not at my pc but if you dont figure it ill give it a go and maybe explain better.
  10. hey man thats nice. got that booty tech style of deekline. middle section bit same same, needs 16 bars from sporty-o, loc-e, whiskey pete or amanda blank. that eerie aah added to the outro is nice. but yeah other than maybe use of samples of vocal cuts or a full verse, i think you got the sound and feel right
  11. thanks gandy. i got the track for sporty-o but i know felguk has been thrown around a couple of times in here so ill have to check him/ them/ her out
  12. ha ha yeah thats a classic. never did get around to watching season 2 might havw to track it down
  13. looks like dude sold em outside of ebay cuz auction is ended..
  14. just bought it. nice man.
  15. thanks man.you the resident review king these days. +rep in regards to gain yeah first track was soft and some transitions sound loud. but yeah appreciate the listen man!!
  16. hi just a quick on the fly. like before hopped on and messed about. then went to history and played all songs in same order. funny, when i was messing about i went for about 30 mins but the mix is only 12, guess needed time to warm up. anywho i quite like this mix. best one ive recorded so far. as per my introduction post about a year ago i really wanted to mix bmore and miami bass and this is closest i have gotten. more upbeat. ill let others comment before i break it down, though while mixing and after listening i think i have issues trying to end the outgoing track. oh and gains suck again. anywho here is the listing, if you cant stand listening to the whole thang just jump to 5 secs before transition. any advice would be much appreciated... 0.00 Deekline ft Top Cat - Party Party (Rico Tubbs) 1.29 Felguk ft Sporty-O - 2nite 3.20 Nick Thayer - Dirty Lickin - Trevor Loveys & Nick Thayer Remix 5.20 Savage Skulls ft Timbuktu - Bumps 7.32 Blatta & Inseha - Bite Your Lip - NT89 remix 9.22 Jade Elektra - Bitch You Look Fierce - Scott Harris Remix https://soundcloud.com/eggssell/party
  17. thats a lot of pawn
  18. overall i like it. the drums dont stand out as much...either way percussion still sounds good. and the growl i dont think youve done anything to them but it doesnt seem so out of the place. maybe its stuff youve taken away?? i dont kno either way digging the growl now. especially when they kick in that last phrase. nice change up at 2.30. very good heavy shit man. now hand that shit over
  19. im assuming its just beginnings right, percussion seems soft is all. like the intro sound. and that first build to the first drop is best bit. like your wobble and the video game keyboard in the first phrase after the first drop. sounds good so far, sequence that shit up and i think itll sound good.
  20. first up not much of a dubstep person but have heard a lot i do like zombeez - eerie beginning, must admit i got a bit bored during the vocal, bit long when added to the intro. love when it gets heavier. nice wobbles and use of vocal drops (like the scream). liked the first phrase but cant say i liked it enuff to enjoy the track right thru. but sounds like its well done. batman - love the intro. love the whole sound of the track (except the batman theme in the middle). but yeah like johnny said maybe missing some percussion again im far from a dubstep dude so cant say how it fits in that scheme of things but just given my opinion
  21. nice growls. wow very emotional and deep. love the chimey sound that kick at 1.30. in fact all the different melodies in it are quite good. nice change up with the percussion introducing that african-ish sound (whats the instrument that looks like a bigg metal dish, sounds like that with some tall bongos). a lot of dubstep i hear has that urgency feel an so does this. quite enjoyed it. while not necessarily a sound i would listen too, or so i thought when i first heard chevs stuff too. but i still rock his after dark ep all the time. and i really liked this too. bit long in one sitting, but if playing in the background can be soothing.
  22. yeah its pretty glitchy worse so for a mac. watch the ni forums as there are a few people always wlling to test out first and just wait for when the mac folk say its all good before you upgrade. im still on 1.2.4 i think. the one bfor ethe one that fugged everyone up pc or mac.
  23. have you got a 64 bit OSX running. sorry i know shyte all about macs, but i know traktor and the audio 8 dont play friendly with them all the time. and i read someone whinging about lack of support for 64 bit OSX. if you are ill digg up the post, if not then sorry not sure.
  24. damn these went up by $160 in 2 hours. oh yeah these are ttx1 so have the usb input for easy vinyl ripping.
  25. maybe ask your cuz for what songs/ bands he wants (maybe like ask for 10), then build a crate from that. not build a set just a crate of tracks in traktor using those 10 as the basis. that way you can still play on the fly and responding to the crowd, while still hitting all the stuff he likes. and no reason why you cant dig your collection for more on the fly, but at least you have some tracks at the ready. oh yeah thats just what i would do if i were gigging. the last "gig" i had was in the early 90's when i carted my milk tray of vinyl on my skateboard to someones house for a massive bday party. and they had rented some tt's, speakers and lights
