The MOTU micro lite USB provides 5 MIDI IN, 5 MIDI OUT, 80 MIDI channels and compatibility with all Macintosh and Windows software. Large front-panel LEDs illuminate to indicate MIDI activity. And the micro lite is powered by the USB port -- no wall wart or AC plug. 2. Cost of these in the UK are going to be £499 each.
  3. knowing pioneer it's built to be upgraded in a years time
  4. I'd def check them out. I want to upgrade my technics as they're pretty old and been through a lot. These look like a good replacement. It's either that or buying a second hand pair of technics.
  5. http://pioneerdj.com/english/products/t ... -1000.html Looks pretty good. Basically a technics design with some extra features.
  6. I would have an RCA to TRS cable going from my mixer to my soundcard to allow for recording.
  7. they're not serato's own brand. They are an Ortofon model designed for using with tracking vinyl. Also, I haven't used that particular model but ortofons are my preffered choice of cart.
  8. use anything from this for starters... All the best for the comp.
  9. Being back in the UK I've got record shops and charity shops and online shops and car boot sales and cheap discogs postage in my favour.... 1 of the +'s to being back here.
  10. I usually put a beat together first but like has been mentioned sometimes I'll jam a melody out or a bass line and take it from there. just go with it and see where your inspiration takes you.
  11. nice mate. garts on how well its doing n'all.

  14. work your way through this... http://www.pianonanny.com/
  15. the modulation capabilities look awesome. I might check out the demo. Although I don't really know if there's space in my life for another DAW. Already using Abelton and Logic
  16. the bass response is adjustable on the KRK's. they are good for production but as MrCh0w said you have test your tracks on various output sources to find the correct balance anyway. They would definitely do a good job but also are far from the best studio monitors available (reflected in the price though)
  17. I have KRK Rokits and Focal MS40's (Smaller units for travelling with). Going by the quality of the Focal's I have their larger units will be awesome too. Could also recommend Genelic or Tannoy units from experience.
  18. watch his youtube channel.. so many good videos. This one especially.... looping vinyl and everything bets thing about KiNK is how happy he looks to be doing what he's doing. WHALE fucking loves it.
  19. i'm not even gonna watch it
  20. don't use beatport but when I read about this i thought it sounded pretty cool. I like the multiple shopping carts idea.
  21. band camp is good but it's not as easy to find music on it compared to soundcloud. Better in the sense that artists sell their music directly though.
  22. singed. I could do with an upgrade of my 1210's.
  23. Soundcloud seems to be having more and more issues all the time these days. It really needs a competitor to keep it on it toes
  24. i felt the exact same way. but, had that 'why not' mentality going on. add me to that list too
