Gear: Hercules rmx

I have been asked to do a house party and would like to also do more, so I'm looking to get a pair of good speakers and possibly a sub if I can afford it to do medium sized house parties, would like great sound obviously But also a fair amount of bass, budget is probly 500 max, will I need standard speakers or powered speakers with a built in amp? for use with the RMX obviously

possibly a low budget but I'm not trying to throw a 1000+ people rave lol

only speakers I've really seen are behringers and skytec, 2 brands I know nothing about

recommendations?

Cheers :D

For $500 you won't get much, and you certainly won't get a sub.

I paid $900 for my two Behringer powered speakers a few years ago, and that was a good deal.

Try looking on eBay or Trading Post for some second-hand gear.

I've heard good things about Mackie Tapco Thumps for beginners, but that is out of your budget.

As ChevChelios said above, you might be better hiring until you can afford more. I certainly recommend you don't just go out and blow what you've got on a cheap pair, as they will die on you and sound crap. Better to wait that bit longer and get something that will last and you (and clients and patrons) will enjoy using.

so i went to my local shop, they have jaycar/digitech speakers but a decent pack will cost me about $640

but this is where i got my Hercules RMX from

http://www.djcity.com.au/packages/speaker-packs_70.html

out of those packs, which would be the best for medium house parties?

remember budget is $500-600

prefereably including postage, my postcode = 4655

thanks for all the help lads ! :D

dude, when you go to a clothes you wear that shit before you buy it

you drive a car to test it

get them to crank it like it's a nightclub and you're a deaf guy

it's your hard earned money in the end, and you wanna know what they got to offer. i'm sure they'd love to do it.
