No. If you read the link properly, JohnyB wrote: a remix - officialy done for a label or given rights by the producer. A bootleg - an un official remix, someone who has just taken the original/instrumental/acapella and made what sounds like a proper remix, but had no rights to do so, but isnt making money off it so its cool. an edit - someone just choping up an original track or putting a diffrent style drum beat behind it (e.g party rock anthem (swiss breaks edit) mashup - taking 2 tracks, and blending thm together

short answer is yes, laptop is required to do that. There isn't anything that plugs into the 900s to give you hot cues without a laptop, as they want you to get 2000s if you want that feature. its how they design and market products on purpose. To get the maximum $$ from consumers

tommykesh this is for hid mode via usb though, not standard timecode setup

intro - cool to have something different at the start Overall beatmatching = good, phrasing good etc etc. Mixing was good. Only thing i feel was that track order and the way they were mixed it seemed to drop energy a bit at points? e.g. first track real upbeat and stuff and big jet plane is pretty chill. If it was me i would have left the first track out and have it as more of a chill prog mix then you dont get that loss of energy after such an upbeat intro track, as I like to have energy build throughout the mix. However if that is what you were going for thats cool, everyone got a different style But overall good mixing man

This + more. My personal preference is leave mappings to do functions as they were designed, then use an external controller if you wanna get all fancy. But that's just me.

garts suby, nice one. hope the one on friday goes well too

typo lol. fixed

foolish, cdj 900s don't have EDIT: 'hot' cue, only auto beat loops. Hot cues are exclusive to cdj 1000 and 2000 as soldios said. To utilise any sort of hot cueing on that setup, you will need to use traktor or serato. Customising your own midi mapping may be possible the way soldios described it (haven't tried or seen it used like this yet though), or you could use them as dvs and an external controller to control tracks and hot cues. So short answer, no. With software, yes

well there goes that plan lol. One comes along as soon as the other one is sold. dang!

meh. its still gonna be around 2000-2200 for the two 900s before i buy the mixer, whereas for just over 3g i can get this - http://www.djwarehouse.com.au/djgear/dj ... jm700.html So its more than $140, and i get brand new gear that nobody has fucked with this way
-
Sol, if you read they said he doesn't have to use traktor anymore, so jobs right
-
theres no 850s or 900s for sale in melbourne on gumtree atm bruzz. And Don't really trust randoms off gumtree posting so probs just buy new stuff
-
If i find another single used CDJ 900 i may pm you foedragon, otherwise i'm just going to buy brand new 850s

I'm not too sure, but does each channel have a balance knob? That can balance the signal between left and right. If so, it could be turned all to one side? Otherwise it sounds like that channel could be dodgy

Just got home from high school disco, went off without a hitch,, nearly. Got there early, had a mate help set up. Went down to pub and had dinner, went back. Start playing, let my mate help out a bit. He's a drummer, so wasn't a total noob, but mainly just fiddled with the levels and EQs lol. All was good until what we think is the connection terminals on the back of one of the speakers was screwing up (was pretty much fucked when we got it) so we were left with one speaker working. Still seemed loud enough though. Just played mainstream/mainstream remixes til close til 9, with the odd request thrown in. Then i did the classics, macarena, grease megamix, michael jackson, little bit of 90's etc etc. which absolutely everyone was up for so that was good. Then the last half hour i swung it back to top40 remixes. Even though they weren't the originals people were digging the mixing anyway, so just played whatever (didn't have originals for half the songs lol). Finished with some party rock shufflin, and everybody left on a good note. Night can be deemed a success, everyone was happy with the music

NI8/internal souncard conflict? Latency issue too.
Mitch replied to imadje's topic in Computer Corner
Updates can suck, especially driver ones. I avoid driver updates where possible, unless i suss it all out and make sure its sorting out bugs, not making new ones. What i would try: -download revo uninstaller (http://www.revouninstaller.com/download ... taller.zip) -open it and use to uninstall the NI8 drivers + traktor. -go to control panel-device manager to uninstall the internal sound card -reboot. run ccleaner (http://www.piriform.com/CCLEANER). run the cleaner, registry, and go tools-startup. if there is anything you can definately remove from auto startup, get rid of it. so now the computer should hopefully be running nice and smooth -go to relevant manufacturer websites to download drivers for the NI8, internal sound card, and traktor. Might pay to have a quick look to make sure the versions you get are bug free. If you remember what versions you were running before you had issues, i'd go with them. -install internal soundcard, traktor and the NI8 -set your latencies and settings back up -do wazzas optimisation stuff. That should sort it (if it makes sense), and clean your laptop up a bit on the way, so it will run a bit faster -
voted for ya bro
