  4. Got reminded why I love djing and producing tonight... had the warm up set, 9-12. I love doing the warm up set sometimes as you have full control of setting the mood, and there is always the challenge of getting the first few people on the dancefloor. Started off like I usually do with plenty of tech and deep house, moving into some more boppy tech house, then a series of old school crowd pleasers for about 15-20 mins to get everyone on the d-floor and then just play whatever I want. I got to test out a couple of new work in progress bootlegs I have been working on for my solo/side project, and they went down probably the best out of anything I played which was good to see! Anyway the place ended up rammed full, it was an awesome crowd, awesome vibes. Good times!
  5. Finally had a look around the new store, looks unreal fellas!! Props to all involved The designs are dope
  6. http://www.youredm.com/2013/05/23/feed-me-to-quit-djing/ Electro House musician and graphical artist Jon Gooch, better known as Feed Me has announced he may no longer be playing DJ sets. In a steady stream of tweets late last night, Feed Me expressed concerns about wavering creativity and a fear of losing his passion. Despite creating the ingenious ”TEETH”, his live set consisting of teeth from his little monster” Feed Me reflects on DJ as “not an art” and that he enjoys creating music and telling stories instead. You can read his tweets below. http://www.youredm.com/2013/05/23/feed-me-to-quit-djing/ As one of the comments said, as long as he keeps making banging tunes im not too concerned! Always been a favourite producer of mine and I was lucky enough to watch his live set. Very unique style.
  7. I dig the album. First time listening I liked it, second time through I loved it. It hasn't left the cd player in my car. A lot of people are dissing daft punk because they think they own them or expect them to release something purely to please their wants, but it wasn't what they wanted/expected, and I think thats the best thing DP could of done. They released something THEY loved, not what some of their 'fans' wanted. As they said, it's better for the album to have purely postive/negative reviews rather then a lot of middle ground opinions. I hear they are releasing a remix album too?
  8. Just discovered this got picked up by this cool NZ blog, resulting in it also ending up on the Hype Machine charts too. Sweet! http://www.nerdyframes.org/?p=42973

  11. Uni nights are honestly my favourite gigs. Uni students are nuts. We play every wednesday uni night at our pub/club, the uni students party at the uni then get dropped off in bus loads into town. We play anything we want and they froth hard, pretty much nothing commercial.

  15. We just cut the ends off the ear plugs, so they fit snug without that shitty bit poking out.
  16. I dj with the earplugs mitch posted. We play at least 2 or more sets a week, generally like 2-3 hour sets too. I never used to wear earplugs and would come home and my ears would be ringing for the following day. Since wearing the plugs though I have noticed a massive difference, i never get home with sore ears anymore. I just keep them in for the whole set, including while mixing. You get used to it pretty quick, and for me it actually helps a little bit with the mixing, a bit more sound control actually.
  17. Thanks fellas
  18. cheers boys!
