  1. Welcome bruz
  2. Cupe is le boss, you ask him
  3. Will DL when I get on comp next, wicked track!
  4. What you said above sounds like you've got it covered. Make sure you have plenty of variety though, so you can change song choice depending on mood of the night.
  5. Two main things to check: -make sure you used record out on back of mixer -make sure you use line in input on computer, NOT mic input. Mic input has a different gain adjustment than a line in input

welcome bro As said, don't be afraid to ask questions, we don't bite.... much enjoy your stay
  7. No probs man, let us know how you get on
  8. That Q is probably for a new thread, but just to anser quickly, definately by ear. BPM reader on CDJs is only to the nearest BPM, so for example if you have a song playing at 127.2 BPM it only shows 127. That isn't precise enough to get them matched. Also, the BPM readers are not always 100% accurate, so you need to train your ears up to be able to set the pitch faders in the right spot. Refer to how to DJ thread (amongst others) in beginner section for some basic tutorials on beatmatching)
  9. @Sol's comment: I wouldn't rely on linking the CDJs to traktor. i tried it, mapping was a bit dodgy. They do have the ability for HID which would be better, but traktor hasn't updated their software to be capable of that feature (yet). I went straight from a midi controller to CDJ 850s, best thing i ever did. Full size jog wheels are so good, being full size like the pro models. USB support is also very handy. Off the top of my head, main features you gain over 350s: -Full size platter -Bigger screen - can see 3 tracks at once when browsing, as opposed to one on 350s -(Very) Basic Waveform on screen Main feautures missing from 850's that are in 900's and 2000's -tilted screen -full colour display (2000's only) -Slip mode (900 only) -Recordbox LAN Support - which if your planning on using USBs anyway, not too much of an issue -Quantised looping -Different sort options in categories (at least i haven't been able to do it, but you definately can on 900s/2000s) When comparing to 1000s, I've used them at venue, and IMO the 850's are better - main feature you loose is hot cues, but you gain auto loops and recordbox USB support. I'm extremely happy with mine. As with everything though, at the end of the day, comes down to you get what you pay for. If you have any other q's about 850s just hit me or Jaz up and will be able to help you out PS. 850s are available new in black now too
  10. Gonna jump in before street and say what he uses lol. Logic (with a bunch of cool plugins obviously)
  11. As stated in quite a few above posts ADJUST YOUR LATENCIES! Your CPU is in overload the whole time before you even load tracks. I remember when i used my mac when i had my midi (2.4 ghz Core 2 Duo), CPU never went over 5%. CPU usage would expected to be higher on timecode, but not too much higher when its just sitting there without any song playing (or even loaded to decks). Latency increases CPU usage alot, INCREASE latency and see if that reduces CPU usage before you come back to us.
  12. I was about to ask around for some tips on this too, as i'm gonna have a crack at wazza's comp. + an 18th with a lot of mates i know there, it will be full of hip hop fans. Cheers for this advice imadje
  13. You could set up shared folders on laptop/ desktop and if on same neteork use a sync program to sync the two folders. On phone ATM, can post more specific details on how to do this when I get home if your interested
  14. ^^he's actually a magician
  15. You shouldnt need mk2 time code, it's an optional upgrade
  16. Welcome bro Melb ftw
  17. What all above said. But maybe look on YouTube, there may be a tutorial hd 25 specific which will tell you the wires
  18. dubstep, but still has a heavy electro/complextro sound to it. Keeping your flavour on the genre, digging it man! Also keeps it from sounding the same as everyone else out there All your releases are top notch man

  21. We discussed and linked the above options to him in earlier thread - viewtopic.php?f=41&t=7785 He chose to take this path over the cable path (just so you know russell, think it was before you joined the family )
  22. Lurk6r is essentially trying to alert people of companies that are sending out people without proper knowledge, experience and equipment to do gigs, yet stating the equipment is professional and the 'DJs' are experienced and capable of the job when they often aren't
