lul wut?

yeh it seems pioneer hasn't got enough cdj's as is so they are bringing out a new one, its based on the old cdj 800, but it has been updated.

fully compatable with rekordbox software, pretty simular to the 900,where will it fit in the range?, when u think about it, its a cdj 350 for all the haters saying "guhh auto beatlock wtf!!!bbq!!" will it sell?, well that depends on the price i guess, which isn't released.

the only thing which i think they should have added is hot cue points, which would make it superior to the 900

but yeah wait til more info comes out about it.

this it what i have dug up so far...

CDJ800 vs CDJ850

If you're deciding if you should purchase the CDJ850 or CDJ800, here are the main functions that the CDJ850 has that the CDJ800 does not:

- CDJ850 is compatible with MP3, AAC, WAV and AIFF digital audio formats recorded on USB storage devices or CD-R/RW discs (CDJ800 can only play audio CD, CD-R, or CD-RW)

- Incorporates rekordbox, allowing the creation and editing of playlists pre-gig, and recalling cue and loop settings for more inventive DJing.

- Larger display screen with wave display, a rotary selector and integrated browse buttons

- MIDI & HID so digital DJ software like Serato and Traktor can be used without control discs

With the CDJ850 now superseding the CDJ800, this completes Pioneer's full range of Rekordbox ready players with USB function. Pioneer is clearly banking that DJing via USB is the way of the future, but they've also kept the CD playing capabilities available while DJs make the transition. Most people these days are still happy playing with CDs, but in a year or two when CDJ1000s are phased out of clubs and replaced with Rekordbox ready CDJ900s and CDJ2000s, we might be looking at the end of the CD player.

CDJ850 vs CDJ900

Another big verses match we're expecting people to have is how the CDJ850s compare against the CDJ900s. Here's what the CDJ900 has that the CDJ850 does not have:

- no link function

- no digital out

- screen is not raised and titled

- no slip mode

- no secondary timings on the beat cutters

- display is 2 lines and a waveform (CDJ900 has 3+info and a waveform)

- the time information is displayed smaller than on the 900

So, apart from some minor display differences and some cool features like the slip mode, the big difference between the two players is that you can't link two CDJ850s together. Having no link feature means you can't share a pair of CDJ850s over one USB source and you also lose out on other handy Rekordbox features. Whether that's enough of a deal breaker when deciding which player to purchase is up to the individual.

nice vid :] i jsut noticed my no named cd decks pretty much have most of the features =p

you'll start to see that alot now.

Denon is the main brain behind most of these features if you look closely at there gear, but because its Pioneer, everyone thinks they're amazing and ground breaking!
