One thing I have noticed about HQ is you pretty much only ever hear electro house/electro/uk bass/house Another thing is I would like to become known for my electro house, that's kinda why I have it starting with some of the lighter electro going to the real heavy stuff. With songs like sleaze dropped in to break it up abit and not become a drown.

Today at work the principal introduced me to brenton, saying I dj as well and such. http://www.facebook.com/dj.brendon Explained about what I do and that, asked if I had any experience with clubs, and explained my situation which is that I've put them in everywhere left right and centre, but they just get auto filed under junk. Said he wants me to pass him a mix tape to see what he can do. So ASAP I am going to record my 2013 promo mixtape, but I need it to impress. My concept for it is this Starting off with "Bass Music" to set a cool vibe, building up into your electro with a few of your commercial remixes to keep the other people happy, then finishing with hard ass electro house. Should be around 1hr for the full tape. What do you think? any tips? any advice?

Indeed, the z2 or ni's verison is way overpriced, and I think designed for cdj's This one has dropped to around $800 AUD brand new im pretty sure. Most of the promo video's I've seen have it with turntables so I will presume it has a decent crossfader.

Not too sure about scratch mixers, as it's not really my area, however if I remember correctly pioneer do a scratch mixer that is traktor certified with all the controls inbuilt You would be maxing out your budget to get it though. as for a standard midi controler for track loading, have a look at the new behringer CMD DC-1. There about $150 of our dollars and would give you far more capability than a control x1 Works great with traktors remix decks too! so it's pretty much an F1 and an X1 in one unit!

My general thing is I get aiff whenever possible and keep it on my backup hd. My pa setup is good, but not good enough so you can tell the difference between 320 and lossless. So I generally just use 320 and keep the lossless on my external for if I ever need it. When it comes down to it, 320 is still good, not quite as good as lossless but it's still good. I mean has anyone ever said kill humans is good but only if the audio quality was slightly higher. For the love of god dont use wav or convert it to aiff. So, now im legally 18 I was hoping to start my approach to getting into clubs. But how do I do this? where do I start? I was planning on making a new mixtape for the occasion and just sending it to promoters? Also I've been attending stuff of a local organisation called soundpond.net, heaps of dj's some of which quite big here hang out there. So I thought it would be good to build connections with them. Where should I go from here though. My ultimate long-term goal is to score a residency.
