  1. That's the same one cap was talking about in this thread - viewtopic.php?f=8&t=7176 Looks like pioneer are trying to enter the beginner DJ market.
  2. welcome bro
  3. I learnt on a Mixtrack Pro, they are a pretty good beginner controller. By looking at a photo of the total control (however never used one) the mixtrack pro has better jog wheels. Also, the mixtrack pro is fully compatible with traktor pro, you just need to purchase the upgrade from traktor le, so don't let that turn you off it. As I said, haven't used the Total Control, but did learn on the mixtrack pro, and when i was looking to buy a controller it seemed the best bang for buck. Hope this helps
  4. cheers street
  5. Street just listened to you mix man, was diggin it the while time! Cool use of some different transition techniques and samples thrown in.
  6. Very true, mixtape is very different to live mixing. You can mix like shit and the crowd will still dig if you play the right stuff. You can mix good and not read the crowd and they wont like it. Its all about feeling the energy. Which i can tell is what your about. It's just as / if not more important than the mixing
  7. Just went and skimmed through this,, definately wasn't bad or anything. Just could do with a tidyup in some of the transitions. Beatmatching in some spots, phrase matching i picked up a bit out in one or two. When i listen back, some of the 3 deck mashup mixing actually worked well, and others not so much. But that more comes down to knowing your tracks well than anything, and you stated you didn't know them that well. The three deck stuff can work, but you gotta know the buildups, drops etc. in the songs well. Which it worked for some, others it sounded a bit too full on. But also what cupe said, people hear a slip up early and they bias against you the rest of the mix, which isn't really 'fair', but that's just how most people work.
  8. hey man haven't gone back to re listen but i'll say what i can remember: think the main issue the mix had was you tried to have too much going on in some spots. This caused it to not have as much as a flow as some of the other mixes. beatmatching wasn't as clean as some of the others. This is just what i remember, as i said haven't gone back to re listen, but hope that gives you an idea?
  9. So after owning my CDJs for three days, thought i'd record something. Still fine tuning my (very basic) skills on the CDJs, they are tad different to use than the old mixtrack. Mix is a bit rough around the edges, I didn't know all the songs that well which probably didn't help. There is quite a few stuff ups etc. but got told to upload anyway. So here it is. Your thoughts on it would be appreciated. http://soundcloud.com/mitch_fudd/harry-goes-electro-mix Tracklist: Hedwigs Theme (Electro Remix) - Touch Bass Fight Club Is Closed - Dada Life Louder (Inphinity's Electrostep Edit)(Feat. 20. jog wheel adjust. so when you are in vinyl mode it changes how fast the song 'accelerates'? (not sure how else to describe) back up to speed. can change from instant to practically never
