^ couldnt agree more i did a party for a 21st, played a fair amount of commercial to keep everyone happy.. everyone enjoyed it and that about 8 months later (like last month) i did another house party, which had pretty much the exact same group of people. I played all the shit that im into and i had people coming up to me weeks later saying how much they enjoyed the set dealing with people winging about u not playing 'stuff they know' is WELL worth it, when the same people come back and say how great ur set was, when it was full of shit they didnt know

it kinda sounds like your thinking of mixing genres that you dont LOVE, because thast what people want to hear. I got caught in that trap a while back, made me lose the passion for DJing mix what YOU want to. Doing this will make u enjoy it more, and as a result ur mixes will be infinetly better

i generally have a focus that i mix mainly (electro house) but i still love listening to trance and love DnB, im not as inclined to mix those as often though nothing wrong with listening to other things

SSD are bad ass i was watching a comparison between load times using a solid state drive and a normal one the SSD was like 13x quicker or something insane like that

i was thinking if i can, buy this xone and then if need be just hire out a DJM800 for a night and practice with it myself that way i can familiarize myself with the layout of the DJM without experimenting infront of a live audience at the end of the day the basic principles of all mixers are the same we shall see thou

Im now leaning towards a Xone:92, found one on cash converters for 1k. I sent them an email and they said 'The item seems to be unused and had to be taken out of the box to be displayed. pio gear is well known for being reliable so hopefully you wouldnt need that warranty. if anything does go wrong, you would be able to get it serviced, using the money you saved and possibly still end up infront. I suppose you gotta weigh everything up, but personally id rather buy in aus and know that it will all work without having to worry with adapters and that i will have the warranty
