  3. just listened to this. Had to refrain from headbanging and tapping my hands/feet due to funny looks while in the study room at school lol. Nice mix man. Intro was different too, which is cool. Liked it
  4. WTF just happened. Pree cool
  5. Liking the sound of this man, nice blend of rap and drumstep. Can't wait to hear it finished
  6. bumpity bump bump
  7. just listened man, my thoughts: -Track selectrion = good -The change of tempo from Hello vs Paper Planes and havin a couple of slower songs at the end was cool -beatmatching was decent for some of it, but imo got a little bit messy at times, but you seemed to correct it and stuff in not too much time which is good Yer so overall, good mix, good tracks, just some of the transitions just could have been abit cleaner and would make it just that bit better and would flow better.
  8. just finished listening to this man, loved it. beatmatching was heaps tight, specially for a mashup style mix. Good track selection too, mixed it up a bit. I was boppin in my chair and tapping my hands on the desk the whole time man. Mad props to you
  9. Hey guys, Thought i'd share this deal that is going atm to you guys. Macupdate sell these special bundles of software a few times each year, going cheap. And it's legit. There is 10 programs, going for $50 (purchased individually these would cost nearly $500). Programs are: -Toast 11 Titanium - CD/DVD Burning software -Data Rescue 3 - Data recovery program -FX Photo Studio Pro - Apply effects to photos, and basic editing -Fantastical - iCal/Outlook calendar in your menu bar, with some cool features -iStat menus - View CPU, RAM, HDD etc. stats in menubar -Phoneview - View iphone contents and transfer files on computer -Concealer - Secure program to store sensitive information and files -EarthDesk - view a real time image of the globe as wallpaper -Mellel - Word processing program -Bookends - Reference management and bibliography app with Mellel integration Its a good bundle of apps, i bought it mainly for toast titanium (RRP $99), Data rescue (RRP $99) and fantastical (RRP $19). So its already over half price for just those 3. Link to purchase them is at: https://www.mupromo.com/ So if your keen on any programs, jump on it while its cheap
  10. Cheers Man Feedback like this is invaluable, helps a lot especially coz i'm still learning. Thanks heaps
  11. Hey man, sorry only got round to this now. My thoughts in a summary, and no particular order: -Intro song goes for abit too long I think. I have been known to do this before as well though, and working on changing it -Beatmatching is generally pretty tight right through, you hear some of it you can hear is a tiny bit out, but you seem to correct it fairly quick. Nothing too bad though. -Couple of transitions sounds like they could have abit more adjustment on the EQ's to make them abit better, but its nothing too bad -The tracks seem flow fairly well together, seems like you have put some thought into the order which is good -I like the 2nd trans (i did it fairly similar in my mix lol ) Good mix overall man, i liked it. If you got time to leave some comments on mine too i'd appreciate heaps man
  12. Woops, that was a bit dumb on my part. But yer you get the idea
  13. Sounds reasonable
  14. My understanding is that you can use pioneer cdjs that are supported for HID in serato like this (sorry for crap paint skills):
  15. how much would you be looking for to get rid of cdjs, mixer and roadcase posted down to 2714, nsw?
  16. I might not have enough cash yet lol. + postage half way across the country might be abit of a ballbreaker. But i'm pretty sure im gonna be looking at getting equipment soon. This is ideal setup, but my wallet wants to get something cheaper So yer if i don't definately go ahead with it when/if you choose to sell, gandy can have it, thats only fair too
  17. Id possibly be keen on cdjs + mixer and case depending on price. in a few weeks time not 100% sure what im doing with my $$ yet though
  18. Alot of people use both, so using a Windows PC isn't the end of the world and that they are bad as such, its more just the macs have built themselves a reputation for being very robust, stable and reliable when DJing, therefore alot of people prefer them. Also less driver hassles, etc etc. But a good PC set up correctly can work, i'd check out wazzas thread about setting up PC for DJing / production: viewtopic.php?f=48&t=5026 This was brought up in another thread recently too, not sure which one though.
  19. I still needa vote, will finish listening to em today
  20. If I were to buy turntables, thats what i would be buying.
  21. Hey guys, inspired from chris maks thread i thought id make a thread where you can leave any comments/feedback for my mix here. You've most likely listened to it already if you voted, but heres the embed anyway: http://soundcloud.com/mitch_fudd/adjf-mix-your-heart-out-comp Primary reason I entered was to get some feedback and see how my mixes stacked up against everyone, so just any feedback on the mixing would be heaps appreciated, and help me improve for the future Cheers guys
  22. Serato Scratch is designed to be used with either their rane mixers, or the serato sound cards (sl1,2,3 and 4). So to use scratch i believe you'll need one of these. As far as serato itch, its only for approved midi controllers.
  23. Awesome setup spitfire. St150s, CDJ 800s Xone 42, Kaoss Pad? Not sure what those denons are lol
  24. Agree with foolish on this one, PCs have alot more variables as far as audio production and DJing is concerned. There is audio drivers, USB drivers, software specific settings etc. That all need to be right for a stable setup. As for macs, Mine is 4 years old at least, and all I do Is turn off dashboard, bluetooth and airport for When I dj. never crashed after multiple 5-6 hr gigs. And barely any CPU load (around 5% most time). However this wasn't about what computer you should have, so defs check wazzas links regarding audio setup, and here are some other general pointers that I use at work for general pc stability: - back up any files you dont need on the internal hdd onto an external drive and remove from comp - run a cleanup util program such as Ccleaner to clean up temp files, registry and unnecessary startup programs. Removing startup programs can make Hella difference. -use disk defragmenter to help keep files in the smallest amount of pieces possible
  25. you would need to buy the scratch upgrade kit if you didn't get it for free in the promo eggs mentioned. setup would be like this vid:
