Melbourne artists Wildfire & Sophiegrophy have come together to show that G-house isn’t dead. The duo are artists we’re all quite familiar in the Aussie and more specifically Melbourne scene. Wildfire with multiple ARIA chart hits and Sophiegrophy having support from all the important people (us included) as one of the more exciting up and comers in hip hop! Their latest Now Wait is exactly what we go to Melbourne crew Jump To This for. It’s a heavy hitting house track that forces you to move. Sophiegrophy pulls no punches, her flow and lyrical prowess accompanying the beats perfectly to give it an all round club stomper of a vibe. Check it out below and grab it here so you can tell us what you think because there’s no doubt you’ll be hearing this one out! Source

Arguably the most important study undertaken in 2018 has unveiled its results, and – cue cliché – the results will SHOCK you. I am of course referring to SpaSpeakers study into the filthiest music festivals in the UK. The really dirty, stanky festivals that you cannot help but let your inner, mud-craving piglet out at. So without further ado, here are the top 10 filthiest fezzis. Download Festival Creamfields Reading and Leeds Festival V Festival (now known as RiZE) BBC Big Weekend Wireless Festival Isle of Wight Festival Parklife Bestival Latitude Any shock entrants there? The study also found the average amount of sleep a punter has at any of these events, and it’s not a whole lot. The best festival sleepers were found at Download festival, with attendants kipping for an average of 4 hours and 18 minutes each night, with Bestival ranking lowest with an average of 3 hours and 2 minutes. Yikes. So, have you attended any of these muddy, tiresome festivals? Let us know what you think is the filthiest Aussie festival in the comments. [Via: Mixmag] Source

This coming December smalltown returns with a day/night event situated in an outdoor, inner-city location. It follows in the footsteps of the huge Easter weekend show with Dusky, and the massive 2017 doubleheader featuring Oliver Huntemann and Charlotte de Witte. With both those smalltown events selling out way ahead of time, it’s highly like that you can expect more of the same. More info on the venue and production to follow very soon, but rest assured, your patience will be rewarded. Stephen Bodzin (GER) There aren’t many artists who can currently lay claim to being more celebrated than Stephan Bodzin. His live melodic version of techno is designed to stay with you long after the final beat has ended, inspiring fans to reminisce via online videos which always receive hundreds of thousands of views. It is no hyperbole to state that Bodzin is part of the dance music elite and one of the planet’s biggest drawcards. Soundcloud. Marcel Dettmann (GER) Marcel Dettmann’s Teutonic brand of techno has turned him into a global superstar. The fact that he is a Berghain resident sometimes overshadows his true appeal: a performance machine with a technical proficiency rarely seen, a DJ metronome who never misses a beat. Pay attention; the master is back. Dense + Pika (UK) The duo of Dense + Pika inhabits a space which many artists unsuccessfully try to reach. Their accessible style of techno never takes itself too seriously, yet displays a niche edge which also appeals to purists of the sound. Check their Essential Mix earlier this year for proof, an absolute masterclass in showcasing all shades of techno. Made In Paris (AUS) Local support comes from rising Sydney star Made in Paris. The Upon Access label owner has pushed all the right buttons lately, finally fulfilling many industry insider’s predictions of her being the ‘one to watch’. We are very excited to finally have this future star on a smalltown lineup. This all sounds pretty good, doesn’t it, cop tix here and tell us if you’ll be heading along! Source

Sydney artist Sparrows has been slowly making waves as she builds her repertoire and hones in on her sound. With that, her latest track Over & Out is her most defining yet. Beginning with a tribal groove, Sparrows creates a brooding atmosphere, before breaking off into a dreamy chorus, mixed in with 80s style synths and a housey hook that gets you moving. The tune finds a way to meld danceability and dramatic feel without being uncomfortable and you could picture it between a couple of disco tracks at the club, with a face value fun feel that develops into so much more. This light and dark contrast seems to be what Sparrows has gone for saying, ‘The song is duplicitous in nature – it’s about the ending of a friendship, but also the ending of any scenario/habit that no longer sits right with you.’ A sentiment that’s far too relatable. We can’t get enough, so check it out below and tell us what you think, is Sparrows the next big thing? Sparrows will be on tour later in 2018 19th October – Otto’s House Party – Sydney NSW w/ San Mei 23rd November – Penny Black – Melbourne VIC Source

If you think some warehouse parties are pushing it when it comes to the location of densely populated raves, this former coal mine is certainly one of the most bizarre spaces yet to be converted into a club. Despite being located within a remote industrial complex in Germany, the space, named Essen’s Zollverein Coal Mine has proven to be a winner, having served as the location for a rare techno party held by Telekom Electronic Beats and Baka Gaijin. Germany has always been the subject of colossal warehouse parties, from Berlin’s historical UFO party to a recent shindig in Landschaftspark. In the present day, there seems to be an abundance of industrial sites that inevitably become the subject of illegal raves. Whilst many of these parties are a peril to authorities, its reported that you can legally throw around three or four parties per year at the mine as it is heritage listed. Alexis Fallias of Baka Gaijin speaks on the two recent parties saying “Both venues, in my opinion, don’t need big headliners because the venue is the headliner. After I picked Ryan Elliot up from the airport, when he saw the venue, he said it reminded him of his hometown in Detroit.” God only knows how this venue passed health and safety standards, but ravers will be delighted nonetheless. However, these rare parties come and go in an instant, so don’t miss out! [Via: Youredm] Source

Attila shows have been known to get wild, with the Atlanta metalcore band often whipping the crowd into a frenzy. But things really got out of hand at the band’s gig in Las Vegas last night (August 22nd). Fan-filmed video shows the band’s frontman Chris Fronzak violently punching a security guard in the back of the head, bringing the show to an abrupt end. Fronzak was apparently upset about the way security at the Hard Rock Live was handling the audience, and launched into a expletive-filled tirade onstage, vowing to never play Vegas again because of the venue’s “bullshit security motherf–kers.” He then went over to the front of the stage and punched a security guard in the back of the head with brute force, and then called the guard a “bitch” multiple times. Video of the incident was posted on Instagram and YouTube (seen below), and, in one angle, you can see the security guard being restrained from retaliating by the other security personnel. Fronzak seemed to boast about the incident on Twitter, saying, “Just had to fight security again god damn… shows over… Videos coming soon… Sorry Las Vegas.” He then followed with more tweets, one reading, “These dudes last night were on a power trip….. a 120 pound crowd surfer with a smile on their face isn’t a THREAT. You don’t need to go out of your way to assault that person. It’s a god damn rock show.” Another one read, “Man I wish y’all could see everything I saw from my point of view. Of course the videos only show me after I f–king snapped. The videos don’t show these abusive motherf–kers that were choking my fans and powerslamming them into the concrete…” Even if we take Fronzak’s word that security was being rough on the fans, still seems like a suspect move for him to sucker punch the guard like that. Maybe he should actually be thanking security for holding that one guard back. Just had to fight security again god damn……. shows over…. Useless blood bag Mark David Chapman, who’s been serving a life sentence over at New York’s Wende Correctional Facility for killing beloved Beatle John Lennon back December of 1980, was denied parole for a 10th time today (via ABC). Not that anyone’s surprised. The 63-year-old deranged lunatic was denied two years ago in 2016, and he’ll likely be denied two years from now in 2020 when he’s up for parole once more. If anything, this story is to prove that, yes, justice still exists in this world. On that note, does anyone remember that hilarious scene in Private Parts, when Howard Stern tries to get Robin Quivers’ loser replacement to say, “I want to kill Mark David Chapman,” on the air? As Stern adds, “I say electrocute him.” Paul McCartney's Top 5 Non Beatles Songs Bohemian Rhapsody Movie Trailer Phil Collins' Top 5 Songs David Bowie's Top 5 Songs Oasis’ Top 5 Songs Source

On Tuesday, it was announced that Danny Boyle was stepping down as the director of the upcoming James Bond movie, a move that came just three months before the 25th installment of the spy franchise was set to start shooting. At the time, it was unclear if the movie’s release date would be impacted. Now, The Hollywood Reporter affirms that yes, it most certainly will. According to THR, the film might not hit theaters until late 2020, which is a far cry from its initial release date of November 8th, 2019. The good news is that it gives Daniel Craig plenty of time to talk to more CIA agents. (Ranking: Every James Bond Film From Worst to Best) The report also reveals that there was tension over John Hodge’s script for the film. Hodge, a longtime Boyle collaborator—he wrote scripts for both Trainspotting films, as well as The Beach—stepped in for Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, who, up until this point, have written every Bond film starring Daniel Craig. The pair did pen a previous draft of the upcoming film, but Boyle, it seems, chose to use his own writer. Source

Nearly 50 years into their career, Judas Priest are still going strong. In fact, their 2018 album Firepower is being hailed as their best in years. But will the disc be the legendary metal band’s swan song? According to bassist Ian Hill, the answer is “no.” Judas Priest have suffered some setbacks this decade, with guitarist K.K. Downing leaving the band in 2011 and fellow axe-man Glenn Tipton recently having to step away from touring after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. But Priest have soldiered on, first recruiting Richie Faulkner to replace Downing, and then Andy Sneap to fill in for Tipton. When asked by Musik Universe (via Metal Hammer) if Firepower would be the band’s final album, Hill responded, “We haven’t planned anything like that. There is no reason to stop doing these things. Glenn can play for a while, even during a bad day. It’s just that he can’t play for a whole show for now – and that could change if there are some interventions that can help it.” He added, “So there is no reason to stop writing new songs, he is quite capable of composing riffs and playing for a while to record an album. So we don’t expect Firepower to be the last album.” There is some question as to what Tipton’s health struggles might mean for Judas Priest’s future as a touring act. While he has been making on and off appearances with the band during their current tour in support of Firepower, Tipton has been otherwise replaced onstage by Sneap. At the present time, according to a recent interview singer Rob Halford gave to the podcast Rock Talk With Mitch Lafon, Sneap is going to stick with the group through the end of the current trek, but beyond that, his status in the band is uncertain. “I think I can safely say that Andy will be with us through what’s left of the Firepower tour, which is gonna be through the rest of this year and most of next year as well,” explained Halford. “Where we go from that, we can’t even look and see.” The frontman added, “He’s committed to this band for as long as we need him. Andy is a prolific producer. He lives in his studio back home in Derbyshire [England]. That’s what he does — he gets up in the morning and goes to the studio and there it is. That’s his life. So we’re tremendously grateful to Andy for stepping away from that and standing in Glenn’s place for the Firepower tour.” As for 2019, Halford recently revealed to Philadelphia radio station WMMR that the band is in early talks to do something special next year to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Says Halford, “We’re already having discussions every now and again in the band, with our label, our promoters and management. We have some ideas and when we get close to solidifying something, we’ll let you know. It’s going to be a great year – what a celebration. Another incredible milestone for Judas Priest that we’re looking forward to sharing with everybody.” See Judas Priest’s Firepower, along with our other picks, in Heavy Consequence’s list of the Best Metal Albums of 2018 So Far. Here’s some good news: The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that HBO is currently developing a “space comedy” starring Hugh Laurie from Armando Iannucci, the creative force behind hit comedies like Veep and The Thick of It. Laurie will star as Ryan Clark, “the charming and in-control American captain of the Avenue 5,” which we’re gonna go ahead and assume is a spaceship, what with the futuristic series being said to unfold “mostly in space.” Iannucci created the series and will executive produce the series, which was picked up to pilot last September and will film later this year. It follows Succession, a recent series from Iannucci collaborator Jesse Armstrong, who wrote on both Veep and The Thick of It. Laurie’s previous series, Chance, recently saw cancellation at Hulu after two seasons. His relationship with Iannuci dates back to Veep‘s fourth season, in which he had a memorable recurring role. Next year, he’ll appear as Major de Coverley in Hulu’s six-part Catch-22 miniseries. Source

This month saw The Weeknd contribute to two of hip-hop’s biggest albums in Nicki Minaj’s Queen and Travis Scott’s chart-topping Astroworld. The R&B crooner born Abel Tesfaye is back today, but this time with his own music in tow. Tesfaye debuted two new songs on the second episode of his Beats 1 program “Memento Mori”, which launched back in June. One of those is a remix of his My Dear Melancholy cut “Try Me” featuring additional guest contributions from Quavo of Migos, Trouble, and Rae Sremmurd’s own Swae Lee. The Lowdown: Twelve years into his career with Alice in Chains, it’s time to stop calling singer William DuVall the new guy. The band’s second chapter has already proven to be successful with their two previous albums, 2009’s Black Gives Way to Blue and 2013’s The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here, and the grunge heroes deliver another solid effort on their latest disc, Rainier Fog. Jerry Cantrell and company aren’t exactly breaking new ground with the record, once again offering up their signature brand of vocal harmonies and droning guitars — but that’s what they do and they do it well. The Good: Alice in Chains were always the most metal of the big grunge bands, and the standout tracks on the album are the ones that bring the heavy guitars. “The One You Know” and “So Far Under”, both unveiled prior to the album’s release, each throw a few droplets of Slayer into the riffs, providing a thunderous backdrop to the twin vocals of DuVall and Cantrell. On the more melodic side, “Never Fade”, another early single, is a sure-fire rock radio hit featuring one of the band’s most infectious choruses in years, while the track “Maybe” sprinkles in a bit of Beatles charm with a little Guns N’ Roses balladry. The album closes out with the beautifully somber seven-minute “All I Am”. The Bad: Yes, Alice in Chains’ ’90s output is the stuff of legend, and, yes, the world lost a tremendous talent in Layne Staley, but DuVall is a more-than-worthy successor. What’s missing on Rainier Fog are signature songs like “Man in the Box”, “Rooster” and “Would?”. While the album does contain a few gems, none of the tracks quite hit you in face with the supersonic punch of the band’s most beloved tunes. The Verdict: Rainier Fog pays tribute to Alice in Chains’ hometown of Seattle in both title and sound. While not the strongest of the band’s second-era output, it’s a nice addition to Alice in Chains’ impressive discography. Essential Tracks: “The One You Know”, “Maybe”, “So Far Under”, “Never Fade”, “All I Am” Source

What if you took Meet the Feebles, sanitized it, and removed all the jokes? That’s the overall tenor of The Happytime Murders, the latest attempt to ride the long-departed Avenue Q train of subversive dark comedies starring puppets. Sure, the initial novelty of having cute, fuzzy Muppets inhabit a dark world of sex, drugs, and crime is intermittently diverting, but all its jokes about puppet ejaculate bursting forth like Silly String and ‘pilafing’ (don’t ask) hardly make up for the fact that it’s a bad Funny or Die sketch stretched out to feature length. Directed by Brian Henson (son of Jim, for whom this was a longtime passion project), The Happytime Murders is set in a seedy, Chinatown-esque world in which puppets exist as a marginalized lower class to humans. Phil Phillips (voiced and puppeteered by Bill Barretta) is a former cop, disgraced after a botched hostage situation and alienated from his onetime human partner, Connie Edwards (Melissa McCarthy). Now a private detective, he’s brought back into the fold after a sultry felt fatale (brought to life by Dorien Davies) asks him to investigate a mysterious blackmail note. Meanwhile, puppet actors from the hit syndicated sitcom The Happytime Gang are being gruesomely slain, one by one. In classic L.A. noir fashion, the two separate cases turn out to secretly be the same case, and Phillips and Edwards have to put aside their differences and work together. There are a lot of films fighting for attention over the course of The Happytime Murders’ thankfully short runtime – an edgy puppet comedy, a noir parody, a Melissa McCarthy vehicle, a play on Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, and a few more still. Henson and screenwriter Todd Berger (It’s a Disaster) can’t decide which of these films to focus on, leaving them to throw everything at the screen at once. Happytime’s greatest risk is also its greatest flaw: turning the straight-laced noir detective Phillips into the straight man in a buddy-comedy scenario with McCarthy. McCarthy gets to show off her considerable comedic chops (especially admirable, considering the obnoxious material she’s given to work with), but at the expense of what’s supposed to be the film’s protagonist. At a certain point in poorly executed high-concept comedies, one hits “the wall” – that point where the film’s primary joke has run its course, but the movie bravely soldiers on, unaware that it’s lost the attention of everyone in attendance. For The Happytime Murders, that point is approximately twenty minutes in. It becomes clear all too quickly that “puppets say swears” is all the film has to offer, so it’s a slog to sit through the remaining seventy minutes of that same joke, repeated ad nauseam. On occasion, the puppet parallels elicit the rare chuckle: sugar is a cocaine-like drug, puppets explode into fluff when they get a faceful of lead, and a TV-star puppet brags that he had his felt bleached to look younger. These are minor distractions, though, cheap gags arrived at cheaply, and they’re as likely to induce as many eye-rolls as much as bemused chuckles. The human supporting cast fares little better, including Maya Rudolph as Phillips’ ditzy, anachronistic secretary, and Joel McHale as an asshole FBI agent; they each get one snort-worthy gag, and then disappear. Given Happytime’s transparent commitment to one or two unfunny bits, it’s especially frustrating when the film reaches pitifully for pathos. The relationship between Phillips and Edwards is a contentious one, two broken people – one flesh, one felt – trying to fix their lives with each other’s help. The problem is that, for a film so eager to push buttons it doesn’t know have already been pushed, The Happytime Murders is tediously conventional when it comes to an actual story. Cut the strings of the puppet façade, and all that’s left is an awkward montage of a boilerplate detective story and a buddy cop movie. A joke delivery machine is only good if the jokes are actually funny. Even in her worst films, McCarthy is wonderful when used well, and it’s a miracle she can save any of Happytime’s horridly unfunny scenes. Whether she’s snorting glitter through a Twizzler to prove she’s not a cop, or shaking down a misogynistic puppet for clues, she throws in the same energy that rightfully earned her an Oscar nomination for Bridesmaids. But when you’re faced with the challenge of interacting with a largely puppeted cast (and a poorly-rendered one at that), there’s only so much hyperactive energy you can hurl at the screen. It doesn’t help that the movie looks so cheap – it’s lit with the bright, even blandness of your average Reno 911! episode. For her valiant efforts at keeping Happytime afloat, McCarthy should be praised. Alas, it simply isn’t enough. At the end of the day, the problem isn’t that the puppets fuck, but that the puppets don’t make us laugh while they fuck. This is a film that confuses “Maya Rudolph keeps a banana in her purse” and “Puppet Chicks with Puppet Dicks” with actual jokes. Don’t give it too much credit. If this film was released fifteen years ago it might – might – have felt edgy, or new, or transgressive. But in an age where the director of Meet the Feebles is now one of the biggest directors around, and the edgy notion of “puppets who fuck” has already been explored in Team America and Avenue Q and even the Puppet Master series, The Happytime Murders comes too little and far, far too late. Burning Man is iconic, a gathering of lost souls, something of a pilgrimage even. We get that, we like the idea behind it, but there’s been this Burning Man film Ignite released and yeah we’re not sure how we feel about it. There’s no denying the film is beautifully made, but there’s something about it that feels a little too polished. Like it misses the Burning Man feel. In what would be an insomniacs nightmare, artist Dubfire has broken the world record for longest DJ set ever at Sunwaves Festival. You might remember we hold a record for the largest b2b DJ relay but there’s no need to stress, this is separate, we still hold our glory. A previous gig of the same nature was done by Marco Carola, who held the record with 24 hours. Dubfire’s effort however, took him 26 and a half, beefing up the marathon set and overtaking the prior record by two hours! We see that he has a relentless touring schedule with his next gig coming in this Saturday which should be enough recovery time for another right? All we know is that this was a great publicity stunt and hopefully gets some well deserved rest so he doesn’t make it onto our next list of sleepy DJs. [Via: Youredm] Source

Sydney siders JV & Palf have released a new EP, Wren which is lighting up radios across Australia. The Liveschool alumni have been releasing separately for a while but have come together for their EP on October Records and it’s something special. There is nothing accidental about any of the rhythm and tracks from the EP. Finely chosen in depth and precision we get introduced to Don’t Stop which entrances you to well balanced low end kicks and tribal percussion. More serious in nature, JBNT crafts menacing grooves with the distinct UK wubs next to concise drum fills and snares you know any good outdoor rave would be all about. Coming to a crescendo of dense and steamy percussion, the track Gully fills your ears in an Amazonian way to round out the EP. Fate is a funny thing and JV and Palf being around each others music seems to be just that. The EP’s description saying, ‘JV and Palf were already fans of each other’s individual work – JV releasing under Plantlife and Palf under IljusWifmo – before meeting at a warehouse party in 2013. From there, they started sending tracks back and forth to each other online until they finished one song, which quickly turned into the Wren EP.‘ FBI has put the Liveschool alumni on heavy rotation so you’ll surely be hearing a lot from the two. Lie back and give the EP a listen and let us know if you’re getting around the tracks. Source

The Lowdown: On his spectacular fourth album as Blood Orange, Dev Hynes realizes a grand vision. Negro Swan is narrated by Janet Mock, the writer, activist, and filmmaker who recently made history as the first trans woman of color to write and direct an episode of television through her work on FX’s Pose. Just as Pose shows how the struggles of queer and trans people of color who built the ballroom culture of 1980s New York still resonate today, Negro Swan carries forward that battle of finding a family and forging a place for yourself in a world where you’re told you don’t belong. The Good: With songs clearly indebted to the groove of funk and dance-pop of the ‘80s, Hynes is one of the few artists of his era who is able to transcend mere nostalgia. His writing is rich with the immediacy of the present, hyper aware of its influences yet never to the point where it could detract from the way he synthesizes them into something new. Negro Swan finds Hynes experimenting with the constraints of structure, fluidly shifting between multiple styles and genres throughout the album. The Bad: Hynes described the album as “a reach back into childhood and modern traumas,” and that pain weighs throughout songs like the slow-tempo funk of “Out of Your League” and the darkened jazz of “Saint.” All the while, Hynes’ melodies present a deep longing for some sort of relief. A cloud hangs over the album, the darkest Blood Orange record yet, an immersive experience that sometimes lacks the bright hooks that served as entry points to his earlier work. In their place is a contemporary blues sound and pained soul sound that envelopes you on moments like the blistering “Nappy Wonder”. The Verdict: Hynes writes timeless songs about the way joy and sorrow cannot survive without one another, and on Negro Swan, he has blossomed with a complete mastery of his sound. With an airtight focus, Hynes builds worlds in his music, whether it’s the stretched guitar riff of “Charcoal Baby” evoking a lethargic daze or the stripped-down atmospheric “Smoke” bristling with the intimacy of a private message of reinforcement from a close friend. Though nothing from the album may ever get played in a ballroom, Negro Swan is a grand work that gives credit to the pioneers of the culture while building a path forward within that framework, placing Hynes firmly in the canon as one of the most insightful musicians of his generation. Last week, the tragic news broke that Korn singer Jonathan Davis‘ wife Deven had died Friday at the age of 39. TMZ had reported that the couple was estranged and that Jonathan had filed a restraining order against her that same day to block her from seeing their children. According to the TMZ report, Jonathan claimed in court papers that Deven was using drugs and that he had recently found her passed out with drug paraphernalia around her when he went to return the kids to her. Now, in his own statement via his Twitter account, Jonathan says that Deven was plagued by mental illness and addiction for many years. His full statement reads: Over the last few days, there has been a lot of speculation over what really happened surrounding the death of my wife, Deven, and I want my voice to be heard. Over the past decade, my wife has been very, very sick. She had a very serious mental illness and her addiction was a side effect. I loved her with ALL of my being. When she was her true self, she was an amazing wife, amazing mother and amazing friend. Deven had a huge heart, and she would never intentionally hurt her children or anyone that she loved. She was an incredibly nurturing, giving, loving and hilarious person. She was full of life and joy, and would do anything to share that with those around her. I tried to hide what was going on for so long in order to protect her, but because of this tragedy that has happened to my family, I feel that now is the time to share the truth with all of you. She is the reason I have advocated so hard for those struggling with their mental health. I want her story to inspire people to reach out for help, and not to be afraid or hide from their illness. If you know someone with a mental illness, have compassion and empathy, and know that they are not bad people, they are suffering. I want this to inspire change. I want California law to change to help people like me help others get the help they need. How can someone who is sick realize themselves that they need help? She wasn’t well enough to realize how sick she really was, and wasn’t able to get the help for herself that she really needed. This shouldn’t have to happen to other mothers, or anyone for that matter. I’d give anything to have the chance to hold her again. I’d give anything for my kids to have their mother back. I have comfort in knowing that now she has found freedom from her illness, and she is finally at peace. Deven, love you bebe. I’ll never love anyone the way I loved you, and I’ll never get over losing you. I promise I’ll do everything in my power to raise our precious boys the right way, teach them the good values you wanted them to have so badly, and to break the cycle of abuse we both experienced as kids. I’ll do everything I can to make your dreams you that you had for the future come true in your memory. The tattoo down your back, the poem I wrote for you when we started dating, said, “Even in death I’ll be by your side my love,” in German. I swear one day with you by your side when my ride here on earth is over. I love you, Luber. pic.twitter.com/TWYDUHZq5G — Jonathan Davis (@JDavisOfficial) August 23, 2018 Source

I’m starting to get sick of writing about this, Disclosure have gone three for three, releasing for our listening pleasure Love Can Be So Hard. How many hours have been spent listening to this Youtube genre of music, hoping for it to get a big popular break? Well here we are, steering away from acapella groups they’ve decided to take us on a future-funk journey. It takes from 80s synth pop vibes, chops it up and mixes it around. Think a lot of rewinds, a lot of unfinished vocal cuts and it all blends in with a beautiful bass driven background. We’re not too sure what Disclosure are doing, maybe they took a leaf from Kaytranada’s book, maybe they’d planned to do it all along, but honestly we have zero complaints. We’re going to continue feeding it into our veins so check it out below so you can do the same! This is probably our favourite of the releases thus far, what do you think? Source

Ben Affleck has checked into rehab, according to TMZ. The 46-year-old actor has long struggled with alcoholism and he’s sought treatment on at least three different occasions over the last 15 years. In a statement following his most recent stint in rehab in December 2017, Affleck said his alcohol addiction was “something I’ve dealt with in the past and will continue to confront.” TMZ reports that Affleck agreed to go back to rehab at the urging of his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. Affleck is attached to several notable upcoming projects, including another Batman film, a Justice League sequel, a remake of Witness for the Prosecution, and a telling of the real-life McDonald’s Monopoly scam. Despite hosting a fairly incident free FIFA World Cup that showed the world Russia is capable of being a relatively normal country, they’ve now reverted back to their old ways and are hauling people off to the gulag for simply saving memes. That’s right, SAVING memes and not even creating them. Daniil Markin, a 19-year-old film student from Barnaul, the main city in Russia’s Altai region is now standing trial for saving several memes mocking Christianity to social media platform VKontake (VK). One day last year, anti-extremism police forced their way into Markin’s apartment with a search warrant, seized his electronic devices and whisked him away for interrogation. Officials advised him to come clean in order to receive a light sentence, however that looks pretty damn unlikely. They made him go through almost 1,500 pictures and explain why he had the images, which you can imagine, would be pretty damn embarrassing if it was your parents let alone Russian police. Markin was then placed on a financial watch list, which meant he wasn’t able to use his bank account anymore. Now, nearly a year later the case is finally moving to trial but it’s not clear how fucked old mate might be. “I confessed to having saved those [memes], but I didn’t mean to offend anyone,” Tip for any edgy meme lords out there: stay far away from mother Russia. Four Tet drops are rare, so we jump on what we get when we can get it. This time the goodness comes in the form of a live album and honestly, Kieran Hebden (Four Tet) spoils us. The 17 track live album recorded at Funkhaus Berlin spans for about two hours and explores live edits of some of his classic tracks, including a mammoth 26 minute rendition of Morning Side. The thing about Four Tet is that his music spans genres, and this live show offering just makes you forget that there’s division in music. It guides you into a world and helps you lose yourself in sonic landscapes. Check it out below, let it flow through you and honestly at less than $10 it’s probably worth a cop through his Bandcamp!
