    USB to midi

You should be able to get that to work
  14. Sounds like a firewall problem. If you make a thread in the computer section I'd be happy to help you out
  15. Those synths and chords feel kinda dark/cold to me, but the kick and bass/sub bass feels fairly warm. With the intro you could step out the introduction of elements a bit more - e.g. bring that synth in after 8 bars, then the claps after the next 8. It feels very full on when you click play. If you had a tighter/punchier kick that came through the mix a bit more i think that would help a fair bit. Also the mixdown could do with some work, but it's a good start. Keep at it
  16. RCA plugged into the rec out on the mixer, connecting to aux input on computer is fine for recording mixes. Audacity is also fine to use. Rekordbox is the current standard for prepping tracks to put on USB for playing out. Very handy. If you're looking for a program to help with track organisation, have a look at mixed in key. It detects the tempo and key of a track and saves it into the track info, which is handy for creating harmonically pleasing sets. http://www.mixedinkey.com/

    USB to midi

That adapter will work. However if you have the budget i'd recommend an external soundcard with midi in/out as russell said. You'll get a much better sound out of an external card compared to the iMac built in card.
  19. Yer those days are well over. PS dope thread YSM
