  1. Last year’s MTV Video Music Awards were the lowest-viewed in the network’s history — that was, until this year’s ratings came in. According to a report from Variety, the 2018 VMAs saw a slight decline, down 8% from last year with 5.234 million across 11 networks. However, compared to other awards shows, MTV suffered far less of a ratings drop than other programs including Grammys and the Academy Awards. The VMAs also made up for the lack of viewership with online streaming. Digital views were way up, according to internal numbers provided by MTV — 141.6 million digital streams make the recent awards show the most-streamed in Viacom history. Social engagement was up 46%, also according to MTV. Though viewership was down, the broadcast was no less star-studded than usual. The ceremony boasted live performances from Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott, Aerosmith, and Jennifer Lopez, while Camila Cabello, Post Malone, The Carters and more took home awards for their outstanding music videos. Even Madonna showed up. See the full list of winners here. Source: Variety This article was first published on Your EDM. Source: 2018 MTV Video Music Awards: Ratings Down, Digital Streaming Up Source
  2. Poppy just hit us with her new track featuring Diplo and while our imaginations ran wild with what this might sound like — the answer is, well, it sounds a lot like Poppy. Diplo played a hand in writing, producing, and performing “Time Is Up,” but you’d never know without seeing the list of credits. The producer’s sound is almost completely camouflaged as he submits to the singer’s cyber-driven electropop vibe, which only proves his ability to master any genre he so desires. Poppy’s artistry has been championed by Diplo and his team. Her entire 2017 album, Poppy.Computer, was housed by his own label. “Time Is Up” is out now, also available via Mad Decent. Witness Poppy’s delightful weirdness in the official music video and get the track for your collection at the link below. Poppy – Time Is Up (feat. 3. Carmada just put out a round of remixes for their banger Ready For It ft. Tribes and we’ve been blessed with premiering the best one! Merchant is a name you might not be super familiar with yet but let us acquaint you, because it’s one you’ll want to know. Merchant’s remix of Ready For It is complete with heaving, rolling bass drops, and a futuristic sound that takes from future bass and electronica. It keeps the build up largely untouched, letting the vocals do the work, which fold into what becomes a very dark take on the original. Merchant’s sound is bold, dark and full of bass and with his EP dropped just a bit ago, we’re sure there’s plenty more good to be heard from the largely unknown producer. Check out his take on Carmada’s Ready For It below and and cop the free download. You can check out the rest of the remixes here and tell us what you think, is Merchant one to watch? Source
  4. Spinnin’ Records may have just revealed David Guetta‘s new alias with the release of “Overtone.” The track was released under the unfamiliar name Jack Back, coincidentally the same name as David Guetta’s record label. Not only that, but Guetta is the only known figure to publicly debut the track. He played the exclusive ID at Ultra Europe this year, according to EDMTunes. But the artist doesn’t appear to be too concerned with hiding his connection to the alias. Jack Back’s new Instagram profile is followed by only a handful of accounts and two of those are Guetta’s press manager, José Woldring, and Pierre George Kieffer, a Warner Music France representative. Like we’ve seen with other popular artists, debuting a new alias is a great way for artists to rebrand and release music that appeals to a fan base outside their norm. For example, Boys Noize’s recent project ELAX that hasn’t reached mainstream audiences quite yet. It’s a perfect way for large artists to experiment with new sounds without being constrained by the criticism and expectations that follow such success. There is no solid proof that Guetta is behind the alias Jack Back; but regardless, the track was noticed by Guetta and a few people close to him so we must admit the correlation is there. Check out “Overtone” by Jack Back below and let us know what you think. Photo Via Rukes.com This article was first published on Your EDM. 8. On August 12th, Sub-Radio took on their home district with a killer show at the DC venue Songbyrd in Adams Morgan Hailing from Northen Virginia in the suburbs of bustling Washington DC, this alt-rock sextet has re-affirmed that there really is strength in numbers. Consisting of Adam Bradley (lead vocals), Michael Chinen (guitar/keys/backing vocals), Matt Prodanovich (guitar/backing vocals), John Fengya (keys/guitar/backing vocals ), Michael Pereira (drums/backing vocals), and Barry Siford (bass), their upbeat sound and powerful dynamic lends to a captivating live show experience. After a summer of Virginia touring, Sub-Radio was able to secure a slot at Songbyrd, a trendy venue in DC’s hip neighborhood Adam’s Morgan, last Sunday night. The venue screams good vibes, a momentum Sub-Radio was able to capitalize on during their set. Part venue, part bar, part coffee and vinyl shop, Songbyrd was far from lacking in atmosphere, which made it easy for me to get comfy with the Sub-Radio guys and chat before their set. Their energy was contagious as my excitement almost began to match their’s throughout our conversation. It was hard to ignore how friendly and easy they were to talk to. It was clear they were all very close, and they made it very easy for me to feel comfortable. It was my most conversational, relaxed yet interesting interview to date. There is an amazing personality behind their music, and it is a privilege to serve as a medium and voice to share that. The most important thing to know about this band is that their relationship is everything. After gradually forming in high school, ten years later they have become the show stoppers they are today. They were friends who became colleagues, maintaining a level of professionalism and a strong work ethic by sharing a collective goal in making music (a goal they have truly achieved). On their friendship, vocalist Adam Bradley said it simply “I don’t know how people do it other ways.” He elaborated that in terms of their creative process, their basis of a strong friendship has allowed for a mutual respect that can withstand any disagreement or argument. Drummer Michael Pereira added that “it allows us to be more safely creative and honest” and guitarist Matt Prodanovich added that it’s just so much easier being able to really know his bandmate’s tendencies and perceptions on that deeper level that a friendship allows when it comes to making music. Their focus on that strong bond is so integral to their band that after the release of their EP Headfirst they took personality assessments (administered by Pereira’s mother!) to learn more about what kind of individuals they were in order to increase their productivity and really understand how each member works with each other. The key to a really successful band dynamic, though, is to “treat it like a job” said Bradley. Yes, Sub-Radio is a job first, but it is an honest reflection of their friendship in a close second place. Their presence as a band is a clear indication of that, evoking that friendly and welcoming energy in every moment of their live show. Guitarist Mike Chinen put it plainly that his favorite thing about performing was “playing the music you love with the people you love.” Their comradery on stage quickly creates a fun environment for their audience, something they strive for. “[The live show] is a party atmosphere, but there are lots of parties, so we want it to be fun and exuberant but also welcoming,” said Bradley on the overall experience of their performance. “Its a party without a list at the door,” he added, and their Songbyrd performance was no exception. They kicked off the show with a high energy that maintained throughout the night, playing fan favorites from their first album and their recent EP Headfirst. It was amazing to see a crowd so engaged from the very start, singing along to each song. Being in that audience I felt instantly connected, there was a mutual love in the air and we were all riding the same musical high. Their stage presence was unmatched, as they all played together in a way that made you feel like you were up on stage with them in the most engaging and alluring sense. You could really tell they were having the time of their lives up on stage, and it was a great energy that everyone could feed off of. Spirits were high and plenty, as Bradley transitioned from his usual setlist to some unexpected but pleasantly surprising covers including Fall Out Boy’s “Sugar We’re Going Down,” Panic! at the Disco’s “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” and Earth Wind and Fire’s “September.” Great choices to keep the vibes better than ever. All in all, Sub-Radio put on one of my favorite shows to date. They created such a positive and memorable space by simply being themselves and putting forward great energy that their audience was more than willing to project back. It was an unforgettable experience, to say the least. After ten years of long hard work, this is just the start of Sub-Radio and they seem to have a very promising future ahead of them. Constantly working on new stuff, it’s safe to say we can be expecting new music real soon. Their goals for the upcoming year include more live shows (yay!), more festivals, and definitely (certainly) a ton of more music. Some parting words from the band to our readers include some advice for anyone young and trying to make it big in the music world: “Sometimes this takes a long time so just be patient, start early and work hard, if you don’t see the return immediately man keep working – Because if you’re good, and you believe in it and you set your self to a high standard then people are gonna recognize that and appreciate that and you’re gonna find success” – Michael Pereira Keep up with Sub-Radio by following them on Instagram, Twitter, and Spotify! 9. After a one year hiatus, legendary DJ, producer, label boss, live musician and event curator Damian Lazarus will once again bring his esoteric party, Day Zero, to the jungles of Tulum, Mexico. Having first held the event on the final day of the Mayan calendar, December 21, 2012, Day Zero has come to represent a turning point in the world of dance music; a new beginning of sorts. Each iteration of the event launches the new year with a stellar lineup of talent. In the past stalwart selectors including Dixon, Thievery Corporation, Fur Coat, and Mathew Jonson have made appearances, but the magic of Day Zero goes much further than a lineup. The jungle setting offers a unique type of energy which reminds attendees that these gatherings have roots in the beginnings of human kind. Civilizations as ancient as the Mayans would come together and dance long into the night, celebrating the world’s natural splendor. As dance music events become synonymous with commercialization, Damian Lazarus invites party-goers from around the world to experience that same communal spirit through Day Zero. Day Zero 2019 will take place in Dos Osos, Tulum on January 11. Tickets of trust will be on sale September 5th, with general on-sale following the lineup announcement shortly after. 10. Earlier this month, Dave Grohl revealed Play, a mini-documentary showcasing his epic, 23-minute, one-man instrumental recording. The project was created to celebrate “the rewards and challenges of dedicating ones life to playing and mastering a musical instrument.” In a statement, the Foo Fighters frontman further explained how he was inspired by seeing his own children exploring the world of musical instruments. “Watching my kids start to play music and learn to sing or play drums, it brings me back to the time when I was their age listening to albums, learning from listening… and when I take my kids to the place where they take their lessons, I see these rooms full of children that are really pushing themselves to figure this out.” It turns out that Grohl and his Play have successfully pushed one particular baby named Charlie to try his hand at the drums as well. “He is 17 months old and our little dude Charlie would rather rock out to this incredible song than be watching In the Night Garden or Paw Patrol,” the tot’s father wrote on Twitter in response to the band. He included a video in which Charlie could be seen slamming down on his toy kit while watching Grohl rock out on TV, a young rock star in the making. The Foo Fighters leader, having seen the adorable clip, responded by cheering on the future prodigy. “Nice work Charlie!!” Grohl said, “Go get em.” Nice work Charlie!! Go get em! https://t.co/MJzyKcuaNJ — Foo Fighters (@foofighters) August 21, 2018 He is 17 months old and our little dude Charlie would rather rock out to this incredible song than be watching In the Night Garden or Paw Patrol pic.twitter.com/L1cOvGIeJX — Jon Drew (@JonDDrew) August 14, 2018 Play can be revisited below. 12. Disclosure have dropped three tracks in the past 72 hours, including this new ’80s-inspired cut called “Love Can Be So Hard.” Compared to the poppier tracks found on their sophomore album Caracal, these new singles seem to be looking back toward their roots in the 1950-80s, putting their spins on some serious classics. “We’re taking you on a throwback 80’s vibe with this one… inspired by our love of 80’s pop artists like Alexander O’Neil and Luther Vandross, we chopped and flipped this old classic by Princess on its head! – Disclosure “Love Can Be So Hard” is characterized by customary ’80s synths and melodies with vocal chops and a sultry beat that oozes class and culture. 13. Not many shows can survive the loss of one of their major characters. For Mac, Sweet Dee, and the rest of the Gang from FXX’s long-running sitcom It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, it’s just another day at Paddy’s Pub. Next month, the Gang returns to TV screens for a 13th season filled with more misanthropy than you can shake a rat stick at. FXX has today dropped a trailer to give us a taste of what a largely Dennis-less season will look like. Granted, Rob McElhenney stated earlier this month that Glenn Howerton will, in fact, appear in a “majority” of this season’s episodes, but the trailer certainly seems committed to the idea that everyone’s favorite sociopath is gone for good. (Read: It’s Always Sunny Leaves a Gang of Four in Philadelphia) Amongst the glimpses of debauchery and mayhem we get in the trailer, we see a despondent Mac get a sex doll to find something “Dennis-shaped to fill [his] hole,” Charlie bust through an apartment door in full Kramer garb, and the return of beloved guest characters like Artemis, the Waitress, and Rickety Cricket. Mindy Kaling also pops up, confirming the guest spot she hinted at back in June. Despite the cast shakeup Howerton’s departure has (seemingly) created, the Gang seem to be leaping into their latest season without missing a step. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia returns to FXX on September 15th. Watch the trailer below. Source
  14. Bass music fans – the second annual Lost Lands Festival is less than 30 days away! Last year, Lost Lands debuted for the first time and quickly became a fan favorite festival. One of the main reasons it was such a success is because Jeff Abel, better known as Excision, and his team put a lot of effort into the making of it. Due to the success of Lost Lands 2017, Excision began to plan for 2018 as soon as the 2017 festival had ended. He and his team have worked relentlessly to ensure fans have an even better experience this year. In his Headbanger Facebook group page he asked for feedback, questions, concerns and more to make Lost Lands 2018 as great as possible. Everything from the lineup to selecting food vendors, Excision paid attention to all fan feedback and has been extremely involved in every detail. Lost Lands 2018 will have two full size main stages this year and 1,000,000 watts of bass brought to you by PK Sound equipment. That is A LOT of bass, don’t forget to bring your earplugs! Last year, volcanoes on the stage shot fire as well as tons of lasers, pyrotechnics, and even giant dinosaurs made an appearance on the festival grounds. You can definitely expect even better production and three times more dinosaurs this year. After the festival is over there will be Sound Camps that will be going off throughout the night. There are six uniquely themed Sound Camps, special guest appearances, and surprise b2b sets by Lost Lands artists. The Sound Camp has a whole dedicated campground area where you will be transported to a new world. Each stage at the Sound Camps will feature its own unique, intimate theme design unlike anything else on the festival grounds. Other new changes this year include, expanded car camping spots – 50 sq ft. bigger, early entry pre-party inside festival grounds with surprise b2b sets Thursday night, quiet camping, themed Sound Camps, and the 1,000,000 watts of bass. All of this was made possible thanks to the fan feedback that was taken into consideration. Lastly, I don’t even have to say how stacked this years lineup is with multiple performances by Excision all weekend long and other bass artists include Flux Pavilion, Illenium, Nero, Rezz, and much more. Last year, I watched the festivities through the livestream at CouchLands, where I watched and headbanged all weekend from my couch at home. This year I am so excited to go to Lost Lands and experience it for real. Are you going this year? Let me know! Still thinking about it? Act quickly, GA tickets and camping is 75% sold out. You can get the remaining tickets HERE. See you soon, Headbangers! The post Why Lost Lands 2018 Is Not To Be Missed appeared first on EDM Maniac. Source
  15. Almost half a century after it was recorded, a lost duet between ’70s siren Carly Simon and The Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger has been unearthed. A slow love ballad allegedly called “Fragile”, the track was previously thought lost to the sands of time. However, the The Associated Press reports that Stones collector Matt Lee has re-discovered the song, recorded in 1972, on a tape in his collection. Funny enough, that’s the same year Jagger sang un-credited backup vocals on Simon’s hit song “You’re So Vain” (and was rumored to be its subject, despite vociferous denials). The lost duet has been the subject of much speculation in Stones fan circles over the years. While the song has been largely missing for more than 45 years, hardcore Stones followers may recognize a snippet of it from a scene in the 1972 Stones documentary Cocksucker Blues (itself a difficult film to find, given its court-mandated restrictions on screenings). Perhaps most recently, Simon obliquely referred to it in a 2016 interview with Rolling Stone magazine. There, she confirmed the existence of the song, lamenting that the recording had been lost for decades. She even sang a line of the lyrics: “Funny, funny, funny, funny, funny/ How love can make you cry.” According to the AP, the line may actually be “change” and not “cry” on the recording. The track appears to be simply Simon and Jagger sitting at a piano, with him singing most of the vocals and her adding harmonies. Lee will not divulge the means by which he recovered the track, but confirmed that he sent a digital copy to Rolling Stone magazine, on the promise that it would be delivered it to Simon. “I’m not doing it for the money. I’m a collector,” Lee said of his altruistic motivations for the track. “My motive for sending it to Rolling Stone was to pass it to Carly.” Whether this musical artifact will be released to fans or not remains unknown; in the meantime, we can just be glad that another rock ‘n roll artifact has been preserved. 16. The Dutch duo DROELOE — real names Vincent Rooijers & Hein Hamers — have just dropped their sophomore EP, The Choices We Face, via San Holo’s creative outfit, bitbird. Following the success of their debut EP, A Moment In Time, which has received over 25 million streams on Spotify, DROELOE is hungry for success on their newest project. photo credit DROELOE The driving force behind much of DROELOE’s accomplishment can be accredited to their incredibly unique sound. Their music tends to incorporate beautiful piano harmonies, harsh trap drums, intricate percussion elements and catchy synth melodies. Every song they release takes the listener on a thoughtful and complex musical journey- The Choices We Face is no exception. The Choices We Face by DROELOE The most notable tracks off this project are “Taking Flight”, “Looking Back”, and “Weird Machine”. “Taking Flight” features the classic DROELOE trap sound we know and love. It begins with a eerie piano melody and then slowly transforms into an explosive ballad. Similar to “Taking Flight”, “Looking Back” is another fantastic trap/future bass inspired banger. Now onto my favorite track of the entire EP: “Weird Machine”. With the help of the amazing vocal talent Nevve, this song pushes the boundaries of electronic music. Vibrant, bubbly synths contrast with a granular bass to produce a one-of-a-kind sound on “Weird Machine.” Once you get a chance, take a listen to DROELOE’s newest EP, The Choices We Face. You will not be disappointed. Also be sure to look out for more quality releases from the bitbird label in the future. 17. Mastodon singer-guitarist Brent Hinds tends to be a a bit of a goofball in interviews, playing fast and loose with the truth about his life and career. But if his recent chat with the podcast Let There Be Talk is to be believed, the rocker is very interested in making some country music with his Mastodon bandmates. Hinds himself has already gone country, playing with the country-rock collective West End Motel. However, getting the other Mastodon members to go country may be a tough task. In a conversation with host Dean Delray (listen below), Hinds says that he’d love a future Mastodon album to be a full-on country record. “I would love to dress up like a cowboy and play fancy big hollow body guitars,” Hinds says. As the Mastodon growler says, he’s not sure his band’s fan base would be cool with such a dramatic tonal shift, but then again, that’s not his first concern. “I’m not sure how much our audience would enjoy it, but that’s not something that we’re really trying to put too many thoughts into. Because we want to create a discography that nobody else has done and touch all these genre.” He adds that drummer Brann Dailor has the talents to branch out into country. “Everyone knows that we can do heavy metal, everyone knows that Brann can play the double bass. That’s why I want to show people that Brann can also not play the double bass. He’s just a very good artist and a musician.” The issue, Hinds adds, is convincing Dailor to dabble in country music. “He’s not a very big country fan. He hasn’t learned that way but I know he has come from those roots. His grandmother and grandfather were in a country band and actually knew [country music legend] Ernest Tubb personally.” It remains to be seen where Mastodon will go with their sound on future releases. In his recent interview with Heavy Consequence, Dailor told us that the band is planning on taking some time early next year to start hashing out ideas for the follow-up to their 2017 release, Emperor of Sand. 18. Last month, it was announced that a limited edition LP of Ryan Elder’s original Rick and Morty score would be available at Adult Swim’s inaugural festival in Los Angeles this October. Now, fans of the show have an even better reason to attend the event, as organizers have now announced “The Rick and Morty Musical Ricksperience,” a live concert featuring a 37-piece orchestra and special guests. According to a press release, Elder and the gang will “bring your favorite Rick and Morty songs to life in melodic harmony in sync with an episode.” It would be reasonable to expect Chad Van Gaalen and Chaos Chaos among the guests, as both are on the lineup in addition to being featured on the album. Here’s hoping for an orchestral rendition of “Get Schwifty”; that song was a jam. Other acts at the festival include Run the Jewels, Neko Case, and Flying Lotus, as well as comedians Hannibal Buress and Jo Firestone. Tim Heidecker and Gregg Turkington’s On Cinema will also be on hand. And for those looking for a Meeseeks to take some points off their short game, there will also be a Rick and Morty-themed mini-golf course. Festivities unfold on October 6th and 7th at the Row DTLA in downtown LA. Find the most recent lineup poster below. Source
  19. John Lithgow can play one helluva villain. Just look at him in any number of Brian De Palma movies, or even his monstrous turn in Dexter’s fourth season. Now, however, the acclaimed actor will play his most vile character yet, as Variety reports he’s been cast as former Fox News chief/rabid sexual harasser Roger Ailes. Director Jay Roach (Trumbo) will helm Annapurna Pictures’ as-yet-unnamed film, which was written by Oscar-winning screenwriter Charles Randolph (The Big Short). Charlize Theron and Nicole Kidman will co-star, playing Fox News vets Megyn Kelly and Gretchen Carlson, respectively. Both women were key in exposing the pervasive culture of sexual harassment at Fox News, which forms the spine of the Roach and Randolph’s story. Margot Robbie is also set to star in the movie as “a fictional Fox News associate producer.” After Carlson sued him for harassment in July of 2016, Ailes stepped down from his role as Chairman and CEO of Fox News. Many more allegations of misconduct followed his departure. He passed away roughly a year later at the age of 77. As Variety notes, Ailes’ story will also appear in Showtime’s adaptation of Gabriel Sherman’s The Loudest Voice In the Room. Russell Crowe will step into the Ailes’ formidable loafers for that production. Lithgow, meanwhile, is still basking in the Emmy he won for his work as Winston Churchill on Netflix’s The Crown, and he’ll soon show his range as wizened old-timer Judd Crandall in a new adaptation of Stephen King’s Pet Sematary. 20. A report in the New York Times earlier this week uncovered a secret hush payment made to former child actor, Jimmy Bennett, who had accused his former co-star, Asia Argento, of sexually assaulting him in 2013, when he was 17 years old. In a subsequent statement, Argento called the New York Times story “absolutely false” and denied ever having a sexual relationship with Bennett. She accused Bennett of extortion and said that her late boyfriend, Anthony Bourdain, himself sent the hush payment to avoid “possible negative publicity.” Now, however, TMZ has unearthed leaked text messages and images that purportedly contradict Argento’s statement. One of the images, seen above, shows Argento and Bennett in bed, apparently topless. Sources told TMZ the image is one of four photos taken by Bennett after the two had sex at the Marina del Rey Ritz-Carlton back in 2013. Bennett, now 22, was 17 at the time; the age of consent in California is 18. While the image doesn’t expressly show anything illegal, leaked text messages between Argento and an unidentified friend may be more damaging, as she flat out admitted to having sex with Bennett. “The horny kid jumped me,” Argento said in one text. When her friend asked if it was an incident of rape or “attempted sexual action,” Argento replied back, “I had sex with him it felt weird. I didn’t know he was a minor until the shakedown letter.” The unidentified associate later asked Argento how she didn’t know her co-star’s age, but couched the question by saying the age of consent in many countries is actually 16. “When I was 17 I was with a 33 year old man for years,” Argento offered. “I had just turned 17.” Argento also sent her friend a picture of what is apparently a note Bennett left on the night in question. On Ritz-Carlton stationary, he wrote, “Asia, I love you with all my heart. So glad we met again and I’m so glad your in my life. Jimmy.” Argento told her friend, “He wrote me this afterwards and kept sending me unsolicited nudes all these years up until 2 weeks before the attorneys letter.” She added, “It wasn’t raped [sic] but I was frozen. He was on top of me. After, he told me I had been his sexual fantasy since was 12.” All the texts and images — which Consequence of Sound is unable to independently verify — can be seen below. In light of the accusations and the media storm surrounding them, Argento has pulled out of her the Netherlands’ Le Guess Who? Festival, for which she had been a co-curator. She had already chosen some of the acts set to perform November 8th-10th in Utrecht, The Netherlands, including The Breeders, Lydia Lunch, Psychic Ills, and Richard Fearless. Festival organizers issued the following statement: “Due to the volatile nature of the accusations surrounding Ms. Argento, she has chosen to withdraw from her curatorship of this year’s edition, while these issues remain open. Le Guess Who? supports her decision, as we consider it our responsibility to represent, to the best of our ability, the interests and integrity of all artists involved with our organization, and we strive to do this with sensitivity and respect. Le Guess Who? still supports all curated artists and their artistic output, and intends to keep all these artists involved within the general program for the 2018 edition.” Argento has been one of the leaders of the #MeToo movement and was one of the first to come forward with accusations against Harvey Weinstein in October 2017. The following month, Bennett sent her a notice laying out his intentions to file suit. He originally sought $3.5 million in damages for “the intentional infliction of emotional distress, lost wages, assault and battery,” but the two settled out of court for $380,000. Bennett also had to give up copyright of an intimate photo he took with Argento in bed, though it’s unclear if this is the same image TMZ leaked today. On Monday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department opened an investigation into the allegations against Argento. Source
  21. Collaborations can start in a variety of ways. Between producers, it usually goes down in the DMs. We’ve also seen how someone like Chris James can be featured by deadmau5 via a Twitter reply (“The Veldt”). It seems that inspiration can also just as easily come from discovering someone’s talent on YouTube – at some point, Martin Garrix saw the vocal talents of street performer Mike Yung and now the two have a song together. Mike Yung was a street performer in New York’s subway, also known as a busker, who went viral thanks to a video uploaded to YouTube. His virality and fame landed him on America’s Got Talent in 2017 where he made it through to the semi-finals. Now, his talent has landed him a collaboration with the #1 DJ in the world, Martin Garrix. The collaboration was revealed during a recent interview. Martin said of him, “Mike is an amazing singer. I saw videos of him singing in the subway of New York and fell in love with his voice. His story is just incredible. “He has been singing in the subway for 38 years. I invited him to Amsterdam, we had an amazing week, wrote music on the boat w/ guitar. That’s the song which is releasing next. It’s a very emotional story, like a roller coaster journey for him. We’re excited to release the song!” So while fans have been desperately waiting for his collaborations with Justin Mylo and Dyro, we’re getting this one next! 22. If there’s anything we’ve learned over the last few months, it’s that no two Liam Gallagher concerts are ever the same. Sometimes that means a guy in the crowd rocks out with his cock out, Gallagher gets fish thrown at him, or perhaps a couple of Definitely, Maybe rarities are dusted off for the first time in forever. At Gallagher’s homecoming Manchester show over the weekend, his set featured more of that unpredictable magic. During his performance of “Wonderwall”, a group of audience members banded together to help one fan in a wheelchair crowd surf in order to get a better glimpse of the Oasis rocker. “Obviously, there was the disabled area, but there were 15 of us and I am the only one in a wheelchair”, the fan, Michael Reynolds, recounted to the Manchester Evening News (via NME). “But I couldn’t see, I ended up just listening to it. My mates had the idea of lifting me up. Suddenly, there were 20 lads all helping. Everyone was loving it.” Reynolds, who is 30, had become confined to a wheelchair following a motocross accident. This was the incredible moment a man in a wheelchair was lifted up above the crowds for #Wonderwall at @liamgallagher's gig on Saturday night! pic.twitter.com/xohvD2W1It — Hits Radio (@hitsradiouk) August 22, 2018 Nothing sums up Liam Gallagher at the cricket ground more than a wheelchair user crowd surfing. pic.twitter.com/rSgkqqNtOO — JB x (@What_Jack_Said) August 19, 2018 Gallagher was well aware of the heartwarming moment, later tweeting: “Respect to the lads at my concert for giving Michael Reynolds the best view in the house BIBLICAL BEHAVIOUR.” Respect to the lads at my concert for giving Michael Reynolds the best view in the house BIBLICAL BEHAVIOUR as you were LG x — Liam Gallagher (@liamgallagher) August 22, 2018 I want to thank everyone who made the Manchester gig BIBLICAL.
