You really need to learn and understand Beats, Bars and Phrases. 4 beats to a bar, 8 bars (32 beats) to a phrase. When your mixing you want to start the track your about to mix in on the first beat of a new phrase. Most EDM tracks have a 30sec to 1min intro and outro. Find a few tracks that have the extended version and begin by layering the intro of the track you want to bring in over the top of the outro of the track playing.

Dont think its anything to do with Traktor mate. Have you got your levels on the track your bringing in at the same volume as the track already playing? Keep in mind that you probably wont be able to notice the song your bringing in until the volume fader is about 1/4 between half and full. I would just recommend keeping an eye on your levels to make sure both "track a" and "track b" are at the same volume when mixing.

Songs with heavy kick drums. Satisfaction is pretty good and also most Deadmau5 tracks. You can also try having the same track in both decks and beatmatch them.
