  1. There may be some time over the next 72 hours or so where the forum will be unavailable. This is due to a major planned upgrade. Chat will still be accessible, though and you can access it here: http://chat.ausdjforums.com:9090/?chann ... ums&uio=d4 Any issues let me know in here, on chat or by phone. Stay tuned..
  2. Good stuff
  3. We'll have a chat in chat about it when we both get a min.
  4. Everyone has stuff going on in their lives so don't apologise if ADJF has to take a back seat some of the time. Taking care of yourself and your life is first and foremost.
  5. Mate thanks so much, massively appreciated. Generosity like that keeps this place alive. I'll be sending you a care package for xmas no matter what.
  6. Nope. The genres fit in with The Music section of the forum (trap isn't in this section)
  7. Ok lads. I've been researching and chatting with nv for most of this year, and it's time ADJF got a proper rebuild. I'm going to look at launching a brand new platform for the forum in time for the new year. This new platform will mean better mobile device usability, better functioning forum and a whole bunch of extras (like user reputation which I know everyone loved). So I'm looking to do a donations drive to cover the new software costs plus hosting for another year. Whatever gaps in costs we have I'll have to cover out of my pocket (aka ANZ will cover the bill from my credit card) but anything you can spare towards the costs will help a fuckload. Every cent you send goes directly back into ADJF. The first 3 peeps to donate over $50 I'll mail out an ADJF Lanyard and a bunch of stickers. So pls gise, give what you can and pepper for a huge year. To donate, click the Donate button on the top button menu and send through PayPal If you can't afford to send a few $ through, click the ads on ADJF or this site: http://www.belikebilzerian.com/
  8. So next year I really want to get things pushed for ADJF. It's starting to get too hard for me to keep up, so ideally I'm looking for someone to help me manage the social media marketing. Shit isn't hard, but you need to be able to pump stuff out a lot, source material (articles, memes etc) and know how to schedule posts and good commenting procedures to maximise spread. Also, the article posting team is basically dead. We should do something about that. Anyone keen? No half-yes's pls this is sers
  9. HAHA YIS [22] Also, bonus points if you sneak in Xmas carols without trainwrecking [22] LOL [22] challenge accepted
  10. So we decided to make this fit in better with the forum sections, to use the headings from The Music. So anything that fits under that heading and category and everything else listed there, feel free to mix it. That includes: Electro, Bangers, Glitch, Melb Bounce, Fidget, Breaks, Bigroom etc. * Must post tracklists. * Minimum of 1 hour in length. * Use as many tracks as you want, but they have to somehow be connected to the Chillout genre. * All need to be uploaded by end of December. * Use our intro sting in your mix: https://soundcloud.com/ausdjforums/adjf-intro-sting Go 4 it lads. ps. If you're not already a member of the @ausdjforums Soundcloud (Pro Unlimited) account, post in here. Also, bonus points if you sneak in Xmas carols without trainwrecking
  11. Moving this thread to buy/sell. Probably worth asking your question in it's own thread.
  12. lol just noticed this today
  13. it's not about comparing it to a porsche it's about using sticks on upside down kitchen pots instead of a drum kit A thousand bucks you'll want to upgrade within a year if you go through with what you want there's a reason a shitload of DJs here are trying to tell you this But always your call. gl w/ your search
  14. yeah m8 we all know from this year
  15. holy fucking lol at the word replace on this thread
  16. Time to start the confirmed list: * Cupe Add your name and pass it on
  17. Yeah I was pretty sure there was a thread for this once before too, but didn't search then gave up trying to find
  18. Probs worth a new thread and entirely new write up
  19. It depends on what sort of tracks you're using. Proper tracks (from Firepower Recs for example (datsik etc)) will have decent intro/outro bars of maybe 16 beats (like electro and house tunes) that can help with beatmixing into the next tune The problem with dubstep is that every single cunt in the world wanted to produce it so there is a plethora of poorly made and shit tracks that make mixing not so easy. Beatmatching is the same with all music, it's just a matter of learning from the ear and having tracks that work well together to let it happen. If all else fails, backspin + hammer the fader over lolz
  20. If you're rapping originals that you intend to release it might be worth it (and depends who owns the beat you're rapping over and whatever agreement exists there)
  21. Moved this to DJ HQ cause it's relevant
  22. That's not really the point You don't buy a plastic guitar from toys-r-us if you want to play guitar when you're bored, you at least get a decent one The worst situation is you actually enjoy DJing and want to upgrade your gear and finally get around to buying something decent (after having spent $500 on a piece of shit) and end up spending way more than if you just held out and bought something good in the first place It's your call, but everyone here answering has either done what I just said or knew better (or are in the process of saving up again to upgrade whatever they've currently outgrown)
  23. I seriously suggest saving up more and getting something better. Even at an entry point. For $500 you're going to get junk and it makes a difference
