Proper traktor cables have two pairs of rca plugs for each deck, one pair goes into a line in on the mixer and supplies music from laptop, the other pair goes into a dif line in on mixer (but same channel) and supplies direct music from cd player. they are built this way so you can play from a normal cd while swapping laptops etc.

Madeon Live mashup on Novation Lauchpad.... crazy shit.

Jive bunny has come along way lol. ...a few piano lessons, 3 or 4 days preperation time warping quantisation and any of us could have done that fookin dope tho, kid should go far. -
Loved that man. I love seeing what a djs hands are doing too... To me the sound of all those little nudges on the platter are the source of the energy a human dj has that a sync function doesnt... but I can only really tell when I can see the hands too. that basscannon tune is massive round here at the mo too, crackin.

xone 22 has a version of the allen and heath voltage controlled filters. They set the bar and have maintained it. All the pioneer djm mixers sync the filter sweep to tempo, you just get to choose how many beats it takes for full sweep. Xone series give you real control off their filters although only a button to choose resonance not a rotary pot. Still the best filter you can get on a DJ mixer IMO. The xone 22 is a serious piece of kit mate.

grrr. just got back from a wedding function. it was an ok/up for it crowd of about 100 but they had shit taste in music. grrr but I do the job whatever the situation so even though i'm polluting my ears it's all going off and they're buzzin: Then 10 min from the end the dancefloor is packed and some cock is carrying his pint above everyones heads... fookin spillage/drippage all over... not a direct hit on my kit but a splash on my mac then my NS6 just cuts out with all power off! Didnt dare turn it back on so just ended the night there... fookin pissed whales are the same wherever you go and coz they were too drunk to understand me explaining the risk of electrocution from turning the gear back on they all got arsey and started the nonsense. I already got my money so just made like a banana but it was a shit end to a crap night and left me needing a rant (thanks adjf). Checked the kit at home already and it seems ok so i'm hoping it was one of the power extensions that got splashed and shorted the power. whales tho.

^ what caps said -
^ ooops, Soz man. It's real good of you to do those favours tho mate. It's so hard to find someone willing to do a function like a mobile DJ but who can also tear the arse out of it once the olds have left the party.
-
^ i was thinking that mattus... ...but isnt the island the one that starts at dance tempo then increases to drum n bass (approx 125 bpm to 165 bpm) at some point of the tune? if so sol big up. There's a great effect to be had by doing this sort of mix, just hope you lock it b4 the tempo change. If i havent said it already: good luck.

How Many Songs (Full Versions) Have you have ?
imadje replied to tommykesh's topic in DJ Headquarters
itunes says i have 6579 but these include whole collections of stuff for mobile work which i dont listen to at home. also include draft mixes of my own prod and the occasional duplicate. vinyl collection stands at 1000. It's actually more than that but as many are records bought 2nd hand for scratching/sampling I rounded down to 1000 for insurance purposes. majority of vinyl is scratched/unplayable but full of too many memories to let go off. -
ez Cupe. I dunno if i'm missing something but to find all the threads I am following I have to go back to my email and follow each individual link back to adjf. ...on the serato forum they send one email to let you know there have been posts on threads you're following. then when you log in there is a little menu of all the threads you're watching and which have posts. This menu is part of your profile page and links from the top menu of any thread/post you are on. This means you can navigate to everything that involves you without having to go back to your email account. Much quicker, much easier, much less window clutter. Shame there's no content. But would it be a major pain to sort that on here? It aint worth putting yourself out for, just a suggestion.

Cool. I only aim to share positives. It's honestly not my impressions of you though, there's nothing personal and I aint digging at all. You asked "how else would you find out how the world works" so I was sharing what I've learnt about me and how life goes depending on how I act. I'll have gone too far though as usual, thats what happens if you ask a hippy a rhetorical question... But we are so far off-topic now. Soz Caps, this thread was finding you a wedding DJ I know. My bad.

interesting approach... but much more darkside than the avatar would suggest. I find frustrating people winds them up so they get defensive and tell less. Personally i like to listen/read a lot to try and see who is offering knowledge, who is bigging themselves up for the sake of rep, who is hiding behind defensive attitudes etc... then I try and ask reasonable questions: getting considered answers and feeling the benefits of wisdom is really useful for learning. there will be dicks, and good guys who are high can be really confusing but they are part of the process yes. the main thing is dont be one yaself... you get what you give what goes around comes around instant karma gonna get ya

you mean those crazy excited kids? lol
