  1. epic tracklist though
  2. sup welcome.
  3. im hoping he shows up and maybe does a quick set at the chromeo gig the night before though he may have dates in another state that day. be awesome if he plays along side chromeo like he use to when he first started as a youngin. though i dont think they were called chromeo then
  4. hey trashbags are holding a a-trak sideshow at oxford art factory on 8 jan. with some of their locals.
  5. ha ha ive just tried to read what slip mode was on the pioneer site and the skratchworx site and stll dont understand it. can someone explain it in english...
  6. okay i dont know any of these products personally, but it looks like an awesome price (maybe even too good to be true), whihc i think seems to be the SA market. anywho 2 x American Audio DTI-1.8. Not as good as their super OEM model, but has same specs as a techie (i.e. 1.8Kg torque, quartz lock, etc.) heres some info (which some is in german but just babel it). maybe wazza or tubby know a bit more bout em. http://www.new-line.nl/nl/draaitafels/a ... tm#details and the mixer is a QD5 which is discontinued but the MKII version sells for $400 which is double the Buy now http://www.lightsounds.com.au/american_ ... 0_prd1.htm anywhos here is the listing http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... K:MEWAX:IT
  7. no one has really said much about the stantons so dont know. i have used the RMP1's however it is the only DJ CD player i have used. it seemed pretty good. has a loop and sample function, plays mp3's and has scratch mode. i have played with the RMX-30 which is basically the same as the RMX-20 but with 3 channels and it is a very good mixer and has a nice sound especially for that price (in fact id say it had a nice sound period. as do all other reloop mixers i have ever heard). id say if you were adverse to getting second hand then yeah the Reloop pack is a good kit. it wont prepare you to play on pioneers but it will prepare you for learning to dj using cd players. my nephew got lucky that when he bought his they were out of RMX20's and they gave him the RMX30 for the same price!! there are some awesome priced CDJ800's going on ebay (check Buy & Sell thread ) and they come in road cases, but in Syd . dont know what courier would be like. or hit up the member hearts who i believe is looking to unload CDJ 200's. hearts??
  8. day left so im sure these will rocket up but could be a steal if you in Brissy due to the age. 2 MKII's, a numark DMX06 and some vinyl. Decks come loaded and with dust covers, manufactued 2004 (according to seller). http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... K:MEWAX:IT
  9. hi one day to go. another annoying 2 sale thang. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... K:MEWAX:IT http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... K:MEWAX:IT dude also has a Xone 62 on offer. dont know if its any good or cheap, its discontinued model http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Allen-Heath-XONE ... 35ae6db1ef
  10. lloyd i am assuming that you will still need to beatgrid all your tracks. im pretty sure traktor hasnt advanced itself that much.
  11. okay the S4 is a midi controller that can be used to control software. out if the box it comes with traktor. which will allow you to play your digital music and also allow you to mix and use effects while mixing, all using the one machine. advantages are its reasonably portable as all youll need is your controller and your computer (assumig your computer is portable). you can choose to manually beat match using pitch controls or you can beatgrid all your tacks (a manual process google beatgrid and traktor) which will allow you to use the sync function. the cdj200s are cd players. they too will allow you to play all your digital files however you will need to first burn them onto a disc which isnt really that much of a hassle and sometimes easier than going thru 6000 songs on a screen. in order to mix you will need a seperate mixer which allows you to control faders, eqs and possibly effects depending on what you get. you will only uave the option to beatmatch manually by using the pitch control on the cdjs.
  12. man i get really tired of reading about the bitching that goes on about the 350s beatlock. well maybe cdj's with their cue button and loop buttons should never have been invented, allowed way too many cheaters into the game. or mixers with cross faders. and direct drive motor turntables. yeah everything should be such that everyone does it like the very first dj's and not cheat with technology!! pfffft EDIT and thats not at you gandy just the whole concept in general its stupid.
  13. in all fairness a lot of people use dvs and the OP did already mention a controller. you notice in a lot of beginner setup questions when we propose dvs we say assuming you have a computer. which i can only assume why the OP has mentioned it. just like he already me tioned the stereo hence no need to suggest speakers/monitors
  14. yeah cool will hit at ya if i have any q's. yeah i assume he was using it for recording guitar and banging out beats with his electroc drum kit. i just remembered at the end of this roc raida dvd i got he plugs a turnie into his sound card and starts creating beats on pro tools by "drumming" using the turntables and creating loops from sampling little cuts. now i just have to find that dvd amongst my shit
  15. you could get cdj 200s a mixer and prob a roadcase for that much. which state ya at? check ebay or i usually post some good stuff up in buy and sell. since you going cdjs you dont need yer laptop or a dvs to begin with
  16. cool. well i might grab it off him to see if i can be assed or be good enuff to stick w the production thang. cuz i know it aint easy. and at least it means i dont need to spend anything for now. wonder what else i can score he he . he had a good little studio going. full kit drums, electric drum kit, a les paul replica, that midi keyboard and who knows what else.
  17. heyup. as i have mentioned on here i was thanking of getting FL studio to mess about it. i know its not rated in the dance world, but ive seen how 9th Wonder uses it to sample an entire track from vinyl. and then chop it up to make his own song. and then add other elements (horns, keys, drums which he had sampled off other vinyls). so i thought its alright. for now i dont think ill be making my own songs from scratch just re-edits and remixes (dont think im creative enuff to start from scratch). anywho, was over my lil bro's who's moved back to syd after living in melbourne and he has some shyte in boxes which he doesnt think he'll unpack at his new place (plus his got a new baby so wont lkely get to use much anymore). which included an m-box with Pro Tools and possibly a midi keyboard. now ive searched the internets, i went to a book store and read a handful of pro tool books, and then you tubed, and still not sure i understand. 1. can i sample an entire track in pro tools and then remix it, maybe add some new sounds which are other samples tweaked/ filtered/ effected? or is pro tools really just a virtual mixing desk in the studio sense of mixing (you know levels and shyte..). OR as some places are saying if you want to make beats get reason or live or FL and then bring it into Pro Tools to bring it all together. is that right?? OR should i just forget Pro Tools and save for FL, Live or Reason? 2. also ive been reading a few issues of computer music, can i get away with using the free plugins/ virtual synths on their dvd with Pro Tools until i can actually afford something. im still gonna focus on djing and making mixtapes hence this is something of an aside hence not trying to spend so much (not to mention not having any cash to spend). while i know if i dont give it time i cant expect to be making bangers, i guess i just want to see if the ideas i hear in my head can actually be put down. cheers for any help
  18. 7 hours to go and no bids on this full setup. includes ST150, behringer DX750 and Traktor Scratch Duo. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... K:MEWAX:IT seller has no rep, so best use pay pal.
  19. not in a cued fashion but you can put in a hold pin. you should buy from juno anywho works out cheaper. ever since tubby git me onto juno i only buy from beatport when there is no indication its gonna get to juno or i cant wait the month differential that some US joints take to go to juno. in fact sometimes some beatport restricted items are avail on juno from italian or german labels.
  20. hi mattus, not quite a mash up but yes a transition where the vocal is over the top of the outgoing song. i wouldnt kill all bass maybe just down to 20%. as i said i needed to do it in my last mix. go to 9.35, and you will see at 9.46 which has lyrics from go drops in. of course you need to drop it perfectly which i didnt quite. then i leave the outgoing go for one more phrase, before quickly dropping itout while turning the incoming track bass to 100 Mixxx2010-11-28 B Grade (Bmore Booty Bass) by eggssell
  21. cheers for the DL. nice job with the finish up. as i said with th preview song has everything, from dancy moments to menacing to jumping around.
  22. there was no funk section, so rnb close enuff. anywho as part of la roux's attempts to break nth america they have teamed up with canadian lads chromeo for an awesome alternate version of the chromeo song hot mess. apparentally there will be oz & euro singles which will feature this version and a duck sauce remix (with half of duck sauce, a-trak being brothers with dave 1 from chromeo). so yeah this track rocks!!!! Chromeo - Hot Mess Featuring Elly Jackson by Chromeo cant wait to see chromeo in jan!!!
  23. otay so went and finally heard the original. yeah not really my thang, your one kills it. and that hell yeah bit sounds just as stupid. is that why people hating on hip hop again. i heard lil waynes new album too and it has a lot of that sound. i know everyones hating on wayne, fair enuff if thats the tunes coming out in the singles, but dude has a lot of classic tracks. even carter 3 has some gems which record publishers will never let him release. his first album is one of the best hip hop albums of all time... of all time.. aiight no more hijack... yours was almost better than this
  24. like the beginning man, feels like street racing music. def bass out the boot type shyte so the grrl vocal samples are perfect. the male vocal was really good up to the hell yeah bit. uhhh for one sounds dumb, and too felt a bit out of place. i do like how you did the high pitch thing out of it though. then nice build and climax. so yeah other than that crappy bit with the hell yeah (and i thought those grrls i keep posting up sounded lame but the actual song sounds like that??) i think that could rock a party.
